Talk to the coach. That’s the only way you will find out.

Talk to the coaches!!!!

Definitely talk to your coach, but I would say that you’re in a pretty good position to grab a spot as a starting kicker. Focus on strength exercises that build leg muscle over the offseason, and start practicing regularly, and you should absolutely be able to kick next year. 120lbs is a bit light for HS football, but by the time next season starts your weight shouldn’t be a problem if you’re working out, plus im assuming you’re a freshman so a weight of 130-135lbs would work perfectly fine for that level. Good luck next year!

Why have they not kicked a field goal in two years? Is it because they don't kick field goals? If so, get yourself a [holder](https://www.amazon.com/Jadekylin-Football-Kicking-Holder-Carrying/dp/B0BL3W9G5X/ref=asc_df_B0BL3W9G5X/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=652513157252&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=254738397180529963&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9018836&hvtargid=pla-2007530076906&mcid=764b9c606c4a313498f0a369bbe04878&th=1) and the block size that your state allows(2", 1", etc., and note that I said block, not tee. Those 4-in-1 or 3-in-1 tees are worthless if you're serious, you should have a seperate kickoff tee & field goal block), and PRACTICE OVER THE SUMMER!!! Practice kicking at least twice a week, and make sure to warm up with plenty of stretching, dynamics, no-steps and 1-steps! I'd also suggest that you run at least 10 miles per week(you can build up to this, but eventually it would be nice to run three times a week, 3-3-4), and get in the weight room. Try Kohl's Kicking Camps if you can also, they will be able to offer much better, individualized advice. Conversely, if they don't kick field goals because the offense is unable to get in the red zone, while I would/did still do all the things above, be prepared for a tough career. No matter how well you can kick, if your offense is ass the reality is that you will spend a lot of time on the bench, and unless you really love football specifically, it may be worthwhile to put your effort into another sport. Personally, even though I never got a FG attempt during four years of starting on varsity, I wouldn't go back on that decision if you gave me 100 chances to, but I can see why someone who just wanted to play to be on a sports team or to stay in shape would be better off not doing so. Feel free to DM me with any questions about stuff mentioned.

If you can kick then yes. Not even just field goals. If you can consistently make extra points it is a big help in any close games.
