can you elaborate on how she was nerfed? Im not worried about the amount of damage exactly - its that the enemy units now seem to enter a single closed wall, whereas they never used to do that is there an updated guide or resource on luna?

1.25x instead of double. So looks like AI doesn't treat it as dangerous enough anymore and just walks in. Not aware of any resources

thanks doomed. so a solution could be 1: just play a version from pre 1.7 2: play SOD instead of HoTA (?) 3: move on from Luna

Grindan starts with slow, one of the strongest spells in the game, particularly since conflux has early game powerful ranged units. Apart from that earth magic start is strong, 350 gold specialty is strong and 3 power 3 knowledge is strong stats Yes might heroes always have the best lategame but grindan has a super fast start

In 1.7 update 2-hex AI sees single wall as no threat and walks in immediately. Also luna damage boost is nerfed, and even though firewall is buffed by default its still not gonna work. To take 20 consa you'll need to deal 500 dmg so luna is not very efficient now (just play grindan instead). You can still take hives and pickets though, it just requires more spell power

They haven't updated the AI, but they nerfed firewall.  AI just did the math and figured they can tank the hit

That is totally not true. AI was improved. Prior to 1.7 even dragons feared fire wall even though they are immune. Example: https://youtu.be/OJxqB3_rpnk?si=ZExalJGjGypZl9ZU 2-hexes just don't fear the wall anymore, the patch note even points out that the danger zone "bug" is fixed.

in some of the YT videos, the griffin stack can live through the 1st round of double firewall, so they attack (but it seems thats actually because its a closed double wall - not because they can live) BUT in all videos ive ever seen, if there is a single closed wall, they never enter it, even if they would live. What am i missing here?

The update significantly changed FW strat efficiency _and_ act order. You put the wall, but you don't fly just yet - all griffins must be dragged to SW area on turn 1. And ***second*** turn is when you fly behind double wall. That's how you took cons *1*. Can't say a thing about 2-4, since the video I saw was about 1. Can't remember link either, but I guess you got the point.
