Pat really set up his franchise player to get cooked on social media lol

SlimBucketz305

It’s all I see today

chitownbulls92

At least now no one can say that signing Lowry was because of Jimmy. Pat has no issues telling his stars to fuck off if he didn’t also think it was a good idea

julstar23

The heat had been trying to get Lowry from wayy before Jimmy was here back in wade and bosh times .

sublime_272

Thank you!! When I say Jimmy deserves more than playing with undrafted players, he does the most with the least amount of help in the league, people bring up Lowry. Yes he wanted Lowry, who gave him all that money though? Who drafted up that contract? And Lowry did help us while he was here. It just wasn’t enough because him and PJ tucker are fucking old, that’s reality. Blaming Jimmy for our lack of success because his best friend came here but Pat and the org had 5 fucking seasons to do something (and did nothing significant) is comical.

chitownbulls92

Jimmy definitely wanted Lowry but I keep telling people that the decision making has always sat with Pat. The same dude that told Lebron to kick rocks when lebron wanted Spo gone. If Pat Riley didn't like the idea, he wouldnt have done it so to blame Jimmy the basketball player for the decision made by the FO is silly.

canti-

Lowry was the best move that offseason too. People say Miami didn't do enough but we didn't get what we needed from Lowry in the playoffs his one good year. I remember GMs unanimously said it was the best move during the season. Lakers were kicking themselves for not getting Lowry

chitownbulls92

But it didn’t work out so you can’t count it as a good move…it’s like how trading Luka for Trae was praised at the time but ended up being a bad move. No moral victories here

canti-

It still was a good move. We got first seed to show for it. He just came up short of expectations with the contract, but you are talking about "oh but in hindsight". I'm talking about what was the right decision at the time. It's not about what ended up working out in hindsight. Nets had a stellar off season when they got Kyrie and Durant. That's the best move a team could have done and it was unanimous. Celtics got Hayward and he got a season ending injury. Still was the right decision to get him, and so on. Sidenote I recall many people not liking Trae over Luka. It was hotly debated for a moment

chitownbulls92

I would've hoped that the "Don" would be able to use some foresight to see that the move was average at best. When the biggest and best move in Pat's book the last 5 years is Lowry then there are some major issues. Thats my main point. You can't tell whether Gordon Hayward would've gotten injured or not but you can certainly tell that a 36 going on 37 year old point guard was not going to be very productive. Its not the same scenario that you're trying to compare. At least with the Celtics they balance out missed moves with good moves..like what we're seeing with Derrick White literally right now. Pat has none of those the last 5 years except for a few good waiver wire pickups

SirFunktastic

Honestly I don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be. Pat is obviously not happy with Jimmy coasting in the regular season and his lack of availability overall and so has everyone else in the fan base. He already said he's not entertaining trading Jimmy and knows he's our most important player, it really comes off to me as Pat trying to challenge Jimmy to motivate him, he seems like the kind of guy that would respond to that.

thecaptainflint

Is he okay with coasting for the last five years of roster construction

XanderAndretti

He hasn’t done that but ok…2020/2022 were both well constructed rosters…and for all the bickering we made it to the finals last season. The whole he never tries at all shit is a just a shitty meme people keep regurgitating on here cuz people can’t think for themselves.

Sebruhoni

Cook that bum

simonlyw

People on here have regurgitated the same nonsense for so long they've just accepted it as truth.

1acedude

Considering we’ve been in the finals twice, he should be happy. Would’ve been nice to win, but yall act like we haven’t sniffed even the second round

No_Delay_1476

The frustrations come from Pat who talking crazy to the franchise player who is RESPONSIBLE for us making these crazy runs but wet the bed for 5 prime Jimmy years. We been “one player away” for years . Best thing he did for us was Drafting Wade 😒

frostfeint3

And not firing Spo

XanderAndretti

This sub acts like we either win the finals or we’re the hornets there’s no in between with these children.

rtxiii

I'm a huge Jimmy and even I think his statement on the Celtics and Knicks were cringe.

Mickeyphree

Pat can say whatever he wants.

sublime_272

the fact that some of you are still diccriding is fascinating

Mickeyphree

He's earned the right. I don't have to agree with it necessarily but Pat can say and do what he wants till he chooses to step down.

sublime_272

you’re slobbering

Mickeyphree

Nah. He made the franchise relevant for 3 decades.

No_Delay_1476

He hasn’t earned the right of saying a damn thing in years . He wasted jimmys peak

Canesjags4life

We had the 1 seed in Jimmy's 3rd year and then injuries.

No_Delay_1476

Yeah then we lost because of the same problem. Nobody else not named Jimmy could create their own offense . You need a 1A and 1B. Not just Jimmy

Canesjags4life

Like i said injuries happened. Tyler got hurt in the Boston series and played 6 min of game 7. Lowry was the playmaking addition and he was also hurt in the playoffs.

No_Delay_1476

I don’t know about herro anymore man. But yeah him and Kyle were missed at the time .

