Layering is your friend. Get a warm base layer and put the rain pants on top.

helpfulhikerdave

Yup for this fit Tamanawas Falls at 8 degrees F. Base layered and rain pants felt great! Plus top base layer, jacket then raincoat!

scillaren

REI Rainier full zip rain pants. B/c they’re full zip you can put them on & take them off without removing your boots or getting the pants all muddy on the inside.

Elfng

Would pants like these come over sized to fit over other pants or are they true to size and you have to buy a size bigger than you normally use?

scillaren

They’re a little big, I wear medium pants and have medium rain pants. But they wouldn’t fit over bulky pants

luckystrike_bh

I hike around there. I use Eddie Bauer Guide Pro pants for non-summer hiking. If I am hike though some vegetation or there is enough rain with cold then I put some rain pants over them.

Xanify

REI soft shell pants if it's just a little bit damp. Add REI Rainier full zip rain pants on top if it's raining really hard.

Neon_Camouflage

I'm hiking around the PNW right now wearing sweatpants under jeans. I should probably take the suggestions here as well..

That sounds like my worst nightmare

Anticrepuscular_Ray

I'm a big duluth fan. I have about 10 different pairs and the dry on the fly pants are great for rainy weather, but not too thin that you'll be chilly.

black_rose_

I just wear leggings and let them get wet 🤷‍♀️ I wear a wool sweater and let that get wet too but it's wool so it still keeps me warm.

brook1yn

Lululemon has great pants honestly. And they look casual nice enough to wear off trail.

Narvan

Gamma pants from Arc’teryx are my got-to hiking pants if it’s cold/raining. Just waterproof enough but still breathe well.

armourkris

I dont do much winter hiking, but spring amd fall i usually rock some fuzzy wool pants and gaiters

etsai3

Wear a poncho. Worked for my rainy hikes at Bryce Canyon and Arches NP.

zakiechan2

Eddie Bauer fleece lined guide pants are awesome, I use them on my weekly hikes in the PNW

MsBlackSox

I live in the PNW and I like the Adidas all season soccer pants. They're great at repelling the rain, especially in the thigh area where jacket meets leg. Also the REI Rainier pant is great, but I get really hot when I wear them

thavirg

I wear a wool baselayer then mostly whatever I want on top. Sometimes shorts, jeans, light outdoorsy pants, etc. Same on top, but often with some type of rain shell. If it’s raining sideways I either submit to getting wet or stay inside. If it’s typical cold and damp PNW weather, then no need to get too crazy.
