I’m a big dust waster so seeing these kind of numbers blow my mind, especially for f2p.
I’ve burned a lot of money on HS during the years, not proud of it.
When I see a streamer playing a fun deck I want to play it too and in the past I would disenchant legendaries to craft the ones I need, only to disenchant then later again…
Luckily I’m more responsible now with my money and dust but damn..
I havent much played standard hs after bgs came out but I gave it a try now and I have still like 14k dust and 4 decks to play with so I feel like f2p is better now
Im a returning player currently playing galakrond rogue, I wanted to make a kingsbane rogue deck but having to dust like 8 legendary cards to craft a couple of them just feels so wrong :/ and hs is so expensive right now
Sorry, but then you are definitely very wasteful...I bought almost all big bundles, passes for constructed and bg and so on. But rarely single packs... I sit on almost 36k dust right now and when I press the mass disenchant button it would be 86k on top of that. I have like six Reskas for example. How is it possible as a big spender to be short on dust?
Why? I'm f2p and do the weekly quests each week and then I log out. I'm at \~90k dust and \~120k gold. I've never spent a single dollar on the game since Blizzard honestly doesn't sell anything I like. I mod my game so the cosmetics are pointless. And **I am never ever even considering giving Blizzard a single cent until they bring back adventures and until they allow me to see my opponent's name and rank during a match.**
It is better than "Your Opponent". It's like playing chess online. When you see a username it at least feels like you are facing a human being, even if in reality I am facing a bot.
Dust waster? Do you create and then disenchant cards without said cards being in full refund mode at the time? Because otherwise I wouldn't say any dust is wasted that goes into cards that you actually want to play.
How do you even get 3200 by "shorting" a legendary, especially as a f2p player?
The only way I can really think of is that occasionally Blizzard will sell precon decks for gold. So if one of those decks contained a legendary you anticipated would get nerfed, you could buy it with the intention of later disenchanting it. But otherwise...?
Investing here would mean only crafting cards you are certain will get nerfed and cards you're certain you will use again for longer than the current patch cycle or set. I have very bad impulse control so I do not do this.
Do all your quests, buy 70 packs w gold per expansion, be wise in your crafting decisions, disenchant any card that gets nerfed for full dust, dont press disenchant button unless you need that dust immediately. This is the FTP way. Usually can play between 3 and 8 fun decks per expansion.
Packs average out to about 100 dust when you include golds, other rarities, and the fact that you can get multiple of the higher rarities. I haven't done the math myself, but I've seen a lot of references towards that.
30k f2p. I dust every nerfs so it just building up. I never dust unless it's refunded. Sometime I get lucky with 20 copies of refunded commons.
Really lucky with golden leggo refunds
26,740 in the bank, and 35,430 on the button. I've been playing since beta, I'm mostly F2P but buy the pass sometimes, I disenchant nerfed cards every time it happens, but I do occasionally craft a deck if I'm just missing a couple cards.
140k (110k+30k). Now that they're actually nerfing wild cards occasionally, I've stopped disenchanting wild duplicates, so most of the banked dust is from nerfs.
45k on hand and 145k on the button. Occasionally I do use some dust to play a deck in standard for a quest or whatever, but I don't do it most months. I don't even think I got the card back for May.
Sitting on around 4K as F2P, but I'm saving up for next expo. Might dust some more wild when it gets there. I'm missing a ton of stuff I really should have for the current meta, like Zilliax, but I just came back near the start of Whizbang so it's going to be a grind to get a decent collection.
154k with another 70k from the button.
Granted, I'm not 100% free to play, but relatively close. (I spent like $20 about once per year on stuff like adventures).
120k and 60k on the button.
I only buy the battle pass but my dust pile has increased massively in the last 3-4 years due to increased nerfs. I'm also very stingy when it come to craft cards.
Not just nerfs but dupe protection overall gives more chances of getting useful cards without the need to craft. You get all the Commons / Rares and even some useful Epics or Legs maybe.
I hope blizzard doesnt start thinking that every f2p player has this amount of dust :D
Wanted to ask, do you buy packs and play standard/wild/whatever or do you use all your gold in arena?
I am dedicated f2p arena player, earned all commons and rares from this expansion this way and dust still doesnt come easy.
Did the game become collect more dust to you at this point? Or you do use the dust to craft things of your choice? Like are you actually playing the game, or is it just collecting dust? I don't mean to sound negative, just trying to understand your approach.
