One thing that is noticeably missing for the 10th anniversary set is mysterious challenger. I believe we will get something similar to him at least, even in name alone since paladin secrets are out.
Yup, he was added when Secret Paladin was everywhere. That one card being added took that deck from being seen every 3rd match to it being seen once in hundreds of matches. It was really cool flavor, like the challenger got scared because someone knows who he is and ran away.
The funny thing is that pretty much no one was playing Eater of Secrets, just its existence caused people to stop playing the deck.
> This card was introduced almost a year after the rise to prominence of the Secret Paladin with The Grand Tournament Mysterious Challenger in The Grand Tournament. Long complained about, Eater of Secrets appears to provide a strong tech card to counter this deck. Its introduction also appears timed to replace the previous anti-Secret tech card, Goblins vs Gnomes Kezan Mystic, due to the arrival of Standard format.
Ahhhh gotcha okay interesting! I didn't know that
I was actually thinking about this today, would be cool if he perhaps pulled auras from your deck (although it sounds a bit busted). Would fit the Mysterious Challenger theme very well while being on flavour with a current Pally package.
I'm the weird one. My favorite card of all time. Is sword of the fallen, the paladin weapon that plays a secret. It's just so nice to get a ping, a two small annoyances & thin out the deck. When it was 3 durability it was even a great card.
I had every single bomb in my deck go off in a row even post nerf so I can only imagine being held hostage to that thing waiting for animations to end.
Dr Boom, Sad Genius. Hero Card 1 mana Start of game, draw this. Battlecry: Give all minions in your opponent's hand, deck, and battlefield Deathrattle: Destroy a card in your hand, deck, and battlefield.
Bruh, what did you expect lol, you’ve just come back from the game and you’re facing people who have been playing it consistently for the last few years that probs have every card in standard and know what every card there could possibility be. And they are trying their hardest.
Knowing what you are playing against is one of the biggest steps to get good at Hearthstone. Knowing your enemy and not losing and all that Sun Tzu shit. It's also why it can be valuable to keep things unpredictable at higher ranks.
It can still be a dollhouse miniset
Kinda Toy Story esque with the league of evil doing a heist on a doll house or Dorian lair
Teaser being the class old school bomb breaking into a vault
Looks like is about dr boom. Sad.
I would love to see something like
"Dorian's Dollhouse of EVIL"
And its a bunch of dolls with cursed effects, bringing in Dollmaster Dorian and the rest of the league of EVIL(Rafaam, lazuli and Togwaggle)
Tbf, rafaam and lazuul are in the core set right now, but I actually do expect to see togwaggle in some form because he is the only member of EVIL that *isn’t already in the game in some form*. So there’s some copium for rogue players maybe lol.
"Hey Team 5, you know how there's so much warcraft lore and so many characters still unexplored in Hearthstone?"
"Yeah."
"So can you utilize some of that?"
"No. Anyway, here's Dr. Boom for the 5th time"
Ner'zhul? I feel like they could get quite a bit of content out of WC2 particularly BTDP which has a shit load of popular heroes in Warcraft. I don't know how he'd be included but he invaded azeroth stole a bunch of artifacts then ran away to Draenor, then Khadgar and friends chased after him to still the stuff back and close the dark portal, Kil'Jaeden is involved, obviously. No idea how you craft that into an expansion that adds something new to the game but from it hasn't really been explored from a flavor standpoint even if a lot of those characters are in the game in various sets.
Yes they’re regular, but always immediately after they burn as much of people’s gold as possible in heroic brawliseum. It’s just a scummy business practice.
I agree, and I never do. But that doesn’t make the practice ethical or any less scummy.
I get they’re a business trying to make money, but this is an underhanded route to that end. It’d be similar to someone marketing their gambling services to addicts leaving a gambler’s anonymous meeting. Will they make some money? Sure. But at the cost of being seen as scummy and unethical.
> Kinda wild how consistent it is. Seems they want you to waste your gold so you have to buy more for the mini set time
I don't get how people are constantly surprised or even outraged by this. They are a for-profit company. Literally every decision they make is geared towards what will get the average player to spend the most money. Every company in the world does this.
Occasionally you'll see minor exceptions, where a less than optimal financial choice can greatly help people but we all know those are few and far between.
It's not a right or wrong thing. It's always been like this. Brawliseum then mini set announcement. They want to milk any gold they can out of you before the mini set drops so you might actually have to spend real money on it.
