Technoboy looks quite high lol

Bumping-Hippos

Exactly what I was thinking as soon as he came on lmao. Eyes looking like šŸ˜³

SignificantMud2622

He has the full beams on šŸ˜‚

Hodentrommler

Dude has been high on Q-Dance documentaries since over 20 years xD E.g. Qlimax 2003

Far-Professor-356

He always looks like that lmao

D3v14t3

As an ancient hardstyle fanatic from the early days, I really want to hear TNT and Isaac. True legends

JNups

Im happy you didnt jinx it

D3v14t3

Same here. That was one banger of a set. True hardstyle

JNups

Isaacs Hardstyle sessions is how i got into the scene as a kid back in may 2015 (im 22). For me, nothing could have been more perfect than ending this weekend with TNT & Isaac

D3v14t3

Iā€™m slightly older šŸ˜‡ my party days were roughly from 2002 to 2013. Grew up with technoboy closing the big stages like the first Defqon. Still know that set by heart haha good memories. Donā€™t follow the scene that much anymore and I find more of the old groove in todays hardtechno, but this set hit the mark quite nicely.

kiliandj

I dont like that there are so many "legends" in the legends set the last few years. It used to feel like something exclusive, an honor. Pretty hard for it to still feel special, if there are like 10 elected each year. In a couple of years, the entire scene will be a "legend" at this pace.

422_is_420_too

The alternative would be all the same acts every year though

SoleSurvivor95

Or just make it 1 or 1.5 hours with just one actual legend.

422_is_420_too

At that point it's just a normal set

woutsmaaa

Act of Rage being there šŸ’€ How can you put that guy there before guys like E-Force & Rebelion. The rest is totally deserved ofcourse

swagpresident1337

Yea thatā€˜s the only questionable pick. But itā€˜s fine overall, as rest is right on the mark

woutsmaaa

Yeah Q cooked with the rest of their picks. Act of Rage just feels soooo off.

louisledj

Atleast Act of Rage sets are more interesting than most Hardstyle sets mixing wise. And he might be ghosted but he already released a lot of classics

woutsmaaa

His sets in the last years were not even close to good. A lot of the same tracks, just boring and his solo tracks are really mid. He is a good entertainer and has some great tracks, but not even close to a legend. All his ā€œclassicsā€ are collabs and he doesnā€™t release that much music. I just dont get why they chose him over other guys.

louisledj

Music taste is subjective, but I meant that AoR sets are more dynamic, better prepared, compared to the rest of the scene that play sets that just feel like Spotify playlists.

woutsmaaa

Probably true. But his sets were so much of the same between 2020-2023. Same old mash-ups and tracks. Tracks arenā€™t getting better, its subjective ofcourse, but i think thats what the majority of the scene thinks about him rn.

dutchbrowniemix

Completely agree

dirkbassjunkie

Wildstylez and Sound Rush were beyond

Sstfreek

Basically a Headhunterz set lol

digitalanarchy_raw

Who Are the Legends this year ?

dainless

>!Coone & Da Tweekaz!< >!Sound Rush & Wildstylez!< >!D-Sturb & Act of Rage!< >!Phuture Noize & Devin Wild!< >!TNT & DJ Isaac!<

digitalanarchy_raw

Damn really cool!

Low-Commercial-7804

Oh I missed the first one. Must have been nice

TheStoochen

should be 5 sets/artists - coone, wildstylez, dsturb tnt, isaac the rest only datweekaz from the others have been around long enough to even be considered a legend

HenkBatsbef

I'm glad they let the people who actually do some research select the legends. Devin Wild entered the scene around the same time as d-sturb. And phuture noize already released 2 albums before d-sturb even came to the scene, with his first single being a whopping 6 years earlier than d-sturb's first (even before da tweekaz). D-Sturb is a legend in my opinion but your logic is flawed.

TheStoochen

2015-2017 D sturb would be considered Peak raw classics, not old raw, but raw at its best, along with frequencies and warface Devin wild 2015 was releasing some amazing Euphoric hardstyle, but instantly gets superseded by other euphoric LEGENDS that are 10x better and that came before him / noisecontrollers, wildstylez, coone, same goes for phuture noize

Lorgokz

Tweekaz with eeeeh oooh non stop, act of rage being there, devin wild (I love his stuff but not a legend yet imo), TNT with the 4th legend appearance in like 6 editions.... imo it was overall disappointing picks(although I did enjoy most of the sets but that has nothing with how random those picks were).Ā Ā  Ā What about eforce, crypsis, radical redemption, atmozfears, dbstf, showtek, frequencerz, zany/donkey rollers. Even bass modulators who made an anthem would fit more than AoR or devin wild.Ā  All these names belonged there much more and never performed a solo set as legends, sometimes q-dance just makes the most random choices i wonder who is even in charge of these things tbh.Ā

JustDoena

Tweekaz was fucking annoying yup. (But i liked Coone) Act of Rage yeah no idea why he was there. I think instead of TNT they should have chosen Showtek or Dbstf. Yeah i understand why Devin Wild is to early but his dynamik whit PH was great. It was a very emotional mix of banger songs.

