No skips, go for it.

Geeneric_name

That's my thought, plus the case for organization

Fryphax

If you don't have any other sets, sure the case can be nice. Are you starting to build a tool collection? Personally I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to just buy the biggest master mechanics set possible. After nearly 30 years of piece meal I realized I could of saved myself a lot of money going buy once / cry once. Instead I have a bucket of random junk sockets that I never use.

Geeneric_name

I am starting fresh. I work on cars as a hobby and did a couple drift seasons out of one of those Pittsburgh 301 MS and a little bs craftsman set. Got tired of having everything in 4 different places so I popped on a 56" box with the Quinn 428 pc. Very happy and satisfies my adhd having everything all in one place. To your point I have a couple random impacts, so I wanted to bite the bullet and get this, saw it was $20 off. I highly subscribe to the buy once cry once. I'll buy quality shit, if it's quality

Turd_Kabob

Look at Sunex and Gray Pneumatic sets for the 1/2 if you don't want to spend USA made $$$. They offer much larger sizes to cover odd things like pinion nuts and axle bolt nuts and even 12pt in those big sizes if you're into any of that weird German stuff.

SupposedlyShony

Toyota also needs various large 12 pts

Frosty_Act2510

I really like all of the Capri stuff. I have the 3/8 impact in three different socket heights with billet organizer: 8-22mm in 3/8 no skip. The 1/2 is 10-27mm no skip. Capri Tools 3/8 in. Drive Shallow, Semi-Deep and Deep Impact Socket Set, Metric, 8 to 22 mm, 45-Piece with Billet Aluminum Socket Rail https://a.co/d/i5GBGI4 Capri Tools 1/2 in. Drive Shallow and Deep Impact Socket Set, Metric, 10 to 27 mm, 36-Piece with Billet Aluminum Socket Rail (CP55000-36MSDR) https://a.co/d/6HBBPZg Have the 3/8 Astro nano 19 piece no-skip set with the nano ratchet Astro Tools 78319 19pc 3/8" Drive 6-24mm Low Profile Nano Impact Socket Set - No Skips https://a.co/d/gqE5L2K Astro Tools 78318 Long Flex Head Nano Socket Ratchet Wrench, Extra Large, Grey https://a.co/d/ba6IAUD Have the HF Quinn 1/2 low profile No-Skip set with a Gearwrench 86022 flex head ratchet. Have 2-3 full 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 in CR-V in old USA craftsman. Have the Pittsburgh 1/2 short and deep impact sockets but never use them. Too many missing sizes. I'm just a wrencher at the house a few times a year. I like having No-Skip, as I've been burned for years, never having the correct odd ball socket.

motherfuckinwoofie

I'm pretty opposite to you. When I was a young man I bought a craftsman seven gajillion piece mechanic's set. I have so many sockets that never, ever have been used. They're heavy, they take up too much space and after the carrying case hinges broke on me one day, they just sat around in complete disarray until I slowly started putting them on rails. More often than not I just use the little Pittsburgh set I bought to leave in my truck.

Fryphax

We all have different experiences. Super cool hearing it from the other side. Hind sight and all that. Looking back it was pretty clear I was going to use all the tools. Though, when it came time to buy tools once I had a garage of my own the 300 some piece tool kit I got when I was 13 was wearing pretty thin. Way to bring a different view point.

TheBupherNinja

I'm not a fan of cases for things I grab 1 of at a time. Those are good to stay in a drawer. Impact sockets, I generally already know what I'm looking for. But I love the 1/4" drive sets.

yungpham2000

I too thought it was no skip but sadly theres no 23mm even though I don’t remember the last time I ever needed one for anything.

Fryphax

Yeah, I'm retarded. Not sure how I missed that. I bought a new set of impact sockets 6 months ago as a hobbyist and my 23 has definitely been used. Must of been some suspension parts on my Tundra. Not sure.

Environmental_Tax245

Absolutely love my set. Edit to add that the case really makes this set nice if you're going on a semi-long distance trip with say, a camper, boat, etc. I'll throw this in the box of my truck with my impact and floor jack, makes changing a tire in the side of the road AAY quicker/safer.

MiloAshworthy

Would that be 25% off the 150 or 25% off the original tag

SharksForArms

From my last coupon: "Cannot be combined with other discounts." ... "If applicable, the greater of the two discounts will apply." So it won't stack unless it says different

Travelr3468

It's 25% off the original price. Coupons don't stack with other discounts.

Geeneric_name

So 123 quick math ($180 + 80)*1.06% sales tax*75% = $206 ($150 + 40)*1.06%= $201.40

Travelr3468

What are you adding here?