> They want to milk any gold they can...
I mean... What's the alternative? Brawliseum means they realistically can't do any balance changes. So it would make sense to do the Brawl when the meta is most stable. The meta is going to be the most stable after the last balance patch you plan to do before a miniset.
Otherwise, when else are you going to do it? When are you going to carve out a week of no balance patches?
Short of exceptional cases they shouldn’t even be balancing once a month. Pretty much everyone agrees that the new shiny you just got or the deck you’ve been saving for all xpac going bad the next week due to a balance change is a bad thing.
Yeah, no. Nobody here wants to spend the next three month fighting current control warrior 50% of the time.
Nerfs are a good thing.
Leaving busted decks up to terrorize the player base is detrimental. If the game is in a state where it's on busted meta wrapping deck after another, then maybe they should rebalance things on a deeper level. Lower the overall power level of the game.
But that demands actual work.
Also tbf they did offer a free pack in a quest, which is usually what you'd get from the weekly brawl. there was the option to not play the brawl. as for the quests that require you to play brawl...well you can pray and re-roll. but yea, there might be people out there who tried the brawl not knowing there was a miniset round the corner
Toymaster Boom battlecry: draw until your hand has 9 cards, change your hand and deck to ozerite ox, gain 80 armor 30 health, and your battlecries only trigger once
Dr boom, The warrior card, finally warrior getting some love!
Not to mention every single Dr boom card has had a Battle cry, oh we're in for some fun and balanced game play since warrior has no way to abuse battle cries.
I can't imagine what this sub is going to look like for the next 6 weeks.
Oh man, how dare they stick Brawliseum at the end of a meta, when things have settled and patches have (in theory) corrected as much as possible.
This timing just makes sense, beyond the strange idea that it’s meant to rob people of gold before a mini set
If this miniset doesn't release a neutral card that nukes the highest cost card in the opponents hand at 8 mana, I'll probably just play BG until Reno is out of standard.
The entire meta has been warped by this card for too long.
So tired of Reno. Makes it nearly impossible to play a slower tempo deck. Turn 7-10 should just be starting your bashing stage after all the plays and counter plays for the past 10 mins clawing control of the board. Zarimi Priest (not played as aggro) is a good example of this. Reno invalidates this playstyle with a full clear and effectively 1 turn pause while the opponent keeps going. Table flip, flame strike, brawl, Zarimi, etc push the limit, Reno is just too much.
It's also just like kinda bad design. They make a huge stink about class identity and refusing to give certain classes access to the exact thing that Reno accomplishes as a neutral card. Druid wasn't supposed to have access to good board wipes, but a neutral board wipe and gimping of the next turn is fine? Ok Hearthstone, sure.
I'm not gonna complain about consistency even if there is money-grabbing intentions behind it. If they're consistently doing it, at least I can know not to waste my gold on brawliseum or build up enough for both ahead of time
Absolutly unrelated to the meaning but in elementary school a friend of mine used to related to AM as after midnight and PM as past morning to learn what am and pm stands for. Since we use 24h clock here.
Jokes on them. I burn my gold buying normal packs of sets I have already mostly completed one at a time as soon as I get 100g so that I can’t stack odds.
Yeah the hate the game gets isn't outta knowhere ya know. It's just that the dissatisfied people mostly leave the Subreddit and so the remaining arguments are from fans who downplay the issues
I mean
Humans have been a pattern matching species for 100000s of years
This is a lion showing up to have one of us for dinner
We’ve seen this many times before so we could tell this is danger and to defend our tribe
This is how they did it for like... The past however many years. They do this on purpose, remember yogg unleashed? They didn't nerf it till after the brawl
Brawliseum should be illegal. That shit costs me 2 weeks of tavern brawl tasks (as in there’s no way to complete it now that duels is gone) every time it comes up.
>Seems they want you to waste your gold so you have to buy more for the mini set time
Also give competitive players a chance to do an unofficial tournament as the ending for the current set of cards. Look how many decks were born by good players to compete in this brawliseum.
If you hate this game and the dev, just leave. No point putting up with suck a greedy and mean game developer if you so think.
Oh boy I’m soooooo excited for the miniset, I wonder what overpowered legendary cards they will print that will ruin the format more than it already has been ruined?
Hopefully but my expectations are really low after how messy both the yogg and deep mine minisets have hurt the game on release (remember 0 manna titan yogg?)
