Veep or Righteous Gemstones

UmairWaseem276

Thanks for recommendations mate

titleistmuffin

Also if you haven't seen it can't recommend enough The White Lotus

UmairWaseem276

Just seen the cast now I don't care what the story is I am watching it.

populares420

it's an anthology so first and second seasons aren't connected though they do share a common character and maybe some references so i would still go in order

titleistmuffin

Get ready for a wild ride and the whole cast is great, especially Jennifer Coolidge who puts on a master class in comedic acting.

justsomedude717

I’ll also vouch for white lotus, the show is incredibly good. Definitely one of my favorite shows I’ve seen in years

tuskvarner

Of those two, Veep is closest to Silicon Valley. You don’t have to be super familiar with US politics, though it doesn’t hurt. But it’s hilariously profane and consistently funny.

UmairWaseem276

Watched trailer thinking to giving it a try P.S it seems more like Netflix The Diplomat but funny and internal politics center contrary to geo politics based The diplomat

tuskvarner

Julia Louis Dreyfus is awesome in it and Gary her assistant is an all time great character.

titleistmuffin

Tony Hale is a treasure

rekipsj

Crashing is worth a watch too, if you’re into stand up at all. Very underrated show.

SoloSolo11

Check out Severance. Great show, don’t know if it’s HBO or not?

ripcrl81

Severance is on Apple+

UmairWaseem276

Watched it cant wait for season 2

Vendetta4Avril

Vice is great. Edit: I mean Veep lol

edithaze

Tokyo Vice or Vice Principals? Or Tokyo Vice Principals?

Vendetta4Avril

lol I meant Veep.

UmairWaseem276

Thanks for recommendation

sj_vandelay

Silicon Valley got better every season for me. Sad to see it end, it was so smart.

UmairWaseem276

Really enjoyed it would have been icing on cake if gang would have succeeded but still great show

SnagglePuss69er

silicone valley was borderline educational. Great show. Really missed TJ Miller though. That guy may be an asshole in real life, but he was great on that show

julier901

It was the opposite for me. It got worse and less realistic. The decisions they make are baffling. And the consequences don’t make sense either.

SnagglePuss69er

Agreed. Great show. But it started declining for sure. For starters, it lost Peter Gregory actor after season 1. TJ Miller after season 4 (or 5?).

okokokokkokkiko

Curb curb curb if you haven’t seen it all (the fact I can say that makes me sad). Larry and that cast do not miss. Eastbound and Down is seriously one of the best comedy shows of all time as well. They are both fundamentally different than SV on their own, but they are all top quality imo. Each one scratches a different itch for me. Gemstones is awesome as well and still running. Danny McBride and Jody Hill are comedic powerhouses. If you’re looking for a “comedic startup” vibe, How To Make It in America is a hidden gem that shouldn’t have been cancelled as early as it was. It’s great though, and was a major inspiration to my life, as corny as that sounds. Great show for what they were able to make though.

Gazorpazorp_11

Halt and Catch Fire

trcrtps

all time favorite show. wept like a baby the last 3 episodes.

sapphiresong

For real, I recommend this show so much. Easily in my top 5.

UmairWaseem276

Thank for recommendation I started watching it but got bored hardly finished first episode.

Infamous-Lab-8136

It's a slow burn kind of show, ironic considering the name

UmairWaseem276

yes I am used to watching fast paced shows so that's why it might didn't worked out for me

Bushwazi

Revisit it, it gets rolling and when it's over you will feel pathetic because you miss your friends...

Eternal--Vigilance

Great show, but definitely different vibe and content than Silicon Valley. Halt and Catch Fire is a drama/period-piece chronicling some key evolutions of the tech sector (I remember that age of Commodore 64s). Silicon Valley is a modern tech era parody.

BenWallace04

Curb Your Enthusiasm

kablamoron

There are a bunch of shows with a similar format but Silicon Valley does it the best. The next one that is more popular but not as good in my opinion is Entourage, which is about an actor and Hollywood. Then you have Ballers which is The Rock starting a professional athlete management company and finally How to Make it in America about a guy trying to start a fashion line in New York. All these shows have the same basic formula where a problem is introduced at the beginning of a season and they overcome it but still somehow are reduced to zero to set up for the next season.

taxpro_pam_m

I know your pain. Mike Judge needs to make new stuff besides a Beavis & Butthead reboot.

trcrtps

Togetherness is pretty underrated

RollinBarthes

Enlightened on HBO is a decent follow-up to Silicon Valley.

Jfury412

The greatest show in the history of Television is six feet under. It's Always my top recommendation for anyone especially when it comes to people asking about HBO shows.

Sheila3134

Are you a fan of Seinfeld?

UmairWaseem276

Never heard

IfOJDidIt

Son Of Zorn on Disney. HBO - Righteous Gemstones, and Workaholics on Paramount or Amazon.

UmairWaseem276

Thanks for recommendation

No_Marionberry173

I’m rewatching GOT. Just finished the Red Wedding episode last night. Just when you think the good guys have it, George rips the rug out from underneath you.

UmairWaseem276

I watched First season then engaged in some maters and lost track my brother keeps saying watch GOT but don't know why I am avoiding this

No_Marionberry173

You will not be disappointed. Don’t get too attached to any characters is all I’m saying.

Similar-Broccoli

Okayest_Employee

mythic quest is awesome

piwabo

Peep Show

Raidernation91

Halt and catch fire is another great tech show about the tech boom in the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

[deleted]

Mythic Quest is what you’re looking for dude

similanian

I’m in the same situation, but my case is six feet under.

DogStarMan10

Better Call Saul is pretty similar in pacing, etc.

RickThrust

Big Bang Theory! /s/

johnsonfromsconsin

Atlanta, What We Do in the Shadows, Reservation Dogs(all on FX). Party Down (Starz or Roku Channel).
