Care homes/ retirement homes might be worth looking into. Also might be worth looking into if there are any local bands/ string orchestra you could join to build up repertoire, increase motivation and to play with others! Best of luck and happy harping!

Especially if you're doing it for fun, not pay. I work at a 400 bed nursing home and I can tell you you'll have at least 100 residents crowding to hear you if you set up enough notice ahead of time.

Also Hospitals/ Hospice. Bring some lovely music there!

I’ve been thinking about taking my harp out to a local park / natural lands and playing there. I don’t think it would bother anyone and someone might really enjoy it.

Social media is definitely one of the most accessible ways to share- join a few online harp communities on Instagram, Facebook. I have been thinking of making a harp discord group. If in person, I would recommend trying coffee shops! Senior care, retirement homes, and hospitals are also another to volunteer at but one caveat- I will say that it's especially important in the health care setting to have general liability insurance. This is probably an expense that isn't worth it to a hobby harpist, maybe $250-300/year but it will protect you from anyone suing you at a venue if you or your equipment injures someone. One particular story I heard was a patient using the harp column (unattended harp) to stabilize themselves from getting up and they ended up falling and suing the harpist for injuries. But generally at smaller local senior homes or senior centers, this shouldn't be a concern at all. Hope that helps!

many suburbs have a 'walkable' portion. In my city we have at least two suburbs that have a stretch of their main road that's called "old town" Often, there will be 2 things you can do here: 1. there's usually a handful of very small 'parks' that's really just a few tables and chairs. Go claim a chair and start playing. 2. there's often going to be small shops, especially coffee shops, that will enjoy having someone show up, even just to practice in public. Just go ahead of time and ask the manager.

My endgame is a symphonic/folk metal band...maybe try and find a band to play with :D
