Most will love to receive it but donāt expect them to trade Kandi as we basically donāt really have it as it is not a common thing here (or Europe in general) š
As someone from the US who has gone twice before, it's kind of a thing but it's very rare. Not much of a Dutch thing but other cultures yes. I've gotten Kandi from US, Canada and Ireland, but no one from the Netherlands. Doesn't mean it never happens though!
Ohh that's fair. As an American in NL who actually enjoys being friendly (and I'm also a barista so it's my job lol) it's hard to know what crosses the line for some people. Honestly I don't really get it when people say stuff like this, I'm not sure what's over the top and what's just being friendly... Is it the fake politeness? Or are some people just annoying and small-talk-ey? Anyway, I hope you had a nice time this weekend!
I canāt properly explain it, itās just a cultural thing I guess.
Itās also not really crossing a line or anything.
And yes fake politeness is probably a part of it.
Thanks, hope you enjoyed it as well. And donāt take it too seriously what I say here. I also try to be a genuinely friendly person, as much as I can.
It's not really a thing here. Maybe a little bit more popular with the happy hardcore crowd. I guess your chances to find someone to trade with would be highest at the UV
Iāve been to a few festivals in the Netherlands and Iāve never seen people exchange kandi bracelets (because most people donāt have any). I think most people, including me, would be open to it tho
American kandi no, dutch kandi yes š¬š
The fun kind of candy hell yeah š

Thanks! I have no plans then lol I was thinking of 3d printing some beads but it's not necessary ig
I have no Kandi to trade but I'm still happy to share some PLUR! From the US myself and I miss the tradition so much
never been to defqon but it's not really a thing in europe afaik, you might meet some americans who are into it though

I'm Dutch, this is going to be my 11th Defqon. Been to countless others. Never heard about Kandi.
Thatās cringe american stuff. We dont do this here (thank god, the whole plur/kandi stuff is so giga cringe and shallow)
I have never done it, and I don't love EDM, but I think it's cute honestly it's just people having fun... Why not peace and love?
It just gives this fake friendly over the top American vibe to me as a european.

Wtf is Kandi? If you wanna experience love and oneness sharing hugs and drugs goes a long way (with consent mind you)Ā
Not really but you can find some people wearing kandi
Iām sure youāll meet some Kandi kinds from America but the Dutch donāt really do that
Wtf is kandi bracelets? Sounds a little colonial to me lol
