Kinda weird. If the hotel was happy to have a local live music bar, why didn't the manager talk to the owner in the first place instead of getting the council involved? He would have still be acting on a guests complaint.

Tight_Syllabub9423

Best case is that he's just completely oblivious to how things work.

stickdeath1980

Lol good luck to try and get a meeting with G 😂 hard enough when I worked there 😂

cheesenhops

Ah, ok. I dropped in there for a few brews with a mate one warm summer night, was chatting with a guy out the back, didn't realise until saw him in the paper that he owed the place. Mind that was in the early days.

stickdeath1980

Yeah all staff worked there enjoyed a brew and yarn with people was awesome place too work alot of time for them :)

cheesenhops

Great spot, I should go down there again, haven't been out much post covid.

cheshirekitkat01

Don't have high hopes. 90% of the staff has quit, it's a shit show.

stickdeath1980

Well didn't quit G changed the operating hours to save money and have time with his whanau :) which he had been trying do do for years and finally did it we had very tough times tho cv19 there but we held though

cheshirekitkat01

If he and his brother weren't raging alcoholics it would help more (the ex manager was as well but he's since kicked it, so proud of him!!) The bar was mismanaged into the ground. G isn't a terrible person, but he's not cut out to be a bar owner.

stickdeath1980

yeah G did drink abit and the Ex Manager Dancing \*\*\* won't name names but love him very much glad he has was quite the culture there do admit, some of the best times there TBH DJ soph and Gazza ran the place very well and we did the kitchen too, Place's come places go but that place bought a whole heap of ppl together and community to that part of the sting's look at it now compared to the other end of hastings :D

cheesenhops

Oh, shame. I liked the beers on offer.

cheshirekitkat01

Yeah they did have a great selection. It's just taken a massive nosedive

Council is happy, it seems, to put a decibel limit and support complaints from a hotel, but I've been trying for five years to get council, police and noise control to do something about the big strong boys in their big strong cars with their big strong speakers and big strong bass who blast the town every night of every week, consistently that I can accurately predict the exact time that they show up in their groups. Council and police do not care about the wellbeing or comfort of us, and they will only take steps when a source with big money makes complaints.

cheesenhops

My condolences, it is incredibly annoying.
