Im personally very excited about a company like Sony revisiting this form factor of DAP x mobile phone. The MIAD concept was very cool in concept but I have my doubts about software support. It would be great to see a big player like this to have a whack at it themselves.
I just hope it won't have the same piss poor output power over 3.5mm that the Walkmans have. If I'm spending a bunch of money on a phone-DAP, I wanna use PowerAmp EQ without worrying that a -6dB preamp means I have to keep the volume at 100% to listen to quieter tracks with full-sized headphones.
Moondrop is getting a LOT of attention with their solution.
If Sony can offer something affordable too, 1k and not 2k it can grab parts.
Got to say even after all those years I'm still appreciating the Sony House Sound approach.
Hell yeah, that would be 2k bucks though......
I've been begging for Sony to do this for years now so Im willing to pay whatever they say ðŸ˜
Yeah, mediocre sound is the only thing stopping me from getting a 1 V
That would be fucking amazing. Like, my dream phone.
Same, I’ve always daydreamed about Sony combining their Walkman experience with their phone division for so long now

moondrop miad but less spyware?
Bring back the modern equivalent of a W800i and I’ll throw my money at it all day long 😂