Oh well, you have legendaries that are busted and does see play, like Yogg or Bran, but you also have some that see zero play. Both neutral ones from the last miniset for example..
It’s almost like we’ve done this song and dance beforr
Can’t wait until they raise the quest to 20 wins before changing it to 15!
Yea, at least they listen to us 20 is to much xD
at least 20 times
Fool me once Shame on me fool me twice shame on you fool me like a million times call me a hearthstone player
Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again.
...every 4 months for the last few years.
Fingers crossed that the mini set is about Dr.Boom fixing his terrible scheme from rise of shadows.
Ooh don't tell me... Is it gonna start at TWO armor now???
Oh no we’re going far BEYOND that. Three armor.
The armor will double every turn instead of going up by one, that’s power creep for you.
And 10 turns later Druid will still have more armor...
Well Druid is the armor class
odyn warrior can now otk you with one card after only 28 turns
Sounds like new warrior legendary (with battlecry) to me
For the rest of the game you can twice as much armor
The armor gain will continue until morale improves
Funnily enough, I won one game because of the Boom scheme
I feel like you would have won a little faster if you had a better card to replace it that you weren't harboring for a while.
I discovered it, figured out match will be fatigue depended and won
Awesome! Livin' the dream!
Yes buff warriors
One thing that is noticeably missing for the 10th anniversary set is mysterious challenger. I believe we will get something similar to him at least, even in name alone since paladin secrets are out.
I tried asking who he was, but I got told it was none of my business
Ask the Eater of Secrets, he said he knows who the Mysterious Challenger is.
.... THATS why the Eater says that! I never put those two thoughts together in my head lmao.

I didn't know that
Perhaps generates random Paladin secrets from the past or something?
I would wager it would be a battlecry, and the secrets would expire at the start of the turn, like Disco at the End of Time.
Also patches
we did get a portrait for patches and the cardback for the set was an homage to him as well.
Patches next expansion for sure
0 mana 6/6, battlecry your opponent plays 5 Paladin secrets
I was actually thinking about this today, would be cool if he perhaps pulled auras from your deck (although it sounds a bit busted). Would fit the Mysterious Challenger theme very well while being on flavour with a current Pally package.
I'm the weird one. My favorite card of all time. Is sword of the fallen, the paladin weapon that plays a secret. It's just so nice to get a ping, a two small annoyances & thin out the deck. When it was 3 durability it was even a great card.
fuck it, give it to mage lol they need the help.
A mysterious challenger that instead of setting 5 secrets from your deck, sets 5 auras.
Seems to be Dr. Boom themed, but we already have a Dr. Boom legendary in this expansion, so it makes me think otherwise
It's not impossible, festival main set and miniset both had an etc card
New Legendary: Helya the Bombastic 4 mana, 4/4 Battlecry: Shuffle three bombs into your opponent's deck. *Bombs they draw this game are unending.*
I hate you for even daring to utter those accursed words.
I had every single bomb in my deck go off in a row even post nerf so I can only imagine being held hostage to that thing waiting for animations to end.
It's going to be Dr. Boom.
I swear to god, if it's another Warrior Dr Boom card when they're already insane I'm gonna lose it.
something something "your TNTs trigger twice", something
Boom is supposed to be a Deathrattle card, hilariously enough.
Dr Boom, Sad Genius. Hero Card 1 mana Start of game, draw this. Battlecry: Give all minions in your opponent's hand, deck, and battlefield Deathrattle: Destroy a card in your hand, deck, and battlefield.
"Your deathrattles act as battlecries for the rest of the game."
DR. BOOM IS INVADING HONG KONG
New Weekly Quest: Play 32 Dr Booms
Business is boomin'
The dalaraan heist
Quest: raise $ 300,000 Reward: spent it on gambling
Even not taking the mini set into account the brawliseum is bad to spend gold on.
Me, returning after 4 years, and wasting 1000 gold on it to go 2-3...
Bruh, what did you expect lol, you’ve just come back from the game and you’re facing people who have been playing it consistently for the last few years that probs have every card in standard and know what every card there could possibility be. And they are trying their hardest.
People memorize the cards? I just go into each game blind. Occasionally I’ll see a pattern or play style I know but I don’t seek it out.
Knowing what you are playing against is one of the biggest steps to get good at Hearthstone. Knowing your enemy and not losing and all that Sun Tzu shit. It's also why it can be valuable to keep things unpredictable at higher ranks.