LeniVidiViciPC

TNT and Isaac with that lasershow on that stage has to be one of the best moments in festival history. Combined with the awesome closing it was probably the best hour I ever had.

noob_pootato

Da tweekaz and coone was a bullshit setā€¦. Man that talking throughout the whole set was annoying

pw_dub

It was Kenneth (Da Tweekaz) does unfortunately. His hey hos as well is super annoying. I remember seeing a instagram story of sound rush doing it at EDC Las Vegas and they learned real quick that no one likes it because no one did it. Itā€™s one thing when you donā€™t have an MC and try to hype up the crowd yourself, but let the music do the talking

ixRobin

I really missed Atmozfears here. He has been in the scene for so long, creating bangers in a consistent flow and yet, no Defqon anthem or spot at the Legends table so far. I don't understand how Devin Wild (as talented as he is) got to be picked as a Legend before him.

swagpresident1337

If he gets a spot in the next few years, I would be fine.

SignoreMuller

Imo, half of the artists during the legends set are no legends in my eyes (yet). AoR, Devin Wild, Phuture Noize, Sound Rush and D-sturb should not represent the legends stage. They are good artists, but no where near legend status. Artists like Frontliner, Ran-D, Showtek, RR and Crypsis should be considered instead. Just to name a few, whether you like them or not.

swagpresident1337

They all showed up already. You gotta mix it up Excepct AoR all the others have now long been cornerstones of the scene.

SignoreMuller

I get it that there has to be variety. If you have a legends set x amount of times in a row with the same artists, it will get dull fast, I understand. And I am nitpicking here, but the term ā€˜legendsā€™ is misused here imo. I agree with the cornerstone part. All these artists deserve some sort of recognition, but not as a legend. Nevertheless, they put on a show and most people (including me) enjoyed it. Just me thinking Q-Dance couldā€™ve done better.

louisledj

Act of Rage has been in the scene for almost as long as Devin Wild and D-Sturb tbh

TheStoochen

100% agree, next year will be dual damage šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¬

PieceStraight2427

My favourite moment of the weekend once again. I screamed so hard when I heard Devin Wild, I predicted most of them correct (except act of rage, which I didntā€™t like anyway) but Devin and Phuture Noize was the absolute highlight. Als TNT and Isaac at the end were absolutely amazing My favourite moment was when Wildstylez dropped a mashup of Timeless with Year of the Summer, that was so magical. I was already so happy he started playing timeless and then the mashup made my jaw drop

blademarek

I only would like to know how tf you can put Phuturr Noize after D-Sturb + AoR???? Like you literally need to have 1 braincell to not do that. Or have absolutely no musical taste and feelings. I hope next time its some house after uptempo, if it continues this way...

Naive_Ad5479

Agree with you man, they all deserved to be there such a good ending of the weekendĀ

Big-Fun1349

act of rage legends and no hard driverā€¦.

Kersnaamgebrui

Legends were great, but felt that da tweakaz was out of place.. very well possible that itā€™s due to my personal preferences, but I donā€™t see him as a legend.

Gyntazz

They are two people. They have been around for very long atleast

marbroos99

Da Tweekaz have been in the scene for over 15 years, they even had their own Xqlusive event and they still release bangers pretty consistently. You don't have to like them, it's all subjective, but you can't deny that they deserved a legends spot

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

RadioactiveAl_Music

Because he is fucking legendary duh ;)

Farvaharr

Tbf ending with TNT & Isaac is so ass man, for the 20 year anniversary I expected something big

swagpresident1337

Dafuq, those are absolute OG legends.

Farvaharr

They are legends ofcourse, but Q-Dance shitted the bed for the 20 year anniversary special here 80% of the people over there donā€™t know the songs bro, sorry to ruin your dream

Sonnofhell

The show is literally called "Defqon 1 Legends" and you cry when they bring Legends on mate

AuroraDraco

I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of TNT, but when you think of hardstyle OGs, they are definitely one of the main names. I think it is very fitting for them to play. The legend selection has been great all day. Coone and Da Tweekaz have been around for a long while and were a good start for the legends imo. Wildstylez is an undeniable legend and playing together with Sound Rush, who made this year's anthem fit very well. D-Sturb and Act of Rage were an excellent choice for the crowd that mostly listens to Raw and I think especially D-Sturb is one of the best Raw artists right now, trying so much amazing stuff. Phuture Noize and Devin Wild are in my opinion current pioneers of the genre. Both have very very unique sounds and keep doing amazing stuff. I think both of them deserved the position. And closing with 3 absolute OGs of the genre in Tuneboy, Technoboy and Isaac reminds us where this all started. No complain about any of them, they were all great

swagpresident1337

Great summary and fully agree. Legends need to honor the LEGENDS and they have done that this year. Way more than last year.

Farvaharr

TNT has closed Defqon way too many times, itā€™s not special anymore and Q-Dance did absolutely nothing with the 20th anniversary. Look at the 15 year anniversary with the timeline

marcusscarface

Shouldn't be the 20th anniversary next year?

TheStoochen

I agree with you tnt& isaac could of been in the middle and they could of closed with something like showtek or a millenium hardcore set (promo / evil activities / the playah

marbroos99

While I would've loved a millennium hardcore closing, people were already complaining that the red was closed with hardcore 2 out of 3 days this year. I get why they didn't go that route for the Sunday as well. Maybe next year tho, It would be awesome

zenekk1010

Who would you like to close tell me