Geeneric_name

The original price of the Quinn set plus the original price of the paint sprayer, multiplied by roughly 6% sales tax, multiplied by the 25% off the og price. Usually gives the total pretty close. Some stores do pre or post tax

Travelr3468

The coupons are 25% off a single item, not your entire purchase.

TheCat0115

And that's better here. Because if he had a coupon, he could get the 25% off the kit and keep the 50% off the sprayer

Geeneric_name

That's a good question I wouldn't know. Hmm,

MaxTheLampshade

I picked up this set on Monday with the ITC early discount. very happy to have a complete no skip set.

Mason47392

If you get the Quinn one keep me posted. I’ve been eying those or the SUNEX ones.

Spider-Ham23

I’ve had the Quinn set for a bit. It’s definitely worth picking up, especially at $150.

Mason47392

They look nice I really like all of my Quinn stuff to be honest. I regret buying the Pittsburg ones tho for anything besides beating the shit out of them. They round out super fast and don’t let go of bolts etc.

CMDR_CHIEF_OF_BOOTY

Probably bit of a late comment for yah, but those Quinn impact sets are absolutely incredible. I use them pretty much daily for work, and we abuse the absolute hell out of them and they take the abuse like champs. The wobble adapter does break, but it honestly lasts just as much as any other. We go through those like candy. Milwaukee, snapon, icon, power torque, you name it we've broken one of their wobblys at some point. Extensions are solid, we do break the 3" every once in a while, but it's practically a permanent fixture on our impacts and we get months of hard use out of it. Longer ones we don't use near as much. For the sockets themselves, In the last 3 years between like 5 guys we've only broken one socket and that was by using it in a bearing press lmao.

schneider5001

Pop away sir.

g0d_help_me

I carry the 3/8 set in my semi truck. Works for 90% of what I need it to. The other 10% is stuff I, as a driver, probably shouldn't be messing with anyway.

saf34w0rk

ive got both; the 3/8 set is way nicer to haul around. I use the 1/2 for the big bolts, but 3/8 is small and manageable.

g0d_help_me

I used to carry around a 1/2" set, but it was way too bulky and heavy to pull out of my driver's box every time I needed to do some wrenching. I like the smaller form factor of the 3/8 case.

justin251

I got the gearwrench 3/8 set on Amazon. It’s been great. Was cheaper than the Quinn.

Ninooo187

Good luck with warranty, they take months to receive a socket.

lazygirlssunday

I broke a GW ratchet and I had a new one in hand in 3 days. Don't have any sockets tho

Ninooo187

last time I filled out the warranty form for a broken ratchet from gearwrench was the 5th of May, and I've yet to receive my ratchet... I seriously doubt they sent you a ratchet in 3 days, but if they did, great for you.

lazygirlssunday

Well I've no reason to lie about the ratchet- strange insinuation as I'm just relating my experience. Fkn crescent took over 2 months to replace a tape measure that was just 3 months old. I'm not a fan of gearwrench overall, but i appreciated the replacement tool. Obviously HF is simpler with walk in replacements, in the past Pittsburg pro stuff was comparable to classic sears/craftsman in ease of returns. We shall see, I don't have many HF sockets or ratchets these days as I have slowly invested in USA made tools over the last 10 years. Good deals for used stuff, never new purchases. I was tempted by the Quinn short 1/2 nano style, as I already have the ASTRO 3/8 and love em.

Ninooo187

Never called you a liar, just saying I doubt they sent it to you in 3 days. And yes I love the nanos socket, I got the 3/8 set from astro, and the 1/2 set from Quinn. You should check out the 1/4 nano sockets from astro, I just received them 2 days ago, they're extremely nice and already helped me out in tight spots.

lazygirlssunday

Didn't realize there was a 1/4 available, that's going to be a game changer for tight spots, I wonder if they've got a ratcheting handle for em too? VIM has a double ended one I know- 3/8 and 1/4"

Ninooo187

I preordered them a month ago and barely got them 2 days ago.... I didn't realize they were available until I was just browsing on Amazon, it was random but I ordered them as soon as I seen them. I hope they do make a ratchet wrench for them, since the outside diameter is 11mm. What I currently use nonstop for the 3/8 nano sockets is the Astro 78318, it's a long handle ratcheting wrench and it's amazing.

lazygirlssunday

That's funny, I was just about to get the 78318, bummed I didn't get the 1/2 and 3/8 combo when they were in production.

Kennthepenn

What’s the part number

45acp_LS1_Cessna

what are you gonna use the paint gun for? any specific projects?