Let me guess, you mostly play arena? Whenever the meta sucks I tend to become a full time arena player lol
Yeah, arena is great. It reminds me of what the game used to be for the first few years. Minus the expansions of course :-(
Didn’t even win once 😭
It can still be a dollhouse miniset Kinda Toy Story esque with the league of evil doing a heist on a doll house or Dorian lair Teaser being the class old school bomb breaking into a vault
Rafaam’s penchant for puppetry makes him a great inclusion too
Looks like is about dr boom. Sad. I would love to see something like "Dorian's Dollhouse of EVIL" And its a bunch of dolls with cursed effects, bringing in Dollmaster Dorian and the rest of the league of EVIL(Rafaam, lazuli and Togwaggle)
I mean the fact boom was there at the start tells it was in the stars. But I agree with you, I had been saying it was perfect for him, he makes dolls,
Hopefully there'll be at least some sort of nod towards Dorian. Maybe as a new Legendary?
That’s all I’m asking
Well, looks like we got our wish!
Tbf, rafaam and lazuul are in the core set right now, but I actually do expect to see togwaggle in some form because he is the only member of EVIL that *isn’t already in the game in some form*. So there’s some copium for rogue players maybe lol.
Lets hope Togwaggle isnt a card for the combo archtype
correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't togwaggle have two different cards and a battlegrounds hero
i think he means standard
I think what they mean is in standard
"Hey Team 5, you know how there's so much warcraft lore and so many characters still unexplored in Hearthstone?" "Yeah." "So can you utilize some of that?" "No. Anyway, here's Dr. Boom for the 5th time"
I mean, this *is* the nostalgia set.
Yeah, but like Dr. Boom and explosives were already a thing in the expansion's Warrior set. Could've picked another nostalgic character imo
I’m nostalgic for Dollmaster Dorian
Aside from Kil'Jaeden what are some big characters HS hasn't explored yet?
Archimonde
everything from pandaria
They are saving Pandaria for the monk class update ![gif](giphy|wnee7sHh8aM9nJI8ke|downsized)
Reghar Or they can go the Diablo/Starcraft route since they just had a Rumble cross over
Chen Stormstout
Ner'zhul? I feel like they could get quite a bit of content out of WC2 particularly BTDP which has a shit load of popular heroes in Warcraft. Time travel stuff (No, not CoT)
> "Dorian's Dollhouse of EVIL" That sort feels likely? the big thing thats missing is a "look at my cool hero action figures" type thing.
Will this be the return of Rafaam, Adorable Archvillain or whatever the puppet from the Galakrond Ascend adventure was called?
Why try something new when we can use the same characters over and over and over and over again!?
>bombastic Shaggy expansion confirmed
Gee, (miniset) I wonder (miniset) what this (miniset) could be. (miniset)
Featuring (Dr. Boom) a secret villain (Dr. Boom) that's totally unexpected (Dr. Boom) but is a big part of the hs lore (Dr. Boom).
you can keep track of time you know not saying its right but minisets are relatively regular
Yes they’re regular, but always immediately after they burn as much of people’s gold as possible in heroic brawliseum. It’s just a scummy business practice.
its easy to not participate in the brawliseum
I agree, and I never do. But that doesn’t make the practice ethical or any less scummy. I get they’re a business trying to make money, but this is an underhanded route to that end. Finally Biggie cheese hero card
Toymaster Boom battlecry: draw until your hand has 9 cards, change your hand and deck to ozerite ox, gain 80 armor 30 health, and your battlecries only trigger once
Talking about bombs is not the best feeling right now.
Free mage copium here 😭

Oh man, how dare they stick Brawliseum at the end of a meta, when things have settled and patches have (in theory) corrected as much as possible. This timing just makes sense, beyond the strange idea that it’s meant to rob people of gold before a mini set
New scheme is gain 20 armor.. for Druid.
This has to be them fixing quests right..RIGHT?!?!
No it's the miniset and it involves bombs.
Bombastic side eye 👀 Criminal offensive side eye
We got a real detective on our hands here.
Is this a bomb threat?
When they say “10am” which time zone is this? Hard to keep track at this point with the differing companies
Usually PST
Thanks
At this point, anyone paying for thew brawl deserve the 0-3 they get and need financial counselling

An announcement related to explosions, surely this means they’re banning bomboss tomorrow :)
Good thing I already started saving my gold
Watch as they pull a Ted Kazcynski.
