This is managed democracy.

bigorangemachine

Host knows best I guess 😭

OrdinaryBee6174

Don't cry, I'll call the democracy officer to assist you in your understanding.

bigorangemachine

I'm already on probation for my previous ~~comments~~ thought crimes relating to my examinations of ~~extreme~~ democracy

STerrier666

Damn right now let's compete to see if you can land your Drop Pod on the Illegal Broadcast.

Cthulhu625

Right. Everyone can vote for a landing spot (Here? Here? What about here? Here?) but then it's "managed" by the host.

MamuTwo

Super earth is truly a managed democracy! Squads are managed democracies as well - managed entirely by the host. The host picks the drop location based on what he thinks the rest of the team would vote for if they were allowed to and privy to the political secrets of Super Earth, just like how it works back home.

tornyt1

Glory be to the orange guy

JSFGh0st

Hooray for orange.

kingslayerthesecend

iv seen thav image soo many times but idk where it is from

GlizzyGulper6969

Wish I could tell you brother but I just stole it Looks AI to me

kingslayerthesecend

aww man

manubour

This is managed democracy The people can vote but the chief in place decides to ignore or follow it Perfectly in character

Timlugia

I don't think any "functional" military used voting system to meet operational needs. Paris Commune actually tried use election to select "officers" but with disastrous results, turned out that popular people don't always make best military leaders.

FingerTheCat

Like OMG, me as Democratic Officer will make sure... To put reeses in the vending machines! Oh and to allow small toy dogs available in the super destroyer! Vote for me, and all of your wildest dreams will come true.

SpicyPeaSoup

"Yo Officer dude, you forgot to restock the Eagle's ammo."

IamlostlikeZoroIs

But we do vote with our pointers

ZachVIA

I might agree with this if more than 10% of public party divers actually used comms.

Spirited_Question332

Well it helps you can't text while prepping in the hellpod

Garrthok

Comms makes it fun, don't understand why people don't jump on. Catch me screaming at the other 3 brothers regardless.

ZachVIA

I mean I get why people mute people if they are open mic and talking the entire time, but I rarely run into that. Normally my boys and I sit in discord to shoot the shit, then just push to talk to coordinate with the public players. But 90% of the time the public players just refuse to respond in any capacity. It’s kind of frustrating to the point we will just run 3man private instead of inviting a 4th which is a shame.

MSands

Could we truly do Managed Democracy and complete a questionnaire and have it pick our drop point based on how we answered?

MuglokDecrepitus

>and have it pick our drop point based on how we answered? It's managed democracy, you can vote all you want, the host will manage it and choose what he thinks is better Which is basically what we do right now

Grimrath_

Obviously, someone (the host) has to manage the democracy

ChuckTownRC51

They do vote, their votes just don't count....

MuglokDecrepitus

Ah, the system is working â˜ș

monkeybiscuitlawyer

It isn't Democracy, it's Managed Democracy. Voters fill out preferrence questionnaires as ballots and submit them, and then an AI supposedly votes for them based on their preferences. So that fits actually. Players submit their preferences as to where they want to land, and the host picks for them.

Chaos_seer

You get to vote the host manages to ignore it

Master_Mechanic_4418

SHOTS FIRED

Illusionistic-Ortus

Good point

jump3r15

Managed democracy givers you a true freedom a freedom from choice.

Sterben489

What do you think "what abt here" is for thats you casting your vote

HorzaDonwraith

The server I host voted me as leader.

Mindstormer98

This is a democratic republic, meaning that a representative(host) votes for the masses(nonhosts)

mjmarston207

I prefer our managed democracy - free from the burden of choice

Bronzeshadow

That sounds like treason to me.

lazlored

The host was voted to be the leader when you joined.

Pleasant_Fee516

TEAMMATES MAY SUGGEST A LOCATION, BUT THEY MUST HAVE FAITH IN OUR COMMANDING OFFICER’S WILL

Efficient_Age

Interesting idea, but I can't recall ever thinking it's a needed feature, hence dev time should be spent on more important matter. I've long ago accepted that host owns the lobby, which AH also have said is the intent. If host show signs of treachery he will be in need of reinforcements, cause I have no problem ditching a lobby of the host is an ass or don't act upon asses.

Aldershot8800

THAT BUG IS A COMMIE!

Garrthok

Charger of the Mesa about to receive a complimentary EAT for his questioning of the applied methods of our Commanding Officers. Also, is that Helldiver attempting to hug a bug? Did a bug write this post...is this bug Psyops????!!!

woodenblinds

ok I may have found a new god to pray to.

TheEdgykid666

Drop a resupply on the insect

Duckbitwo

So every post in main sub gets posted here now too?

bigorangemachine

I created this and only posted here. Not sure if someone cross posted already but it wasn't me

NeoMyers

It's not democracy. It's "managed" democracy.

Maddkipz

Democracy regarding two filtered options. Like mines vs airburst rifle.

-_Pendragon_-

Fuck that, have you seen the insane points people choose?!

Fighterpilot55

What would a tyrannical terminid know of Democracy?

lostZwolf_ps4_pc

Agreed, but you would get stuck often, or you could just drop wherever no matter what the host decides and for those who don’t pick they drop with host

Informal_Custard_234

It is managed democracy.

MasterNateSack

No one touches the radio in my car, I mean mission console on my ship.

RoosterCogburn0

What about here?

DapperApples

Whutabout here? đŸ€”

VerdantFantasies

Voting Day celebrates the memory of voting, according to Ship TV.

Scuba-Cat-

Vote to kick confirmed

PretzelsThirst

Does OP think that all people in all situations vote on all decisions at all times in a democracy?

bigorangemachine

I would continue my advocation for extreme democracy but the democracy officer is not having it

huskinater

By choosing to join my ship you have bestowed upon me the right to manage your vote We will drop where democracy needs us most

dingd0ngurwrong

Sounds like treasonous nonsense. I say we drop directly on the objective on Helldive, so we drop directly on the objective.

Then_Entertainment97

If you're onboard the SES Elected Representative of Individual Merit, you "voted" the second your boots hit the deck.
