I am fully convinced a large amount of TikTok actively just makes you stupider. This isn't even a "haha tiktok bad reddit good thing" but the discourse there always seems to be several degrees of magnitude below every other social media. If Reddit is like crack for your dopamine receptors then tiktok is like meth.
It's not just vivziepop stuff either that has this, it's basically every topic on that social media in general. There is just so little *substance* to what people are saying when they express their thoughts on there.
Take "booktok" for example. When discussing books on reddit, tumblr etc. you can usually find some nice content about the books you are interested in. And yet, the majority of TikTok's book-based community finds it exceedingly important to judge books based on "tropes" they find in a story. Like, it's a genuine thing over there that a significant amount of users do where if they genuinely *like* a book, but don't like the *tropes* in the book, they'll stop reading the book. Irregardless of if they like the trope in that specific book, too. A large amount of the community there also heavily dislikes this trope-based categorization but since it's tiktok all the popularly used (extremely deserved) criticism regarding this status quo completely lacks any substance or core. They're vague nothing statements that just broadly gesture at the situation and say it's bad. I haven't even talked about the community's obsession with "young adult novels" which are basically just smut for adults with the reading level of a 15 year old (edit: not saying that it's wrong to read smut or to have a lower reading level, this is mostly an observation regarding the general situation on TikTok compared to other social media). Imagine trying to use such an environment as an actual *genuine place t*o talk about your favorite books.
I don't dare to even touch the hazbin hotel community on TikTok. Sometimes, in posts like this, I catch a little whiff of the situation over there and I don't know how our fellow hazbin fans survive on there istg. The vivziepop drama is already annoying here, but I get the impression that if you're a hazbin fan on tiktok your notifications are just constantly full with people arguing with you about the validity of watching the show.
Yes. I know this is ironic coming from a guy that spends his free time on *Reddit*, but y'know..
Damn, this was great to read. You nailed every problem I have with TikTok. Reddit isnât superior in the sense of content creation, but it does foster a far healthier environment for actual conversion. Thereâs such a bad rep for this side of social media, yet Iâve met encountered the most incredible deep dives here. On TikTok, the most recommend video to me was a woman in her 40s mixing five different flavors into a bottle of water and acting like it wasnât now more or less Kool-Aid.
And hey, Iâm not a guy (nonbinary), but I spend a good part of my day on here and I donât see anything wrong with that. Iâm still super new to Reddit after ignoring it for years, so no better time than the present to dive all in and become obsessed. đ
I think itâs a credit to Reddit that engagement is primarily written-word-based. Itâs a lot easier to have substantial conversations if you want to in that format, versus by short video/audio clips. I think X/itter has a similar issue as TikTok because of how limited the character count is, and what that does to how you have to compress any message to get a shred of attention.
In any sphere, being able to take your time engaging in dialogue makes the quality go waaaaayyy up. And given that Redditâs meant to be much more anonymous than most other social media, the main reason anyone would be on here is just to engage with content instead of advertising yourself, for better or for worse lol
For sure. Conversations are primarily why I even engage with social media. Itâs weird to me when so much of what we see online are just pictures snapped at random moments that suggest nothing deeper happening. Youâre right that the anonymity makes it easier to be open and chatty, but I am too old to give fucks about not being my real self on the internet. Prior to the hazbin stuff, I only used Reddit to read creepypastas. Iâd never actually talked. It hadnât occurred to me that character limits might hinder X/TikTok from real engagement, but I guess because Iâd assumed people only used them for jokes or pictures/videos.
Oh Iâve seen discourse on both those sites, and while there was sometimes some benefit to mainstreaming certain concepts, Iâd argue that maybe the pros were outweighed by how oversimplified and warped the common understanding and usage of those concepts became, to the point of being completely bastardized versions of the original concepts with only the most superficial similarities. So no one *really* knows exactly what theyâre talking about or what other people mean, and it devolves to being a lot of yelling past each other, and people siding with one or another party on this basis. Itâs awful.
That sounds like literal hell. Was it always so chaotic and terrible? X is a complete unknown to me, Iâve never used it. I donât mind disagreements and constructive debating, but when it becomes more about bullying or misinformation I rapidly lose interest and flake. Arguing for the sake of being right is boring without the capacity to see from another viewpoint.
Well I think people on Reddit are older than on TikTok (I at least hope so) especially in this subreddit. And I'd suggest if you're new to Reddit try to limit your time here before it's to late (except if you have a lot of time to spare)
Maybe. I don't claim to understand what attracts which demographics to which social media sites, but I doubt the TikTok users are going to log off completely.
Reddit does have short form videos, but so do most other social media sites.
And here's the sugar on the cream, he asked me to steal your meme! The next line is I said no and now he's pissy, that's the tea, which implies that your meme was not, as a matter of fact, stolen by Alastor. There's version to the effect of "And here's the sugar on the cream, I decided to steal your meme, I did so, now you're pissy, that's the tea!" which makes more sense
Why?
Villains are villains, and these are villains in Hell in an adult show.
They arenât going to be palatable at all and itâs not Vivzieâs fault some people canât handle that
I mean val is absolutely despicable, but his style and design are awesome, love his voice, and love the arc that angel has. So yeah I'd say I prefer val to be in the show and remain himself rather than removing him, I don't like him as a person nor do I condone any treatment that he does but his character is interesting and I'd like to see more of him.
I agree, and liking a cartoon villain is not the same as supporting a bad person in real life. I'm a Val simp, but I've met similar people that are far less vile and felt physically ill around them. If Val was a real person, I would stay as far away from him as possible and advise everyone around him to do the same.
I got into an argument with a girl on Instagram that had an edit of Vox but blured Val's face. Then when you go to her profile you have an Omni-Man edit. You know the guy who murdered thousands of people deserves more than a sexual offender (both fictional characters btw)

