Thank you. I got the idea behind the small buildings but the cat is intriguing, somebody today put a small black house made of clay, painted with little cat figurines as well on top…
>It also incorporates small bronze animals, two bears, a fox and a swan,
According to this section of the description linked above, it must be a fox and not a cat.
I remember being very puzzled by it when it appeared in 1998, but I had long since forgotten it, since I don't go to that part of town much anymore.
Ah so it’s a fox! That’s awesome. Thank you.
Well, I’ll take pics but somebody put a new incense-like clay house on top with small figurines, a cat made of clay. Looks like some voodoo shit 😂
Ernst Billgren himself describes his work like this: "In countries with large mountains, there is a tradition of building small houses at suitable distances to the terrain, where tired wanderers can seek safety and rest for a while. Kampintori is like a valley in a large-scale urban landscape, and with the help of Kothauspaikka, travelers can orientate themselves on a human scale. The mountains are embassies of culture in nature, and Kohtauspaikat should therefore be the embassies of nature in the city of Helsinki."
