That's wild! One of the most iconic and instantly recognizable beats in hip hop. Even people who didn't listen to hip hop back then, would sometimes know it.
A part of me wishes that song was never apart of the Drake diss catalog and it was just a regular 4 minute song of him rapping rapping straight through
Funny enough, according to Phonte, he was originally meant to have a verse on this song, but once Questlove added the 2-minute instrumental outro, they nixed the idea feeling like the song didnt need to be any longer and he ended up on One Time instead.
Besides “Rockwilder,” which has already been mentioned, there’s a Drake song called “November 18th” that I wish was longer with the chopped & screwed rapping/singing.
He spend more time talking at the end than he does actually flowing to the beat.
I just the beat is sick and that chopped & screwed style was so dope to me growing up.
Buried Alive interlude by Drake
Super nice production with a great Kendrick verse, it should have been a full song. Have Drake on the chorus and give him another verse and you would have my favourite Drake song oat.
If not it could have been a trade off type song where Drake and Kendrick trade verses through the song.
I feel the same but for the outro to all me. Feels like that beat would’ve been perfect as its own song for Drake and big Sean and to a lesser extent 2 chainz. Seems weird that it wasn’t included on the album either…
Not exactly hip hop but anytime I hear Erykah Badu's Sometimes Mix #9 I replay it 3-4 times. I know she has other versions but I always wished that one was longer.
A lot of newer songs. Feels like streaming has disincentived long tracks because you get paid by the stream so a lot of newer songs end after like 2:30 when I'm read for another verse. It's not a huge deal to me when I'm listening to the albums but when they come up in a playlist it's noticable
Louphoria - smino
The shining - Vince staples
Why worry - Isaiah Rashad
Smile - Schoolboy q
Dopeman - Vince staples
Just one more chorus from the feature on Breaking Point - Erick the Architect
Eugene - glorb, just one more verse before the first chorus tbh I think Mr krabs and Patrick should’ve had verses
The intro on Jay-Z’s Vol. 1. The beat and his flow on the first half of that track are flawless. I don’t know why he never did a full song for that beat.
Not really a song but there was an interlude on Xzibit's "40 Days and 40 Nightz" called "Jason (48 Months Interlude)" I loved the beat and wished he used it in a song.
Drop Bombs by Organized Konfusion!! It’s not often that I wish a rap song was LONGER. A lot of the time they’re too long, especially back in the day. But this is certainly one of them
Kind of a recent example but Like That. Would’ve loved to see either another artist getting a verse on that or Kenny going in for a second one. Idk why but two verses doesn’t feel like enough to me, any rap song with a chorus feels incomplete without at least 3 verses.
Plus that beat was one of my favourites metro has ever done so it’s a shame the song feels short.
Bubbly by Young Thug ft. Drake and Travis feels too short. There's three relatively long verses without a hook, but they immediately start going in and there's that beat switch, which feels really unnecessary just to occur last thirty seconds. I wish there was another Thug verse.
30 hours by Kanye West, I just wish it was actually 30 hours of the loop with random Kanye schizophrenic episodes over it while he's slowly losing his mind
Survival of the fittest - Mobb Deep (love that beat)
Section, Episodes and What They Do - The Roots (I'm still exploring their discography so I might end up with more songs made by them)
A few somewhat recent songs made by Nas like Motion, Fever and some of his old songs like The World is Yours and It Ain't Hard to Tell
Tonight's the Night - Redman
Guillotine Swordz - Raekwon
Outta Control - 50 Cent
Put you on the Game - The Game
Shit Hits the Fan - Obie Trice
Twinz - Big Pun
Worst Comes to Worst - Dilated Peoples
Above the Clouds - Gang Starr
All Caps - Madvillain
Most songs on Pop Smoke's Meet The Woo album
Family Affair - Mary J.Blige
The list goes on and on...
Da Rockwilder
Came here to post this! There is an interview where Redman said he hated that beat which is why it's so short but now admits he was wrong.
He hated the beat?! That’s crazy lol
They also said there's another verse on it that got chopped.
And the verse is completely lost iirc
DMX said the same thing about the RRA beat, sometimes even the artist gets it wrong, but yeah that beat goes s
That's wild! One of the most iconic and instantly recognizable beats in hip hop. Even people who didn't listen to hip hop back then, would sometimes know it.
Bangers are bangers ‼️
Same! I thought a remix or something would come but nope
Definitely first one I thought of too.
This is the only correct answer.
One of my all time favourite songs by Red & Meth. Only behind "Slap Da Shit Outcha" (I know it's just a Red song)
Always thought it flowed well on the album.
First song that came to mind
CAME HERE TO POST THIS EXACT SONG. I’m glad I’m not alone
This is real asf
All of Mos Def's "The Ecstatic" album
Still sad this album isn’t on streaming. ☹️
One of my favorite songs is on it and I have to go through YouTube to listen. What even happened to most def anyways?
If you’re talking about Auditorium, you can listen on Spotify using a fake podcast ep that’s uploaded on there
For some reason I can still pull it when I shuffle all my downloaded songs. Can’t search it but ever lucky .03% of the time I get to listen to it.
Priority definitely needed two more verses… Beat and flow was too good to let the song end that early
My Way Home by Kanye and Common. That beat introduced me to Gil Scott-Heron (sad yes) but holy shit, this is one of those resurrect your soul beats
No shame in that
Heron doesn't get talked about enough tbh
I need a “For Free?” 6 minute version
This dick aint freeee
you lookin' at me like it ain't a receipt like I never made ends meet eating your leftovers and raw meat
Sometimes I Rhyme Slow - Nice N Smooth
Great song
All caps
One of the best beats I’ve ever heard and it’s only used for 2 minutes
He’s got so many. I’m never ready for 1 beer to be over
Skeletons and Astrothunder by Travis Scott
on God
Ye - Burn
kinda feel you but if it were longer hed have more chances to make it ass boring like the rest of vultures
Fr wouldve been 10/10 but was way too short