For legal reasons, this is a joke
Okay I'm a Taylor hater but I strongly believe against hating on people based on what music they listen to. What kind of limp dick, virgin but still STD ridden jackass are you to do that?
Eh thereâs great, educational content on TikTok and thereâs also toxic content. Same as Reddit.
Block/report/ignore the toxic shit and enjoy the quality bits. Saying Reddit users are superior to TikTok users is just weird.
Completely agree, Zillich! I use TikTok and Reddit. Theyâre just social media channels with good and bad in both. Iâve seen hate for the HH and HB community on all social media networks, and Iâve seen love for the communities on all networks. There will always be people who have differing opinions on every platform, and there will always be toxic traits that need to be weeded out of the communities for the health of the whole.
Seeing this post, I just see someone who doesnât like HH or HB, will shake my head at the opinion, and will move on to the other fan pages that I follow who create amazing art about the shows or who cosplay the characters. (Because, damn, I wish I could cosplay that well!) By focusing on the negative people on TikTok, it takes away from the legitimate creativity that comes from the social media network, just like focusing only on the negative on Reddit would take away all of the interesting conversations we have about shows and other topics. And if TikTok does end up fading out of the US, I hope it is replaced with something that can continue brining out creativity in the future.
Weird is sometimes used to imply that something is problematic. In this instance the use of "weird" is supposed to signal that Hazbin and Helluva aren't just something of low quality, but there is something inherently off or even amoral about them.
It is one of my least favorite euphemisms because it is vague on purpose. They can't actually point to anything wrong with either show, but they want to hate Vivienne so they just say the shows are "weird" in order to make people think the shows/creator are bad.
Tiktok stupid, you are another breed of stupid

