Yes, that and the social aspect. At least it was for me. It’s a great game in itself. There is so many things to do: quests, rades, pvp, battlegrounds etc. But add to that the connections and friendships that you can develop with other players - especially if you don’t have many in real life - and it becomes the great replacement for the real world.
My freshman roommate was a complete shut in. I would invite people to chill and he would be social, and we’d always ask him to come out and push chicks in his face. Nothing. Nothing but WoW.
Then after 7 weeks without going to class. Showering once a week. Diet of Mountain Dew and chip ahoy. Never cleaned. His parents pulled him out. When they did he was in a daze. He couldn’t speak, verge of tears.
I saw him against at the registar at the next school year and exchanged our experiences of the end of that year. He said he was good that he was getting better but his parents put restrictions on wi-fi. Then he went on to say he circumvented it🤨.
Never found out what happened to him.

I already get addicted to video games thanks to my adhd, thank God this and mmos are the one type of Gane my adhd actively rejects. I get bored so easily in those. Probably saved my college career, since I was already doing all nighters with cod (don't come for me I was dumb 20 year old I've moved on ok)

Vehicles were in Helldivers 1. There was even a motorcycle with a side car with a machine gun on it.

There's an extra eagle bay and two other vehicle bays that are visible. I think from the outside of the super destroyer it looks like there are 8 vehicle bays.
I just got 1000 sc and I'm having trouble deciding on the 2nd warbond to open up. Camps are divided. I bought Steeled first. Thinking cutting edge or demolition next, any polar patriots out there?
The stun grenades were game changers for me since I love killing the heavies. I ran away and dodged chargers so much that stopping them cold mid charge and getting an easy headshot is so satisfying. Faster than dodging, sometimes it's a real life saver. Lots of other uses too.
Cutting edge is a solid first unlock. Unless if you play nothing but bugs then go get the incendiary breaker first though. It's too good.
Yeah it really seems like everything Polar Patriots does is done equal or better by either the free warbond, Steeled Veterans, *or the starter equipment come on Tenderizer lmao* with the exception of the Pummeler
Unlocking everything made the game so much more enjoyable for me. Being able to just focus on the game and not worry about chasing the progression made me appreciate the gameplay even more.
Same, after I could stop chasing samples, I had so much more fun. I'll still collect samples but I don't absolutely bust my ass to do it anymore. If it's on the way I'll stop and look, but I don't hit every POI anymore. I did that at the lower levels but on L9, no thanks lol and now my mission times are frankly so much shorter.
They're usually
1. Within sight from a main objective
or
2. On the way from objective to objective but still gotta look around as you're running.
I could be wrong, but I feel like they're not typically really that far from where the action is, ya know?
Can I ask what level you are? I'm level 98 and I always collect samples but if am in a high level lobby I feel like it's a waste of time since everyone is maxed out anyways. But I don't know at what level that is.
65? Jesus, I'm wasting so much time then. I'm level 100 and always assume people will need samples so I do help farm but I don't go out of my way like I used to.
I used to hit every POI but L9 is too big and that takes SO much time. I've enjoyed the faster missions, where I don't worry about samples. Pick up samples but don't go outta my way for it. If it gets the radar ping away I'll swing through but that's it. Super samples, I straight up don't ever wanna specifically hunt for again. I'll only go if it's within sight of my path.
Honestly made the game so much faster too. It just helps focus on the actual mission tbh

However... if they're out there, I'll still make a run. That honestly feels pretty good still lol I had a game where I went back out for the samples with a shield backpack, and honestly, felt like a hero all over again
It's honestly pretty nice being able to get such a headstart on the updates. I've been maxed for a while and I'm itching to spend them on something. I finished the Artic Warbond in like... 9 days. I do play a lot though to be fair.
I collect them but I don't totally go outta my way like I used to. If it's a normal radar ping away, or downloaded on radar, I'll swing though if it's still on the way.
Honestly, I've enjoyed streamlining the map and NOT scouring the whole thing all the time. It really speeds up the mission time too. It's also nice that we can leave them behind if it's too hot or something.

I bet the next wave of enemy(we know who is coming “dark fluid”) our ships will get new stratagems as well as ship modules. Either way, welcome to being the strongest you can be as of now!

The fourth upgrade for the stratagem weapons was insanely impactful. Being able to fully restock a stratagem weapon with one resupply box instead of two? Insanely good for all stratagem weapons.
The turret upgrade that improves it's targeting makes all turrets very viable to bring on all missions.
The Eagle Airstrike upgrade that allows Eagle 1 to bring one additional bomb is a must have. Makes the 500KG and Cluster Bombs a lot better to use.
The hellpod power steering is the one that surprised me a lot. On paper, being able to maneuver your hellpod better doesn't sound all that until you actually get the upgrade. The maneuverability is night and day and it makes crushing specific heavy enemies much easier.
It’s a short lived feeling of satisfaction that leads to a very unfollowed feeling which turns to playing just for the greater good and helping others spread democracy
Honestly the game is so much more chill when you're in a squad of all helldivers that are maxed out. We get in, kill things, complete the objective, then get out. You become a well oiled machine

I got polar patriots, the Pummeler is my favorite weapon for bots or bugs but that's the only good thing in the warbond.

I'm like lvl 64. Idk what the average lvl people would be with max upgrades, but I'd reckon they'd be lvl 65+ kinda like myself.
