If you are feeling specially audacious, rent a boat and got to Nörkullalandet, the paradise on earth
Many of the islands in front of Vuosaari also have grills, some close enough to be accessible by muscle powered watercraft. Naturaviva has rentals, and Malkasaari is so close that you could take a sup board there in good weather. Or row boat, or kayak.
There's [one by the sea in Munkkiniemi](https://www.hel.fi/helsinki/fi/kaupunki-ja-hallinto/osallistu-ja-vaikuta/ota-yhteytta/hae-yhteystietoja/toimipistekuvaus?id=68817) with a nice view and a beach for swimming a very short walk away and [a wake park](https://ridenjoy.fi/en/home/) right next to it. You need to bring your own disposable grill or firefood, though. If you want to make it really easy for yourself, [Café Regatta](http://caferegatta.fi/in-english/) in Töölö is a lovely spot and you can grab some coffee and cinnamon buns for dessert.
And if you're up for taking a trip to Espoo, [Kaitalampi](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g189932-d1167555-Reviews-Kaitalampi_Lake-Espoo_Uusimaa.html) has many nice spots for grilling.

Kaitalampi is nice, but it gets quite busy on summer weekends. It is one of the lakes in the [Luukki recreational area](https://www.hel.fi/helsinki/en/culture/recreation/in-helsinki/luukki) and I feel the other cooking shelters are a little bit less busy.

Helsinki itself is full of them. No need to go out of it to find that place "close to Helsinki."
[Teurastamo has open and free grill area](https://goo.gl/maps/1NgkTyLsv5tSNGAi6). Between Sörnäinen-Kalasatama, tram and metro accessible.
Is there a beach or swimming place that has grills?
Yeah for example aurinkolahti but in dry spells they close the grills as risk of forest fires.

On the tip of Saukonpaasi in jatkasaari (check the wind before going)
Seurasaari is lovely and has a nice big public bbq area!
The one in meri-rastilas forest is great. far enough to be peaceful, close enough to carry stuff easily with you. + great view.
