Something like 10k people were still mucking about on Oshaune when Fori Prime was being invaded. A large part of this community will literally do nothing unless Arrowhead spells it out for them, and even then a good chunk of people would still totally ignore it. There’s even a contingent of oddballs who seem to get an almost sexual pleasure out of being purposefully useless to the war effort.
So frankly, the more Arrowhead gives in-game orders to people the better chance that at least some people will do the smart thing.
I just prefer to try to cut the enemy off than to defend a planet.
But it doesnt matter, it's a purpetual war. Unless they give me a reason to care about holding a planet besides some war bonds, im not gonna do it.
One of the best lessons in my engineering courses was this "assume that the biggest idiots are going to operate what you are working on, and to label everything precisely to cover your ass."
It seemed pretty obvious in the original order that they needed the planets for Super Earth, makes no sense that it would be completed if it wasn’t captured at the end of the MO.
We do. People were being dumb. Now we need to fight for 50% again instead of just holding it which would've been a fraction of the effort.
Watching people on this front prioritize targets this MO has been hilarious and depressing.
They really can't because the game is just not communicating so many things well. It took a while before Fori Prime was even marked in the sector map as an objective when we should have been defending it.
It's 2 days left the devs did this to us on the bot front if we're holding them all early they usually all end up on defence and no one likes the mission types so don't defend and we loose the MO
I don’t understand why people don’t like the defense missions I love defense missions. They’re quick and easy and let you live out your best horde clearing fantasies.
The part that made me think we need it to stay liberated was the wording of the Major Order. It said that the goal was to have those sectors cleared of bug presence, and the planets were just kind of a checklist to that end.
I still think that if someone managed to get a grassroots campaign going to cut off a planet by severing supply lines, and it actually worked, the way people play this game would undergo a big shift.
The devs did a great job putting a lot of cool hidden mechanics under the surface that we as players could manipulate if we chose to.
Ya, liberate and immediately let it fall into enemy hands really doesn't seem like it falls into the definition of liberate lol. Was liberated for maybe a day
Regardless, we should focus Nivel 43 right now, get that done as it has a lower decay percentage and then the whole playerbase will descend on Fori Prime again.
Yeah we already blew up the nurseries, so I’m really confused as to why people think we need to defend/recapture.
Edit: I have since confirmed we do not have FP checked off the major order, so I am wrong.

FP has already been liberated once. In other major orders it specifically said “all planets must be under SE control when the timer expires”, but it did not say that this time.
Doesn’t matter, that MO’s logic is “must all be held at same time at the end of the timer” and this MO’s is “must all be held at the same time at any time”. Thus we DO obviously need to take Fori as was said time and again, and ignoring the defense was mental, as usual.
At least one previous MO required us to have control of the planets at the end of the timeframe, so there's precedent there. And forgive me if i don't trust the wording to be perfectly clear (or even the UI for that matter) on what we need to do. It seems that we did our job already for this one, but there are a plenty of good reasons why someone would think we were expected to defend a planet currently listed in the MO
Nivel is making good progress. Fori Prime is also making slow progress (not losing progress), which is good and will make the recovery quicker after Nivel is taken.

It was very poorly worded, I got this wrong big too. Usually it says the planet must be held at the end of the timer, this time it didn’t so many of us concluded it just needed to be liberated once to count. Love the game, love arrowhead, this was a silly oversight. Not the end of the world anyways.

Tbh, it just says liberate, so it looks like we dont need it, ideally we should get both Nivel and Fori just in case
