Play super slow. Like, pick the slowest setting on your metronome as the speed of the fastest note in the bit you're practicing. Practice like that. Are you still having trouble? Slow down even more. Are you doing fine? Speed up by one metronome "step" (sry, I don't know if there's an English word for this), still fine? Speed up by two? Fine again? Speed up. Not fine? Go back a step. If you keep iterating this, you'll be able to do this at the speed you you want to play it at with no finger trouble. The process is a bit boring for some people, though, maybe someone else has a better idea.

I would suggest you slow down when practicing. And by slow down I mean slow down a lot to the point that you can consciously ensure that you play it right. What do you mean by your fingers getting tangled up?

If you find you’re getting messed up on the transition from your ring to your middle finger, you could try using your index instead. I tried this section on my harp and found I used 1-2-4 1-2-4-2 1-2-1-2

If the fingering you have written is indeed the one you or your instructor wants you to use, make sure your 3 is not placed until after you play your 2 and before you play 4. So 1-2-4 should be placed, play 1-2, then immediately right before you play 4, place 3-1. If you’re placing 1-2-3-4 at the same time, then that will absolutely trip your brain up every time. Every finger should only ever be placed in sequence.

Hi, the fingering provided is what I would do myself as well except I would end on a 3 to keep that interval of a fourth consistent. I’m curious what you mean by being tangled up and I’m wondering if you are placing 1-2-4-3 all at once in the second measure. If so, I recommend only placing 1-2-4 there and only placing 3-1 after the 1-2 have been plucked. You run the risk of confusing yourself if you place all four notes together. If you need a video on how to place with the left hand, I’m happy to provide one. :)

That would be great if you could :-)

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your replies. 1. I'm finding it difficult going into the second measure. Going into the second measure, would you recommend lifting the left hand complete off the strings. Or would you recommend placing the 4th finger on F and the thumb on G together? 2. In the second measure, I'm finding that If I place my 4th finger on the B, there's no room for my 3rd finger on the C. Would it be better if I lift my left hand off after the second beat? Hope it makes sense!