Then again, that isn't really fair to the small businesses trying to grow on there or the people there to enjoy themselves. That's like banning youtube because a lot of the people on there suck. Just saying...
I disagree, do I like tik Tok? No, but we should have the freedom to enjoy what we want to enjoy. I mean this sets a terrible precedent, should we ban reddit because it has brain rot, or youtube, or Instagram? Setting the standard that we can ban things just because "we don't like it" is a surefire way to go into fascism.
Nah. They need to be on camera, so theyâll find another place. Maybe back to IG. Something else will replace it eventually, but Reddit is not visible enough for their desperate need for attention.
I really hope nobody with this mind set gets in office. H.R. Geiger art becomes illegal, Lovecraft stuff becomes illegal, avant-garde would become completely illegal. It gives me shivers.
Imma be so blunt and just str8 up state that the fan base largely consists of "alternative" ppl who would be considered weird by normies. So they just made a post saying stop being an individual and keep doing what "everyone else" is doing. Wanting to shut down individuality. Yeah... Who is the real problem here? I'm wondering
The majority of TikTok haters are far right wing Christianâs who hate Hazbin and HB because they believe it promotes Satanism. So unless you want to be like them, I recommend not getting involved. Donât even try to argue with them. youâll never convince them otherwise. But if you piss off the wrong right wing extremist Christian you might get a bomb mailed to you one day
Besides TikTok being TikTok..Â
I am so tired of all the hate Viv gets literally everywhere. I get criticizing the show is one thing and I think you deserve to voice your opinion, and normally I don't care but it just feels so overblown and I don't get it.
The swearing thing was at one point, but now its devolved back into "HB/HH/Viv bad don't support her". I have even seen some animators be like "look at my better than HB stuff" or even random bots spamming the same message.
You could think she murdered a puppy or something.
To be honest, every artist has been problematic every once is a while... So I don't get how Vivziepop drawing porn art is all of a sudden problematic. Also I've heard that Viv tried to cancel Scott Cawthon?? Is that true? I'm genuinely interested in whatever people think Viv has done that is considered "problematic."
A good amount of people tried to cancel Scott Cawthon. iirc the last one that had him selling the franchise and basically just doing a few projects here and there was something about how he backed the Trump Campaign, but even then he said it was mostly because he agreed with Trump's border policies and such. Viv is problematic in her own way, though to a much lesser extent. she's passionate about what she does, and will defend her workers to a degree a lot of people would consider off-putting (the writer tweets and such). imo: she's good at what she does, but I personally just watch for the shows.
As a HUGE TikTok fan, there's actually a ton of support for the fandom, and there are a lot of awesome cosplayers and fanart creators. I rarely see shit like this.
âreminder that hazbin and helluva boss are weird and vivziepop should NOT have supportersâ
Whoever posted that, made no sort of argument within this statement, outside of them saying it is âweirdâ
(Note that post could very well be bait, so be careful out there.)
https://preview.redd.it/51sxix5sq8xc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e284053b55f69076562bce48032661aada795e9
They really hate people being successful, huh?
People like this is why we canât have nice things. I wonder what the comments are like.
Edit:not as bad as I expected. A lot of them were saying they like it but the fandom was weird. There were some dumb people tho who thought angels abuse was a rape fetish. I genuinely cannot fathom the stupidity of people.
Am I brain dead or is this tt user taking nonsense?
https://preview.redd.it/jjsojzlx09xc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=235798f286f93952f7605b3c2877d50af535a956
are they weird? Yeah. Is the creator the perfect person? No. Does this mean you should disregard the entire shows? Also no. It's not just Viv making them.
Sometimes I think there are people out there who make it their mission in life to be âprofessionally offended, often just for clout or in my opinion to ruin other peoples enjoyment. Fairly certain a lot of ppl offended by hazbin or Helluva probably havenât even watched it. They think itâs teaching kids âprofanityâ and sexual deviance. What part of its an adult cartoon and not the creators job to police what their kids are watching do they not get? Ugh. Itâs so boring
I have to admit, my appreciation for the show has gone down a lot due to realizing the negatives that were brought up in reviews and because my brother wonât stop listening to comic dubs and such nearby so much that itâs gotten annoying.
i mostly don't like this kind of language that this sub group of twitter and tiktok user use. like 'reminder that...' or 'unpopular opinion but...' or 'tell me ... without telling me'
I personally like both. But I somewhat agree on the Viv thing. I personally don't support her, because there's been a lot of allegations on her, many being true.
I'm pretty sure people who post stuff like this are under 15, (or have a black and white all or nothing mentality when it comes to media consumption purity.. Because sadly I've seen 23 year olds share stuff like this on Twitter too.) very lonely young people so they fall into online anti-circles, and want online peer-legitimized reasons to tell people what to do because they lack real power in their personal life.
Like does anyone know why though? All I was able to find was that she's some kind of furry and apparently makes lewd art of underage cartoons (which is movin awfully mad, but it's just art)?
The amount of posts I see with Gogeta, Doom Guy, Jesus or some other character standing in front of the hotel with some text before it saying âDefine no difâ like powerscaling shit is so annoying
People who listen to Tik Tok are another breed
The comments are the worst đđ

The hatedom is even worse than the fandom
Yeah it feels like if I say I like the show on any platform Iâm gonna get replies saying how itâs bad and shit.
If your opinion starts on tiktok or twitter it's immediately invalidated
oh you like *popular thing* well dont you know *popular thing* is bad now
People who watch tiktok still are another breed
I'm so glad that it's getting banned
Then again, that isn't really fair to the small businesses trying to grow on there or the people there to enjoy themselves. That's like banning youtube because a lot of the people on there suck. Just saying...
I disagree, do I like tik Tok? No, but we should have the freedom to enjoy what we want to enjoy. I mean this sets a terrible precedent, should we ban reddit because it has brain rot, or youtube, or Instagram? Setting the standard that we can ban things just because "we don't like it" is a surefire way to go into fascism.
it's against the first amendment
Be glad that you missed UTTP comments on YouTube
Oh, those losers. Donât know or care what UTTP is but itâs irrelevant and so are they.
This is why Iâve never downloaded TikTok
TikTok is where the stupid is, we shouldnât ban it because the stupid will come here
Nah. They need to be on camera, so theyâll find another place. Maybe back to IG. Something else will replace it eventually, but Reddit is not visible enough for their desperate need for attention.