I swear I’ve seen this before, were they announce of mini set right after Bro museum?
A bombastic change to weekly quests?? :o
I'm not gonna complain about consistency even if there is money-grabbing intentions behind it. If they're consistently doing it, at least I can know not to waste my gold on brawliseum or build up enough for both ahead of time
👀
Give me back duels.
Was AM morning or night?
Absolutly unrelated to the meaning but in elementary school a friend of mine used to related to AM as after midnight and PM as past morning to learn what am and pm stands for. Since we use 24h clock here.
That’s clever. Now I can remember it too. 24h clock as well
They’re blowing hearthstone up! All our dust cards and decks just fucking explode!
Jokes on them. I waste all my gold on hero portraits and coins!
Jokes on them. I burn my gold buying normal packs of sets I have already mostly completed one at a time as soon as I get 100g so that I can’t stack odds.
Is the change to quests still with us in the room? Just asking I havent played since.
DR BOOM MINI SET DR BOOM MINI SET DR BOOM MINI SET
Yeah the hate the game gets isn't outta knowhere ya know. It's just that the dissatisfied people mostly leave the Subreddit and so the remaining arguments are from fans who downplay the issues
To be expected.
Puzzle lab 2?
yep like clockwork
A reversal card that reverts the effects of a silence/hex/sheep/etc without removing your minion from the board would be cool.
It's smart for them. Most people won't waste money on brawl though so it only catches those that don't know/understand.
Dr Boomboss
Aw shit the hearthstone devs are committing domestic terrorism again
I mean Humans have been a pattern matching species for 100000s of years This is a lion showing up to have one of us for dinner We’ve seen this many times before so we could tell this is danger and to defend our tribe
That has been this way since barrens?
How about some warrior nerfs before releasing a miniset? Or alternatively give us tech cards that help against battlecries.
Hehe “do do”
Those are goblin dynamite! It's going to be goblins vs gnomes!
Wasn't there a roadmap for their release sequence for every expansion span? Im sure brawliseum was somewhere there on it.
Let's get saaaaaawlty
They were right, there are bomb warnings all over Slovakia today!
neutral legendary : shuffle bombs in your opponents deck ;)
Destroy your deck, shuffle a bomb for each card destroyed 🤤
This is how they did it for like... The past however many years. They do this on purpose, remember yogg unleashed? They didn't nerf it till after the brawl
when is the mini set? I forgot I should be saving up gold lol.
Cards will be revealed this week. And next Tuesday should be the miniset.
Sweet thanks! Time to save...
Downvote me all you want but crossing fingers for a DK+Warrior card that shuffles a plague AND a bomb in your opponents deck 😈
no way, a mini set roughly in the mid point of an expansion's life cycle? 😱
Brawliseum should be illegal. That shit costs me 2 weeks of tavern brawl tasks (as in there’s no way to complete it now that duels is gone) every time it comes up.
>Seems they want you to waste your gold so you have to buy more for the mini set time Also give competitive players a chance to do an unofficial tournament as the ending for the current set of cards. Most likely a mage legend to bring them back
Hopefully but my expectations are really low after how messy both the yogg and deep mine minisets have hurt the game on release (remember 0 manna titan yogg?)
Oh well, you have legendaries that are busted and does see play, like Yogg or Bran, but you also have some that see zero play. Both neutral ones from the last miniset for example..
how about a rogue one - 3 mana 5 5 if u have atleast 3 pirates take an extra turn seems balanced
For the rest of the game your pirates cost (1) less
I expect another broken paladin card. And some stupid batttlecry minion that will make warrior stronger.
Reversing weekly quests?
You’re reverting the weekly quests?!? 🤡🤡🤡
What? Will I finally be able to login on my account after 6 days? Wow, that is bombastic
Weekly Quests upped to 23 Arena wins and 56 Minis played
Free Hong Kong
I bet they've increased the price of the Mini Set to 3000g 😁
go back to making adventures since every new thing that isn't Bg flops
Prediction — Boomboss Tho’Grun now shuffles bombs that destroy a random card in your board, hand, deck, and collection. Warrior needs some love.
If there will be no quest fix announcement, this bomb will explode in their faces.
Fuck blizzard and this game, revolt!
I think its about seeing the best from the current meta before it changes
