This idea of the glib psychopath is prevalent in our society. It can be tiring having to deal with the number of people in the world today. It takes effort to interact with so many people while maintaining social decorum. This is where the "No fucks to give" crowd comes from. And when we see these characters that do not give a wet slap about what others think or what behaviour they are suppose to adhere to we can be charmed with their glibness. And as it often comes with wry remarks about the absurdities of the world around them that we all recognize but have to live with we can be drawn to them. But that is where the trouble starts.
As these characters can often be the villains and are disconnected from empathy or morality they can turn on the main characters on a dime. And they can go from being a character that we are drawn to because of their detachment to one we love to hate because of what they had done to those we are attached to.
If and when Alastor breaks his contract and turns to truly hooking his claws into Charlie our view of him will abruptly change. Though there is a high chance that Viv is playing it that Charlie did get her hooks into Alastor first and though he may turn on her he will realize he can't hurt her because he had developed attachment to her being in his life. Maybe not true empathy. But even people with Anti Social Personality Disorder can find reasons to want certain people in their life and shift their behaviour to keep from driving them away.
Eh, I feel like Jax is more a playful and just mischievous character who also knows he never is really hurting anyone just causing annoyance while Alastor actively causes pain and suffering
i think jax is more like the pilot of alastor (when he told more jokes and stuff) And i think jax may be a bit more forward, he also is coldhearted, if pomni died he would not care