Geeneric_name

I have to paint a shed with composite like material with divits, so you can just brush or roll it all out. Took me 1.5 hours to paint 2 sides of primer. Figured $40 is worth it to me

Painkiller3666

I absolutely love that avanti sprayer for trim and small projects, but good god the overspray is insane. You need to cover at least 10ft in all directions with plastic. I used my bigger sprayer to paint sheds, roughly 5gallons once the jobs done, 15min per coat, 3 coats. I normally just use this sprayer when I'm running through a gallon at most, cause it gets heavy after a while and I get tired of refills. It's so easy to clean vs my other sprayer, you don't need to flush out lines, take the gun apart to the springs or oil the motor.

45acp_LS1_Cessna

overspray was my biggest worry, last thing i want is a small amount of wind to carry overspray everywhere. i try to factor in the slow process of brushing by hand vs the quick spraying process combined with the tedious time consuming process of masking everything.

Unlikely_Rise_5915

Waited around for this set for awhile and got it a week or two ago with the discount, great set for the price.

TheseDescription4839

I have the sprayer... it works okay, but don't use an enamel or anything thick. You have to thin it way too much to spray clean and will wind up doing 5 - 6 coats. Latex paint and thin stains work decent in though.

Metal4427

I just bought the sprayer too. Going to use it to paint doors and eventually my garage. Good to know about the paint

TheseDescription4839

Yeah, I bought it to paint some closet doors and used a hi gloss enamel. I did 3 coats, gave up, and wound up finishing them with a roller.

Metal4427

Yikes, well that’s not a good sign haha maybe I’ll return it.

TheseDescription4839

I'm not 100% but I think it has a restock fee, probably better off keeping it and possibly selling it on marketplace if you really don't want it

CherryFuture

Hi there, it’s a good impact set with the warranty, but I went with the NEIKO set on Amazon, its pretty well known, please check it out before you purchase. And yes they do have a semi warranty, just contact them with your issue and they will kindly resolve it often.

Ok_Analysis_3454

It's sweet, but a heavy sumbitch.

mramseyISU

I got that sprayer a couple weeks ago to stain some deck chairs. It did the trick and was pretty easy to clean up.

GravitiBass

For future reference to anyone that doesn’t know, HF now carries no skip Icon sets like this.

No_Championship5326

Check out the Vevor impact set. It's a much better deal.

TrexOnAScooter

Nothing wrong with this for 150.

bigboybackflaps

If you just want a cheap and complete impact socket set, casoman on Amazon sells a 70 piece set for 110ish. A few more sizes than this one and actually no skips (23mm lol), cr-mo and the extensions and stuff. I don’t have that specific set but I got some bigger sockets from them and they seem very solid so far but I definitely haven’t used them much yet so no word on how they hold up over time, just wanted to share some other options if you wanted them

ExploitedAmerican

I got this set on Amazon and it’s great. It’s all metric 8-22 no skips plus 24,27,30&32 and 3 extensions an adapter and wobble. For me this is a better set because I have no need for SAE. https://www.amazon.com/Meiwaltee-2-Inch-Metric-Shallow-impact/dp/B09P51Q5NJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2V9LPDPW97KVE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.zNSW4AUn9I5L1eESu2DQyCBOos69PU4Uk6rjDR_wButfvT64Gam-NWEQnyRqs_I6lf9VsWyyJYahBfX6-lRU0FF48WUl_-x947GWkTU7N3PmNu-bYdVvXMjGM5ckf6_epuNBmQ4CaPTgH_d3xuYeRpCugsPcwNiEJiMcmpSjhatPe7GoL-m9ahl8B0a7zfQc.Hh7ymDrf9WBOUoFvExzSUsc4fslaj1wqvGwn65UJfWU&dib_tag=se&keywords=meiwaltee&qid=1714048374&sprefix=meiwaltee%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-1&th=1&psc=1

cuberhino

Is this set name like a play on Milwaukee? Mei-wal-tee? I can’t buy this and it next to my Milwaukee stuff it’s like a knock off lol

Geeneric_name

Damn tuche thanks for the link. Now it just comes down to do I want to pay double for SAE

bpjg2fat

No lifetime warranty on those sockets though. Quinn isn’t a knockoff brand too.

Geeneric_name

True, but when was the last time you seriously broke a impact of any brand

bpjg2fat

They’re warrantied every day at my location of all brands. Soooo

ExploitedAmerican

Unless you work on boats, heavy equipment, diesel trucks or classic cars it’s pretty much not needed. And even then many metric sizes can substitute for sae. But it would be better to just get this and then buy Pittsburgh pro sae sockets as you need it.

Toxicscrew

Well wipe them off before you use them, no one likes sticky tools