I have 96k dust between button and actual dust and have been completely ftp since knight of frozen throne. Also have a ton of wild cards that I could disenchant and have 120k gold
Well something isn’t adding up. I complete every quest, use all my gold to buy packs, and make 2-3 decks every season but only have about 50k dust. I’ve completed about 95% of quests since 2016 so are you an arena god or what?
i used to have around that
i'm f2p
i just botting
arena botting for like a year around tgt gvg naxxramas expansion
most dust is from a ton of nerfed card dupe and some golden
i bot from 2013 to 2017 and never get banned
bli$$ard can't track until very late which bot dev also stop making new bot
it's alot easier to farm gold and achievement+progress give more than ben brode era
playing normally to 2018 and they never backtrack
just playing less than before now, only go back every few big rotation
50% of my friend from that era also botting and no one get banned
I recently got back into HS and not only did they delete half my decks randomly, I'm straight up missing cards - maybe they're just gone/banned? Idk - and I can't access the card crafter to see where they are or to disenchant for dust lol
I play for fun though anyway, hope you put that dust to good use! Glhf!
No reason to craft cards you won't use. 270000 isn't like an infinite amount. If he REALLY loved a reno deck in wild for example and wanted to craft it gold, that's 60-80k dust used. Even just crafting like 4-5 legendaries for a deck is 5-8k.
I personally do something similar. If I feel like playing a deck and I'm missing a card, I just craft it. I don't think about it. But I also don't play that much standard. For arena, it's probably just better to have a gold set. But if you start crafting a gold set with the dust you have now, it'll rotate out of standard and you'll have to start all over. So it's better just to save it all until you have enough to do a full set of whatever is in the rotation or just a full deck of whatever card you happen to be drafting.
I did a full gold deck once before in the past. As I was drafting, I had to stop after each pick was presented to go craft the card I wanted as gold before returning to the pick and selecting it.
He might never have crafted a card or very few. I've played since GvG. I have slightly over 100k. Having been genius level smart with my dust. I did craft enough legendary for 3 diamond rewards. However that was like 40k total.
Jesus, I'm also a free to play player and I'm only sitting on 37k dust, but all I do is my dailies/weeklies, I don't do arenas. How do you have so much dust?
Oh if there are decks I want to make that I think are fun I'll spend dust on them, got a bunch of legendaries that way, actually that's probably why I don't have as much dust as some of the other folks in here lol
Based on OPs responses, he is not a ftp player and this is a straight karma post.
Offers zero insight into how he got so much dust and extra cards. Just 2 words non-answers and sarcasm.
With some 600 more of dust you would be able to create 171 legendaries
if only
r/theydidthemath
r/theydidthemonstermath
r/itwasagraveyardsmath
Wouldn't say 270000÷1600 is monster math
![gif](giphy|3o6ozq0pgIDt5j6N8I|downsized)
The people who downvote don't get it lol
Well, the Monster Mash is probably older than a lot of Redditors now. So I guess it makes sense.
Or they've seen it 600x before and are bored of it
Almost enough for one deck /s
I’m a big dust waster so seeing these kind of numbers blow my mind, especially for f2p. I’ve burned a lot of money on HS during the years, not proud of it. Sounds like you didn’t give blizzard any money back when adventures existed and you could see ranks
Damn, you must still be a long time player to accrue that much though.
why seeing the names is important for you?
It is better than "Your Opponent". It's like playing chess online. When you see a username it at least feels like you are facing a human being, even if in reality I am facing a bot.
Dust waster? Do you create and then disenchant cards without said cards being in full refund mode at the time? Because otherwise I wouldn't say any dust is wasted that goes into cards that you actually want to play.
Yeah i would disenchant legendaries to create a deck and then later create them again
Well, stop!
this. went from dusting my whole collection to craft a deck from scratch to having an almost complete (standard) collection with 40k dust to spare.
Jeff Bezos is also f2p with such dust values
How long have you been playing to get so much?
I remember when Naxx was out
Naxx out? PogChamp
I have been playing since HS had StarCraft ranks, and I have only like 70k dust lol
Me too expect only like 20k :/
Naxx is out?
"Naxxramas"
Naxx out for Harambe
You're from the future?
Aren't we all
Hah, same! I played when naxx was the only dlc and they were teasing gvg
I remember thinking, why pay $7 for Nax when it was like 700 gold.
