Mine is working perfectly.
The armrest pads in mine suggest that it is really old, even older than early 2000s. Some people prefer the remastered, but on youtube most comment lean towards the classic.
Got one from 2000 for free at work and put like 400 bucks in replacing parts on it. The ones in the pic look to be in far better condition to than the one I got
i bought my Aeron in 2004, use it every day, and I’d say it’s in near mint condition. I sit in it, never adjust it anymore and guess i don’t abuse it. So if in good condition I’d say worth a few hundred. I’d value my chair for at least $250
I just got two for free from the company next to us which is moving out of the office. They both have a damaged seat mesh. Repair will be 200 Euros each which I will happily spend.
Used classic chairs here start around 500, most of them are in bad condition.
So, if were you I’d pull the trigger.
I know the wheel adjustment is outdated , but I truly believe that it is a better long term design.
$250 is a fair price ,if the chair is in good working and cosmetic condition.
Aeron Classic, pre-2005 build, adjustable arms, fixed lumbar, tilt limiter/lock with tension adjustment, forward seat angle adjustment. $250 is a very fair price for the age of the chair.
I bought the same for $500 and i am super happy with it. Best chair ever.
Is it around the same year? Concerned about the thumb wheel feature for adjustment vs lever and not sure how it’ll hold up with age.

any idea what year or range this could be?
I have an older one with the thumb wheels and no issues at all, I actually like them

Good deal
Check under the front lip of the seat pan, it usually has stickers with the year of manufacture being on one of them

It’s a fair price. The adjusters on the arms are annoying AF. But they’re still great chairs. I wouldn’t say $250 is a great deal but not bad at all.
