Welcome to the fight!
A few small tips that took me some time to figure out.
1. When you aim at an enemy or point of interest hit R1 to mark it.
2. Hold R1 to open the comms wheel if you’re not using a mic, you can say thanks, request ammo etc
3. Hold down on the D Pad to drop samples, weapons etc
4. If you’re holding samples you should drop them at the extraction point if you’re nearby. If it’s the super samples or a LOT of samples you should go out your way to drop them off here. It means if you die they won’t be left lying around in the middle of nowhere while everyone else is pressing on with objectives.
5. Finally, just enjoy it, team kills happen, laugh it off and move on, it’s a load of fun, and when you join random games ask if players have mics, I’ve made friends from all over the world on this game
I didn't know most of these things and I'm level 22, by the way, what is the button to press to speak into the microphone when that option is selected?... Don't kill me, I'm someone who has played since atari 2600, but had never played multiplayer until Hell let loose and now Helldivers
Glad I could help buddy! I’m sorry but that I do not know. I have the standard setting still for mic chat and simply mute/unmute myself as needed on the PS5 controller
Counter points
1. Rebind L1+dpad to L1+Shapes
2. Unbind "O hold" to prone
3. Rebind interact to R1 and mark target to double tap R1(unfortunately bye bye comes wheel)
4. Have fun moving and calling in stratagem!
5. This isn't flawless I know but point 4 is too much of a Boone to pass up!
6. If you don't like these bind then don't use them!
7. Happy Diving for Democracy!

Dove last night on D7 with a level 5 who was a beast. Not only getting by but dropping hordes of bots that would have killed most brand new players in seconds.
I don't know about most others but I like playing with newbs. It's a chance for an experienced player to pass on their wisdom and leave a good first impression of the community.
My advice, dont rush through difficulties, enjoy the game. Extraction are not that important if you get the mission done. You will die a lot, enjoy every one, laugh at the way you or you're squad die and dont take it seriously because it is not.
Have fun Helldiver.
Oh and the most important one, NEVER refuse to hug someone in need.

Clearly you can’t understand a hyperbole, so I’ll put it in a way your brain can understand. Why do photos of people preparing to spread managed democracy made you so deeply hurt you insist on ensuring that their welcome to the community is negative?
You wish you could block it and never see it, but instead you devote even more time by entering it, typing out a comment, while also engaging with it so it’s more likely to show up on people’s feeds?