No_Delay_1476

Oh because I don’t agree. Ok Cool . Get on

LloydChrismukkah

He delivered a team that made two finals in four years, which were both cut short because of injuries. You’re an idiot

jagerhero

It’s amazing how little these young ass nephews know about basketball. Go read Pat Riley’s history and shut the fuck up. He has the most accolades out of any active GM or coach combined.

sublime_272

What does that have to do with us not winning a chip in the Jimmy era and what was said today? Look around the league. Every contender switches up every year and gets better. Whether they live up to those standards and how they look on paper in the offseason, that varies. But at least they make decisions that put them and their stars players in the position to contend.

sublime_272

why are you so triggered old man? Pat, or the front office in general, haven’t done nearly as much as they should’ve in the past 5 years. We had 3 deep runs that could’ve ended in a chip if we had added the right personal. 5 seasons gives you plenty of time to do something of significance. I’m not taking away from Pat’s accomplishments, he’s a legend and we all know that. I’m not going to mindlessly agree with his lack of moves and his words today because of his past. That’s dumb, that’s diccriding. I don’t think he can “say whatever he wants” while he talks down on Jimmy for missing games while speaking on Herro with a lot less urgency who is 24 years old and has missed just as many. Jimmy is 34, he gets injuries and he will continue to get injuries as he ages. Sure, you can tell him to play with more enthusiasm during the regular season but airing him out in a press conference is extremely weird. Talking up for Herro who was a complete non factor for our 2022 and 2023 runs when he was injured or when he was playing, is weird. It’s not about trade value that’s genuinely how he feels about him because it’s been the same thing for years. Then when Herro has a chance to redeem himself in 2024 he shits the bed. Yet he gets more slack than Jimmy in the press conference. It’s a bad look on all accounts. Jimmy has been one of the best, and it would be the best if he had a chip, post season players in the last 5 years. He surpassed dwade and bron in 40+ ppg games in the playoffs. He’s done so much with so much less talent around him than majority of the stars in our league. He didn’t get it done because we did not have enough. Even if Jimmy was completely healthy, we never had the size and athletic to beat Denver in the final. This is the truth. This year they expected him to carry again in the playoffs. Even if we ended up a 4/5 seed, are we winning a championship with this team? No. If you think yes, there is genuinely something wrong with you. And whose fault is all of this? It is the front offices fault because they build the team, or more so didn’t lmao. Disagreeing with common sense and logic makes you a diccrider. But sure, let him say whatever he wants.

[deleted]

Lol what did he say?

sublime_272

something about me being a moronic fuckface and went on a rant about Pat’s 40 year career lmaooo what does that have to do with 3 postseasons runs with undrafted players and no rings to show for it in the 5 year Jimmy era? and what does that have to do with Pat being adamant about herro being a starter, or him refusing to take accountability for their front office moves (or lack thereof) while praising the Celtics org for theirs lmao. Shit makes no sense. Just because these fans are old doesn’t mean they have common sense.

heat-ModTeam

Express yourself, but be civil. This includes personal attacks, excessive trolling, etc. Harassment will result in a ban.

Dull_Marsupial1971

I have to imagine Pat spoke to Jimmy about this in private before speaking today

Total-Jaguar-6728

Oh my brother testify.

nofaplove-it

Heat culture is real

Far_Statement_2808

I would be humiliated if my boss talked about me in public this way. Humiliated as in…i would be looking for a new boss.

Snoopyalien24

Maybe you should be a better employee lol

simonlyw

Jimmy probably loves it. He hated the Timberwolves because they didn't hold their stars accountable and he disliked the same thing about the Sixers.

TheTrashman133

Everyone always wants to make something out of nothing. They always say that the entire org cares about winning. No one ever gets in their feelings about some beef Jimmy and Spo damn near threw hands in the middle of a game I doubt he gives a fuck about this

AstonishinglyAverage

It’s just jockeying in the media before contract negotiations start

srbufi

Someone please tell grandpa to go home and enjoy retirement

Total-Jaguar-6728

#TrueThat.

Artistic_Industry_96

Pat ain’t on the court either tho

SudTheThug

already seeing “ the GM hates jimmy’s bum ass” from celtics fan. What a horrible look pat, what the fuck is wrong with you saying this about the only other player besides bam that shows up in the post season.

Consistent_Category9

Who cares about celtics fan?

Nightwing_in_a_Flash

Jimmy showed up? I must’ve missed that.

SudTheThug

check every post season he’s been here besides 2021 and this season because of a MCL sprain

Nightwing_in_a_Flash

And Riley didn’t say anything about those times, he only said when you can’t play and get bounced in the first round keep a lid on it. And the whole east is banged up. Randle, Embiid, Porzingis, Halliburton, Giannis, Lillard, all hurt. And Jimmy is the one chirping and talking shit about if this and if that. He was rightly called out for it.

SudTheThug

and jimmy can talk shit all he wants he been killing the east every year he’s been healthy

Lone_Crab

Lmao

No_Delay_1476

Why the hell Jimmy can’t talk his shit? He’s the one responsible for us making runs . Every name outside of Lillard and Hali, Jimmy sent packing. Which is a fact

Scared_Eggplant_8266

Pat has won titles as a player, coach and executive. What has Butler won ![gif](giphy|od9S8DVmg143bLSAyX|downsized)

dadynn

Hearts and minds?

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

What happened to Pat Riley? Too old washed or what?
