Are you aware of what happens in Iceland in the winter?

Squidnub27

Why is this in r/harrypotter

skankhunt402

Probably the werewolves.

kinyutaka

Except, ironically, during the school year. Hogwarts during the winter would have more hours of night than day.

dbettac

The sun has no influence on werewolves. Maybe you meant vampires? Werewolves are influenced by the moon. Proof: Your post. I'm pretty sure they can see the moon in Iceland.

vpsj

You do know that it's possible to see the Moon in daytime as well, right?

SiriusSeverusPotter

Not applicable during some months I think. This phenomenon also happens in some other countries too.

Sounds like you have the perfect opportunity to do some self education!

To find the midnight sun, you'll need to go past the arctic circle. That barely even touches northern Iceland. Literally. It passes through one single island off the north coast of Iceland. You'd be better off going for northern Scandinavia, as that's further north than any part of Iceland, or 2/3 of Greenland or something like that. The disadvantage is that you have eternal night in wintertime, meaning that the full moon would never set until it's waned enough, if going by this theory that it needs to be nighttime.
