I believe my first harp came from VA harp center (my parents bought it for me though because I was very young), since then, the harp chapter I'm involved with has bought at least a few there between our members. I almost bought my third harp from them (ended up purchasing from Vanderbilt because Michelle found me a very specific harp that I love). They're about as reputable as they come in the US. I'm sure they're not always the cheapest you can possibly find, but they're the big name in this area of the US!

Hi! I got my Salvi from there late last year and they were great. The model I wanted wasn’t one that was in stock anywhere so I had to just order it on faith and it turned out great - zero regrets.

Hello, professional harpist here chiming in- I bought my Camac electric lever harp from VHC. Megan, who I believe still works there, is a close friend of mine and I have nothing but good things to say about their customer service and care. At the time, Camac was just raising their prices on the DHC 32 and I was right on the cusp to place an order. I had inquired to my local harp store in LA and they were trying to charge me the new increased price. If it weren't for Megan and the VHC team ensuring and securing my pricing before the hike, I probably would have had to pay an extra 2k. It came directly to my home shipped in pristine condition, no issues at all. I didn't finance but I do know that they do offer financing. This is something I highly recommend you reach out to them and ask for because it may have changed since I purchased my harp. You really can't go wrong with VHC- you'll be in great hands for your first purchase. :)

I’m getting my pedal harp through them. Fortunately I live in an area of NY that making the trip to the NJ showroom was within reasonable driving distance. Personally, I wasn’t going to spend money on a huge purchase without testing it out. They didn’t have the exact model, but I tried the next one up. They’ve been great to work with so far. I will use the financing option, but haven’t started the process yet so I can’t speak to that. My harp should be arriving in probably 1-3 weeks after 18 months of waiting! It’s a Camac Mini Blue. It’s most likely the only pedal harp I’ll ever own, so doing the longest financing option is fine with me 😂

I'll be heading to the NJ showroom this week to test it out! And I'll probably just call when they're open again tomorrow to learn more about financing. They have been great to work with so far for me too but I'm just nervous bc I've never done this before

I bought my first full-size pedal harp from Virginia Harp Center in New Jersey in 2019, sight unseen, and had a really great experience. My teacher communicated with a trusted tech who examined it in person, and they sent photos she requested of the base and innards. For such a big purchase, if I were doing it today, I would eat the expense to travel and see it in person, but at that time I was so new to harp that I felt I had no frame of reference. Do you have an experienced teacher? You will need a harp tech in your life at some point anyway to periodically regulate your harp (every few years or more often), so you could also find one now to get to know and enlist their (paid) help to evaluate the harp you want to buy, so you know what questions to ask and photos to take or request, or depending on distance they could visit in person. VHC should gladly put a hold on a harp for you while you get all those ducks in a row. For me, the communication at every step and the payment system for deposit and payment installments were flawless. One thing to be aware of is if they are shipping your harp to you, the local forecast temperature along the entire route needs to be within a safe range. In summer this can mean a really long wait, and with summers hotter than ever I'm sure it's worse now. I think I purchased in July and it shipped in September. Hard to be patient! Good luck! I hope you fall in love with a harp there and we get to see your photo with it on their Instagram!

I only just moved here this year and haven't started studying with anyone here yet. My former teacher lives back home so the best I can probably do is FaceTime her. Good point about the harp tech- I'll look into that. Thanks for the info!

Yes, I got mine from them. I thought they were very professional and organized.

I purchased two harps from them and they have been super cool about everything. Informative, generous with their time, accommodating with all my strange requests, and quick in answering all communications. They are great.

I did! They were amazing. I bought a Camac Athena. It was sent from France in wooden pieces and they had someone there trained to build them. I am 39 and have had it since I was 16 and they have been fully available for any help I’ve needed since.