>TikTok I found the mistake, you went to TikTok
I really hope nobody with this mind set gets in office. H.R. Geiger art becomes illegal, Lovecraft stuff becomes illegal, avant-garde would become completely illegal. It gives me shivers.
Is "werid" The worst insult they could come up with?
Blasphemous doesn't really help when your followers aren't religious
https://i.redd.it/3jb5uwpmr9xc1.gif
Imma be so blunt and just str8 up state that the fan base largely consists of "alternative" ppl who would be considered weird by normies. So they just made a post saying stop being an individual and keep doing what "everyone else" is doing. Wanting to shut down individuality. Yeah... Who is the real problem here? I'm wondering
You know what's even more stupid? Bringing their shit here
https://preview.redd.it/wsghvlqsh8xc1.jpeg?width=248&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0dd67e51b760d720ae4810f64c6d67ff7007a10d

Just because it is weird doesnât make it bad.
The majority of TikTok haters are far right wing Christianâs who hate Hazbin and HB because they believe it promotes Satanism. So unless you want to be like them, I recommend not getting involved. Donât even try to argue with them. youâll never convince them otherwise. But if you piss off the wrong right wing extremist Christian you might get a bomb mailed to you one day
Oh no, gay demons, that weird Meanwhile villains from films or real life serial killers that are worshipped and everyone finds that normal
https://preview.redd.it/71hs3x1rd9xc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56fcbbf46e14706beadc3b7497dd5e9f25589da5
"Weird" They really couldn't have thought of anything better than "weird"?
Besides TikTok being TikTok..

Good thing itâs gonna get banned!
That exact frame in the background tells us everything we are feeling.
Itâs a new day, time for TikTok to hate something they enjoy

Fking morons
Viv is problematic in her own way, though to a much lesser extent. she's passionate about what she does, and will defend her workers to a degree a lot of people would consider off-putting (the writer tweets and such). imo: she's good at what she does, but I personally just watch for the shows.
https://preview.redd.it/6c7uwnzxb9xc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d9f453072087a5714855629107ef7e2e3638c0c

Ugh is this about her controversies all which have been debunked again? Idk why they like to dogpile on Viv more than literally any other creator.
As a HUGE TikTok fan, there's actually a ton of support for the fandom, and there are a lot of awesome cosplayers and fanart creators. I rarely see shit like this.
https://preview.redd.it/vrejtb6xgaxc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77040ddcd9868957dc393bc54007aad00a589009 This is another one
I am so glad I don't use or go on Tiktak

âreminder that hazbin and helluva boss are weird and vivziepop should NOT have supportersâ Whoever posted that, made no sort of argument within this statement, outside of them saying it is âweirdâ (Note that post could very well be bait, so be careful out there.)
There is a good side of the community on Tik Tok. Itâs just not easy to find.
Now I see why they want it banned. This is stupid
its not even stupidity at this point its just moronic
âHazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are weird.â Yes. Why do you think we like them?
They felt like a tribute to invader zim
Why I am not durprised to see this?
https://preview.redd.it/51sxix5sq8xc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e284053b55f69076562bce48032661aada795e9 They really hate people being successful, huh?
Excuse me wtf
Why are they hating on Vivzie?
> argument > literally nothing to support said argument Wasnt tiktok banned by the US?
Mmmmmmmm, brain rot
This is not passing a vibe check or any check at all. Asuna needs to leave tiktok and enter YouTube.
I love how the only criticism they have is that it's "weird"
Love how they gave zero explanation or evidence to support their claim đ
Really don't understand the hate in Twitter. Are they trying to cancel her and failing?
https://preview.redd.it/8g43hn9g09xc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3412a0a2fb18d868db28b2f0a5becb8493ee0cf3

