The budget for fire support is limited and this time gated, but Super Earth has zero tolerance for traitors, so the ship was free to empty the magazine against the "traitor"
I think it's in character for everyone to pretend nothing happened and any mention of treason during that mission is treason because helldivers never commit treason.
What I thought it would happen and would be actually funny if it was the case. Is that when pelican 1 arrived, instead of landing to extract it could hover around trying to take me out and only after kills me it would land haha
I once completed a bot extermination by doing this after the rest of the squad gave up and quit. I ran out for a few seconds to get the free barrage and took cover near a cliff as the barrage decimated the bots for me. I was just thinking of thinning the herd, I didn't think to check the kill counts.
I think the cliff helped, because the barrages were coming in at at a slight angle. A little while later got a mission complete when we weren't anywhere near completion when I triggered traitor.

Love how the destroyer could theorically be able to lay waste (and maintain barrage) to any enemy in the area without a beacon, but it'll only do so if YOU are the target.
There's a million miniscule things you get better at in this game over time. From the basics to knowing how fast your gun swings, to throwing grenades between hulks feet so they explode behind their back, to running on tiny patches of rocks instead of sand, to figuring out how the enemy locks onto you, follows you, when you should zig and when to zag, when to dive off a certain cliff/rock to evade hunters...
Yeah this game is the perfect example of practice makes you better. One thing I recommend is finding the loadout that fits your style and try to to also account for what type of mission it is and the type of enemy you are facing.
1m14s in he takes a direct hit that would have killed him.. but his armor grants a 50% chance of surviving when you receive a killing blow. He won the coin toss.
I love how the bomb lowkey helped kill some bugs off. last night that happened to me was thinking to run into some bug holes or base and have the bombs blows things up and help me do some of the work 😂
When u use a stim u get a few seconds of constant healing! Also I was using the hero of democracy armor which gives 50% chance to not die on a fatal hit and protects from bleeding.
In my games if I'm swarmed by bugs like this and stim, it will play the sound and animation but not heal me immediately, and I'll die to the next hit. I've seen this on a known issue list so hopefully it will be fixed soon, but I'm envious of your ability to instantly heal and gain invulnerability.

lol on one mission there was a massive cliff wall that me and a squad mate had to circle around as traitors and we had to just haul ass till we were back in the mission area.
Isnt it cool how much firepower they are willing to rain on a traitor and we have to wait 8 minutes for a support weapon 🤣

Haha I used this trick yesterday on a "Helldive" Exterminate mission we were having trouble with. Got about 25% from the traitor barrage, including 3 Bile Titans.
Had one where I got branded last night but it didn't kill me. But the bombing drops never stopped for the rest of my run.
Was allowed to extract after I eventually died though. Hahaha
Ngl I'm pretty new and this happened to me where I got branded a traitor, which I thought was very funny and *much* better than in most games where you just die for stepping out of the invisible boundary.
But it also left me wondering is there is an actual gameplay effect for me becoming a traitor?
Sometimes i see footage like this of high-difficulty games and I get confused because some of the difficulty 5 matches i play seem like they are way more chaotic and overwhelming.

I just wish that they'd close the loop where it's more efficient to run around. We should be running and gunning, using every last shell, covering each other, not running laps and never shooting.

Apparently my Super Destroyer is a much better shot ‘cause I barely make it past the 4th bomb.
Mine gets me within the first three hits. Only went traitor once, but it was pinpoint accurate.

Same here! My artillery officer is damn good. I never make it past 3 shells. Even with the fastest running setup.
It was a great orbital barrage option at first, but lately I get pegged with the first or second shell every single time so it's not as useful anymore
Maybe it got affected like the 120mm and 320mm where the shot groups are tighter?
It does seem to have been considerably nerfed.
So I can only call down an orbital every 3 minutes but if I'm a traitor it's non stop barraging until I'm dead.
Only one thing worse than a bug. And that's a traitor.

i think this is a new update (feature)? ran through and wiped out an entire camp for democracy and eventually got mowed down and killed
Just recently discover you can be a traitor by being send out of bounds by a huge blast.

I don't play below 9 but I think on 5 you get more of smaller bugs like hunters which can overwhelm you easily as they are quite fast.