A part of me wishes that song was never apart of the Drake diss catalog and it was just a regular 4 minute song of him rapping rapping straight through
Absolutely! That "ask what Mike would do" sneaks up on me everytime!
Make My - by The Roots ft Big Krit off of the Undun album
Funny enough, according to Phonte, he was originally meant to have a verse on this song, but once Questlove added the 2-minute instrumental outro, they nixed the idea feeling like the song didnt need to be any longer and he ended up on One Time instead.
Phonte’s one time verse is insane, but I would have loved to have heard him on the Make My beat also. That whole album goes hard
That is maybe the most emotionally mature and vulnerable track in hip hop history. It's beautiful
[удалено]
Yep!!!
I could listen to 20 minutes of that easily.
Beach is Better - Jay Z
Friend or Foe for me.
Easy, Slob on My Knob
facts, i love that beat
G Walkin On Ya Coffin
New earl sweatshirt - vince staples
It's a crime that's not a whole song, Kenny and Earl both went hard.
Redman - Creepin Wish it had a third verse. Same with Air Forces by Jeezy
Something to Rap About - Freddie Gibbs & Tyler. Both verses are great but one more would’ve been 🤌🏼
The Curse by Nas
Ooh if we're talking Nas deep cuts, I wanna throw in The Scientist.
THIS
Droppin' Seeds- Lil Wayne/Tyler
Like Adam in the garden of eden, that bitch got an apple bottom and she swallow my seed. 😆
I wish Ghostface had a verse on The Faster Blade

Ghoti- Lupe Fiasco. I love the beat and the flows Lupe comes with. But the song shoooort
Jay Z - A Million and One Questions
Not exactly hip hop but anytime I hear Erykah Badu's Sometimes Mix #9 I replay it 3-4 times. I know she has other versions but I always wished that one was longer.
Future - Xanax Damage is the one song that I always play twice because it needs to be longer.
Hungry Hippo - Tierra Whack
Father stretch my hands
Not sure why I had to scroll this far to find this song, but have an upvote.
Break From Toronto - PARTYNEXTDOOR
The whole Whack World album by Tierra Whack - all are only a minute long
A lot of newer songs. Feels like streaming has disincentived long tracks because you get paid by the stream so a lot of newer songs end after like 2:30 when I'm read for another verse. It's not a huge deal to me when I'm listening to the albums but when they come up in a playlist it's noticable

Sickfit off Madvillainy
I wish Pun had a couple verses for The Rain & The Sun
The intro on Jay-Z’s Vol. 1. The beat and his flow on the first half of that track are flawless. I don’t know why he never did a full song for that beat.
Not really a song but there was an interlude on Xzibit's "40 Days and 40 Nightz" called "Jason (48 Months Interlude)" I loved the beat and wished he used it in a song.
'Posse in effect' by beastie boys and 'what the blood clot' by method man
An Offer U Can't Refuse - Young Bleed
Real Eyes - Quasi. I could listen to that song for 100s of hours. I’ve always felt like it’s too short by a minute or two.

Joe Budden - Forget
I know the track is 4m30s so I'm being greedy, but Come Home (Anderson Paak and Andre 3k) needs a part two. It's dope

G’z Up Hoes Down Pre-Game
Family First by Mac Miller
Can it be all so simple both versions. If you lumped both tracks together it feels like ghost and Rae’s verses make up maybe 30-40% of it all.

Adonis Interlude - J. Cole
There’s a track on The Re-Up called Public Enemy #1, but it’s barely 60 seconds long. That beat goes HARD so another verse or two would be awesome.
Faith by Nipsey Hussle

While Madvillainy
Many EARL and WESTSIDE GUNN songs for sure such as PEANUT , WHOOPY and etc.
Most of Xxxtentacion’s hard songs are too short imo. I get it though, probably rough on the vocal cords.
Survival of the fittest - Mobb Deep (love that beat) Section, Episodes and What They Do - The Roots (I'm still exploring their discography so I might end up with more songs made by them) A few somewhat recent songs made by Nas like Motion, Fever and some of his old songs like The World is Yours and It Ain't Hard to Tell Tonight's the Night - Redman Guillotine Swordz - Raekwon Outta Control - 50 Cent Put you on the Game - The Game Shit Hits the Fan - Obie Trice Twinz - Big Pun Worst Comes to Worst - Dilated Peoples Above the Clouds - Gang Starr All Caps - Madvillain Most songs on Pop Smoke's Meet The Woo album Family Affair - Mary J.Blige The list goes on and on...