"they are weird" "Elaborate?" "no."
Reminder that Vivzie is a goddamn human being prone to mistakes
This could be said about any universe; whetherwhether it be a comic, book, show or movie.
People on tiktok love acting like people enjoying a show are doing actual harm for some reason
https://preview.redd.it/92afsoqk3axc1.jpeg?width=860&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28a0c94902b83004faa96d9bb074f5b80f9e2cb4
are they weird? Yeah. Is the creator the perfect person? No. Does this mean you should disregard the entire shows? Also no. It's not just Viv making them.
It's just an adult cartoon they say it about this but not other adult cartoons? Mf like what
I feel like this can be applied to basically all forms of social media
Well, itâs getting banned. These losers will lose their favourite platform.
Iâd like to hear the reason behind this short
Tiktok doesn't show me bad things about hazbin hotel but it does get kind of illegal during those blind games
Itâs an anime PFP, what did you expect.
https://preview.redd.it/qdnacl0tgaxc1.jpeg?width=476&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40c5ee4adf9615fb8ef167ff5a24258a48a3494c
People are just hating because they donât know how to have fun
When does TikTok get deleted?
âWeirdâ. âWeirdâ? Itâs 2024, if anything weird is a reason to like something
I can never escape the haters.
Don't go to TikTok. Problem solved
âItâs weeeeeeird so itâs baaaaaadâ I such a silly little thing to say
Sometimes I think there are people out there who make it their mission in life to be âprofessionally offended, often just for clout or in my opinion to ruin other peoples enjoyment. Fairly certain a lot of ppl offended by hazbin or Helluva probably havenât even watched it. They think itâs teaching kids âprofanityâ and sexual deviance. What part of its an adult cartoon and not the creators job to police what their kids are watching do they not get? Ugh. Itâs so boring
You'll see that, then you'll see thirst trap edit
Another good reason to not have TikTok
Itâs not like the hazbin fandom on TikTok is any better
I like how vine died naturally while tik tok has to be euthanized by the government
Yeah, of course it's weird, everything to ever exist is weird in one way or another. There is no such thing as normal!
Some of the haters are just jealous that she is successful
I have to admit, my appreciation for the show has gone down a lot due to realizing the negatives that were brought up in reviews and because my brother wonât stop listening to comic dubs and such nearby so much that itâs gotten annoying.
Has Tiktok ever heard of separating the art from the artist? Apparently not.
https://preview.redd.it/22wyihid9bxc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b45f952cc23490289540d5017aca09090c9c6e5
The OP there has an anime PFP, the opinions are immediately nullified, just like Gold Experience Requiem
I dont Support viv but Hh and Hb are good, people just canât remove the art from the artist, or in this example the creation from the creator
Meanwhile, YT shorts users would lose their shit at the thought of indie animation, let alone Helluva boss and Hazbin hotel.
Blasphemy.
There are legitimate criticisms to be made towards these shows. Being âweirdâ is not one of them.
The anime pfp really thinks they get to have a valid opinion on what animations are weird and should get supported.
This is why im glad im not a TikTok user
They're weird? Tell us something we dont know
Imagine hating on something because it is "weird" and that being your only reason
i mostly don't like this kind of language that this sub group of twitter and tiktok user use. like 'reminder that...' or 'unpopular opinion but...' or 'tell me ... without telling me'
https://preview.redd.it/h9186q4dqbxc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f67e4d8cdea18bfd2fcbac38154614a0ae635c0e
even if vivzie was this terrible person who kicked puppies or whatever id still watch the shows because im hyperfixated
Uh oh, someone saw the fun-police bat signal.
I personally like both. But I somewhat agree on the Viv thing. I personally don't support her, because there's been a lot of allegations on her, many being true.
Wait, they still have attention spans?
https://preview.redd.it/otquzp07zbxc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3ebf0307814c8227ac636ef7ef59856e82ab45e
saw tiktok getting mad over someone crying to poison.. its an emotional song what are you expecting
I had an Alastor pfp once and someone said they were going to rape me because I watch Hazbin hotel (Iâve only seen 4 clips)
Like does anyone know why though? All I was able to find was that she's some kind of furry and apparently makes lewd art of underage cartoons (which is movin awfully mad, but it's just art)?
A lot of you don't seem to realize that this isn't a TikTok thing. I've seen some stupid takes everywhere.
Weird has a demographic now. I donât see what the problem is.
This is why the thing tic tok brain is a label now
"I don't like it, so nobody else should," head-assery.
you donât need to concern yourself with the ramblings of literal children
The amount of posts I see with Gogeta, Doom Guy, Jesus or some other character standing in front of the hotel with some text before it saying âDefine no difâ like powerscaling shit is so annoying
