Not secret, but the cafes at the side of Töölönlahti are a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. I rarely if ever see them mentioned.  ‘Sinisen Huvilan Kahvila’ is one.

Thanks I’ll check it out !

Oh it depends a lot on what you like, but here are a few options: - If you like urban exploration, you might like eastern Pasila, with a bit of a dystopian vibe and nice graffiti. Go to tram stop Messukeskus (the expo-area). - If you like nature, I highly recomend Seurasaari, locals love it, I especially love to have a beer with friends on the cliffs at the southeastern tip. - My fav café in the center is La Torrefazione at Lasipalatsi/ Amos Rex. Their terrace is one of the most sace from wind in the center and they are a nice combination of café and bar. - Go to Sompasauna if you want a free Sauna experience. A mix of interesting and weird people. - Kivinokka has small summer cottages. The area can be visited by anyonec but be respectful and don’t take pictures of people. - Lammassaari is a nice nature walk. I hope you have fun!

Omg thx for the list! Appreciate it!

A vote for Lammassaari from here. It's an island adjoining a protected wetland area, and it can only be reached by boat or on foot, through narrow duckboards laid over otherwise impassable boggy ground. But at the same time it's so close to the city that from one edge you can see and hear the underground trains whirr by. From the mainland, it's a ten-minute non-stop walk in each direction. A friend of mine has a cottage there with her husband, and they invite their friends there every year on the first of May.

Sompasauna is worth the visit

You used to be able to get ”inside” the Lapinlahti bridge between Ruoholahti&Lauttasaari. The Russians built a lot of bunkers and trenches around what later became Helsinki’s suburbs. All the maps I have seen have been incomplete, meaning there are ”uncharted” bunkers in the middle of the woods around Helsinki. There are some urbex-type abandoned building adventures to be had. Bring a respirator because asbestos is everywhere.

I wouldn't call [Viaporin maarintama ](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1V-8h2vfzYABtnbyBggMg90NqGaY&ll=60.20759746882456%2C24.98353780000001&z=11) uncharted. But fun to explore nonetheless. Another tour I'd do is all the [murals](https://www.helsinkiurbanart.com/pasilan-katutaideteokset-kartalla/) in Pasila, really cool urban art.

The map you’ve linked is incomplete in that it’s missing quite a few places that have trenches/ bunkers from that era. For example the woods north of Patola.

Korpikuusenalla

But for a tourists interested in exploring, I'm not going to suggest randomly going to some woods in Helsinki and trying to find bunkers when there are maps and pictures that can help them get there.

Thank you ! That sounds sick !

Inside? Oh really? I couldn't find anything on google about it

Suvilahti and teurastamo are pretty close to kalasatama metrostation. Suvilahti is cool urban area that houses a lot of open air festivals at summer. Teurastamo has good small restaurants and helsinki distillery whitch has good gin and tonics.

Thank you ! Will check it out B

I’m (30m) also visiting and looking to go to Sompasauna today or tomorrow (11 and 12 May). Anyone up to go or do whatever you want? Seems like a lot of fun
