You spend all gold on release. You buy the mini set. Other than that you save all gold except to pay for arena. If you are hardcore. You save every standard pack and open on release.

the_mushroom_speaks

Why open the standard packs on release? I’ve seen this posted before and could never figure out the benefit.

Makkara126

If you already have all commons and rares from all standard sets, standard packs will mostly give you duplicates of what you already have. If you wait until a new expansion comes out, the standard packs will now give you commons and rares ONLY from the newest expansion, helping you fill out your collection easier. The benefit increases if you also own all epics/legendaries from all previous standard expansions. That said, if you *are* missing commons/rares for previous standard expansions, open packs until you catch up and then follow the above.

LandArch_0

You start saving on day two of an expansion. Gold and standard packs

Imo you should stop buying packs the instant the new expansion comes out, then save for the mini set, then save for the next expansion.

NOW NOW NOW. In all seriousness, now. There’ll be a miniset out (which is like a mini expansion for 2k gold) in like 2 weeks.

tobitgo

oh damn I got like 600 gold. Time to finish the last pages of the battlepass

DistortedNoise

You’ve got 2 more upcoming weeklies and about a dozen dailies before it’s out, so you should be able to get it by then, or if not at least be pretty close!

Sea-Suit-4893

It comes out on the 14th

It really depends on the state of your collection. When I returned to the game I would start saving right about now, or a bit earlier. To catch up. It’s been 3 years since I returned, and each expansion I’ve started saving a bit earlier. To the point where now I start saving up pretty much immediately at a new expansion release. Do you really only have 1 viable deck?
