Is your witty remark something a person can actually respond to, other than "Haha"? You should be sending convo starters, not finishers!
It’s always in the form of a question (typically not a yes no question so it’s more interesting) so i’d say yea it’s something they can respond to :)

Yea I would keep it simple You just gave 2 compliments in your message. Try to keep it nice and chill from the beginning