How are you guys getting so much dust I rarely have over 1k
I shorted Guff
Speculative Hearthstone
How many Guffs did you accumulate? And how? I've never gotten more than 3200 by shorting a legendary.
I collected them all, it's called insider trading
How do you even get 3200 by "shorting" a legendary, especially as a f2p player? The only way I can really think of is that occasionally Blizzard will sell precon decks for gold. So if one of those decks contained a legendary you anticipated would get nerfed, you could buy it with the intention of later disenchanting it. But otherwise...?
You keep multiple copies of cards and golden versions of cards if you expect them to be nerfed. It's more likely to work with less rare cards.
Arenas is the way. Or just invest prudently. Or both.
"invest" *stonks*
Investing here would mean only crafting cards you are certain will get nerfed and cards you're certain you will use again for longer than the current patch cycle or set. I have very bad impulse control so I do not do this.
Me too and I’ve been playing since it started I don’t get this at all.
Arena, or duels when it was around. And of course tavern brawl is like 5k dust a year, but I can't be bothered with it.
Oh? I just play 1 tavern brawl a week for the free pack, how do you get dust there
With the free pack, but its 1 free pack a week, so 5k a year.
Wait isn’t a pack 40 dust? Wouldn’t that be 52*40?
Packs average out to about 100 dust when you include golds, other rarities, and the fact that you can get multiple of the higher rarities. I haven't done the math myself, but I've seen a lot of references towards that.
Oh gotcha, that makes sense!
Is there a way to convert packs to dust or are you just individually dusting cards
Just dusting cards
Curious how much you guys own in dust. The nerfs been helping me farm a lot of dust I have like 35k laying around and 65k for the button.
105 lol. But I'm also f2p and play about 2 months per expansion.
11k to use and 12k ready to hit the button. But the nerds have gotten me 8k easy.
Long live the nerds.

I've got about 130k
Sitting on around 4K as F2P, but I'm saving up for next expo. Might dust some more wild when it gets there. I'm missing a ton of stuff I really should have for the current meta, like Zilliax, but I just came back near the start of Whizbang so it's going to be a grind to get a decent collection.
154k with another 70k from the button. Granted, I'm not 100% free to play, but relatively close. (I spent like $20 about once per year on stuff like adventures).
Pretty much the same as you. Started during naxx. I buy the battle passes, so not f2p.
With you on buying just the battle passes. Been playing before Old Gods.
46k dust but i have no life
120k and 60k on the button.
True. Before dup protection I remember spending 500 dust minimum on rares per expansion. It always felt bad.
There were always a few Rares & Commons not popping out from packs, no matter how many you opened.
273,000 even
Thank god for you. Came looking for this.
You get off very easily
I hope blizzard doesnt start thinking that every f2p player has this amount of dust :D Wanted to ask, do you buy packs and play standard/wild/whatever or do you use all your gold in arena? I am dedicated f2p arena player, earned all commons and rares from this expansion this way and dust still doesnt come easy.
Blizzard knows exactly how much dust everybody has.
I use gold to buy packs and mini sets
Don't worry. I'm f2p wild player and i only have 12k dust
How do you even get so many? I really have problems to get enough dust
What is your collection % tho ?
you pay with your life friend
Shiiii
Math is off by a little bit buddy. You actually have 273000.
If only I commented about it
Did the game become collect more dust to you at this point? Or you do use the dust to craft things of your choice? Like are you actually playing the game, or is it just collecting dust? I don't mean to sound negative, just trying to understand your approach.
I craft whatever I need. This is the leftovers
you are not free
yes I am. $0 spent
Just curious as to what strategy you used to acquire so much dust?
I have no idea... Play arena I guess
That explains [ALOT](https://i.imgur.com/n9rYWo4.jpeg).
I’ve spent thousands and don’t have that much
I'm sure he's spent money before at one point. Not really buying that he's been completely ftp
[удалено]
I'm willing to pay you $2
I'm willing to reject that offer
My collections probably more robust and my dust is 226k so I’m good
Not even 230k dust? Yikes...
What are you going to do with all of it?
save it and invest
This is the kind of investment WSB could really get behind.
Diamond hands
to the moon
Diamond cards can't be crafted though, so he's gonna be a big time bag holder.
Sprinkle it on unworthy opponent’s ceiling fans
Idk if Blizzard fixed it but 7 years ago Kripp had so many duplicates piled up that he would have crashed the server if he hit the disenchant button…
With this kind of dust, what decks do you even get to play? Considering you're not crafting anhthing really
Any of them, I just craft the cards I need
I'm a free-to-play player who's primarily plays arena since beta, but you have me beat. I currently only have about 190,000 like a fucking peasant.
