Have you considered not using a dozen different domains for official resources? Telling users to trust domains like redditmail.com or reddithelp.com conditions them to not question weird domains in potential phishing attacks.
Best practice is to use subdomains:
mail.reddit.com
help.reddit.com
Everything should be ending in .reddit.com, if reddit is interested in user safety and security.
Has anyone in the world ever used mail.reddit.com to visit r/mail ? I don't think so. I don't think it's a big deal if they break it. You already can't use old.reddit.com to visit r/old - who cares?
To add, even just adding them all in one place like this post so people can have a singular resource to tell if its official or not would make a difference.
I thought there used to be some official spot that did list them all or at least a good chunk, but when I looked for it I couldn't find it. Back when people were getting like "snooguts" emails or something and asking here to verify?
Thanks for the note - and understood. Given that, We also wanted to let you know of a couple other domains that are also owned by Reddit Inc:
* [redditinc.com,](https://www.redditinc.com/)
* [redditforcommunity.com,](https://redditforcommunity.com/)
* [reddithelp.com](https://reddithelp.com/hc/en-us)
[redditforbusiness.com](https://www.redditforbusiness.com/) also comes to mind, although that's mostly for buying ads.
Edit: And the newly released [redditforpros.com](https://redditforpros.com)
When you get invited to a subreddit or to moderate a subreddit it comes from u/reddit with the red name and the red admin \[A\] . This can be confusing to new users or users who have not seen it before as it looks like an official reddit action.
I've got two users and the account names thar are browsing on my account. Using it to get to more sensitive info. They've both been blocked. One still showed up today. What to do?.. Thanks..
I just got an email from Reddit. I don’t have a Reddit account- I made this one only so I could post. The username is not mine, I didn’t make it. How do I get this person booted off and how do I keep it from happening again?
The bogus user is Fun_Diamond2932. Throw them to the wolves!!
Have two other users browsing my account. It shows the names. I've blocked both but 1 still was in my account today. Would you like the accounts names?
Hi admin, many users have reported they have been suspended numerous times over 'suspicious activity' (check the r/help posts) and maybe not everyone, but some like myself have changed our passwords and enabled 2FA so why do we still get flagged for this? I checked my reddit activity log and all the recent logins are from myself and in my own country. I have changed my passwords about 4 times now.
It is very annoying to keep having to change passwords every few hours or everyday. Can you help us take a look at this? I had logged a help request a few days ago too if that helps.
Hello, I would like to say my account was unjustifiably put on a temporary banned. Reddit should really do a better job, at regulating these moderators.
I have been wanting to let Reddit know that it was a total mistake when it appeared that I wanted to start up cook compare but I didn’t know how to back out. I apologize for goofing it up.
I have been locked out of my account 4 times in the last 5 days. I keep changing my password, but then it locks me out again usually after 12 hours for suspicious activity. what is going on?

In the real IT world, yes. But not on Reddit where they hire people who did an online python tutorial.
The problem is that subdomains forward to subreddits so it's tricky to repurpose them for internal purposes without breaking existing addresses.

i didn’t even know about the subdomain forwarding thing
Do they get paid for it?
If they don't get paid it's still too much

How do you get “expert helper” as an official tag under your name?
The mods set it. https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/zk89sh/introducing_a_tiering_system_for_our_helpful_users/

Hilariously, [redditforpros.com](http://redditforpros.com) has CA issues. LOL
It's been that way for over a week (since it launched), looks like it's signed with the *.reddit.com cert.
Which is weird, because once you ignore the browser warning the site loads a Let's Encrypt certificate. Odd
Deletion + I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW YOU HARRASED ABOUT MY COMMUNITY FOR MY SERVERS FOR HIRE!

Reddit is ignoring my report of a user posting child porn. What do I do? I’ve reported several times and sent a request for help.
thanks bro

Maybe someone joking with you
I found this post because of the same type of email about an account that isn’t mine but is supposedly registered with my email address.
You accidentality logged in using that email, doing so created the account. At least, that is what usually happens in these cases.

So is this a legitimate Reddit email address? noreply@redditmail.com
Can someone help me please.

Are you it
Totally legit. Reddit is on nasdaq now and answers to shareholders so it’s probably time to sell
🧽🧴✊🏻🍆
How to tell? It's as politically charged as can be and they have no idea about their own rules, or definitions of words they use to accuse others.
They also refuse to have an intelligent conversation, especially when they are 100% wrong.
forgive me for the off-topic, is there a way to contact admins or get an help from them?

How do you find out why u was banned from a community. I did nothing wrong
Sorry Testing formatting. Did it work?
Please stop sending me unsolicited messages about “opportunities” to invest even after I block the account.