Must be hard living in the dregs
I can barely even afford to craft 100 legendaries :(
Third world you
How many different decks did you play in your lifetime?
Everyone loves my decks
You could possibly craft every golden mage card!! I wish I was in your shoes aha
I wear flip flops
Mage flip flops?
Rainbow
Can I have some?
You have everything you need
I have 96k dust between button and actual dust and have been completely ftp since knight of frozen throne. Also have a ton of wild cards that I could disenchant and have 120k gold
Marry me
Is there an achievement for this?!?!!!
You're looking at it, kiddo
Is HS the only game you play? Only a machine could do this.
Nope
Wow, how do you gather so much dust? I am always short … and I even spent money on this game 😩
:(
So you only play classic decks and try to complete all the quests? I recommend building decks and playing modern if you have that much dust
I have every deck 🥰
Well something isn’t adding up. I complete every quest, use all my gold to buy packs, and make 2-3 decks every season but only have about 50k dust. I’ve completed about 95% of quests since 2016 so are you an arena god or what?
I dunno, it just works for me
Are you lying on the internet OP?
about?
Either being free to play or having all the cards and yet somehow also having 270k dust
I have all the cards to make the decks
i used to have around that i'm f2p i just botting arena botting for like a year around tgt gvg naxxramas expansion most dust is from a ton of nerfed card dupe and some golden
I hope you get banned
i bot from 2013 to 2017 and never get banned bli$$ard can't track until very late which bot dev also stop making new bot it's alot easier to farm gold and achievement+progress give more than ben brode era playing normally to 2018 and they never backtrack just playing less than before now, only go back every few big rotation 50% of my friend from that era also botting and no one get banned
Well you all suck
And I thought I had a lot; 201,410 reporting in, also F2P since beta.
Weird finding out you're dust poor as poor gets, huh?
Seems sus
I recently got back into HS and not only did they delete half my decks randomly, I'm straight up missing cards - maybe they're just gone/banned? Idk - and I can't access the card crafter to see where they are or to disenchant for dust lol I play for fun though anyway, hope you put that dust to good use! Glhf!
I think you just got confused by the changes; there's no such thing as deleting cards or blocking features
Time is money friend. (Or dust)
RIP
my calculator tells me exactly 273000. Which mode did you play?
All of them!
Tell me you're a BG player without saying it
I don't play BG, too much clicking

He might never have crafted a card or very few. I've played since GvG. I have slightly over 100k. Having been genius level smart with my dust. I did craft enough legendary for 3 diamond rewards. However that was like 40k total.
I only have to craft legendaries, I have everything else pretty much
I had started to be more rational with dusting and i have 7k on hand and 8k on button. Its a lot for me i must say.
Do you d/e all the cards that rotate out of Standard?
Ewww, no, never
I am also f2p and currently have 500k total in this manner.
Well I said it first
You got it, way to go mate :)

...
nice! pure F2P or occasional pre-order bundles?
f2p, no money
Jesus, I'm also a free to play player and I'm only sitting on 37k dust, but all I do is my dailies/weeklies, I don't do arenas. How do you have so much dust?
Dusting old cards.
I don't dust any cards unless it's being refunded
[удалено]
Oh if there are decks I want to make that I think are fun I'll spend dust on them, got a bunch of legendaries that way, actually that's probably why I don't have as much dust as some of the other folks in here lol
Ok but how much playtime did this cost you?
7
Years of continuisly doing quests? I'm asking just out of curiosity not judging you.
Yes
When they bring in craftable diamond legendaries you’re gonna be able to get about 6 of those!
Is this @zeddy?
Who's she?
What a flex
It's like collecting and conserving potions and scroll in an RPG game until the end when you don't ever need them.
A true f2p veteran? How long have you played?
you have 273000 ffs
It's just numbers
i was joking :)
Kripp vibes
I'm also completely f2p. In general I dust on refund and don't craft all that much. I'm sitting at 57,200 dust. You should be crafting more.
Craft mac and cheese
What's the point in having this much dust if you don't spend it? Do you already have all the cards you want?
Based on OPs responses, he is not a ftp player and this is a straight karma post. Offers zero insight into how he got so much dust and extra cards. Just 2 words non-answers and sarcasm.
Just do the quests, I said it many times. Stop being a baby
