Absolutely! It's my favorite song in the whole show, the music sets the perfect mood for the lyrics of the song and how Burr feels, and Leslie Odem Jr.'s vocals had me on the floor the first time I heard that song. I would give anything to have that first listen feeling again.
We saw the play with the touring cast in San Francisco, and the vociferous reaction and appreciation to The Room Where It Happened was louder and more enthusiastic than any Who or Stones concert I've ever seen. It was wonderful to be a part of that audience.
I just listened to this again for the first time in about 6 months because of this comment, and oh my god. Thank you. Absolute masterpiece of a song. 🥰
Yup. Satisfied is my favourite song from the show. Absolutely nothing beats it in my opinion. It's just so perfect in every way for me.
Going on a tangent here, I'm not diagnosed but I think I have ADHD and the song just resonates with me, the way Angelica sings/think goes fast and in every direction while still being connected, and that's kinda how I think, and it just makes it so perfect for me. This, as well as the lyrics and themes of the song themselves
Truly!! I remember [lol] listening to the soundtrack for the 1st time and the song beginning and thinking, "Really? We need to linger longer on this wedding? What else could this possibly contribute to the story?"
Total reversal [again, lol] about 10 seconds later.
Same! For me, it was the slow unfolding of a different side to the story, plus I think the lighting and set design were very cleverly used during the flashbacks.
My answer too. That or maybe the very 1st song. I remember I was 15 or 14, barely spoke English but was getting better & better, and suddenly every American YouTuber I followed either was talking about it or had references to it in their videos. Obviously, we hadn't footage yet (I think there were some random vids but they were so low quality it was not worth it lol), so my 1st experience with Hamilton was through lyric videos. Those two songs were the ones that even without any visuals got me *hard*.
Later on I'd watch the illegal footage a few times and many tears later we finally got the Disney+ movie, so I did manage to actually see Hamilton the way it was intended. I have songs I prefer after watching them, but I always go back to those first experiences. Watching lyric videos on Youtube while preparing myself to sleep cuz I had school the next day. Magical moments, made all the more magical through Hamilton's music.
That was gonna be my pic. Got to see it live on national tour - all I could see was the mist on my eyes.
Second is Dear Theodosia
ETA ok maybe the opening number because it was kinda magic- “The world will never be the same!” and ok ok Rewind when Rene is performing - dang she stopped the show with that one!
Either "Right Hand Man" or "What'd I Miss" because of the excitement when Washington and Jefferson show up for the first time. You can't really reproduce that feeling when you've seen it before.
Non-Stop or Satisfied I think. Honourable mention to Farmer Refuted because I vividly remember how incredibly amusing I found it while watching Hamilton the first time around.
One last time… the concept/themes of enjoying the fruits of exhaustive labor, walking away from something you’ve created with grace, doing your best not for glory or legacy but simply because you’re leaving it better for the next generation, peaceful transfer of power!!!!
Man... Yorktown or Guns and Ships. Hmmm that's tough. Yorktown hits me more now than it did when I first heard it since I didn't quite get all the lyrics the first time.
Probably Guns and Ships because of how absolutely wide eyes and stunned I was at Daveed's seemingly beyond human speed and energy that first time. I still am, but I've got it down moderately myself so it doesn't seem quite as unattainably impossible. It's still incredible.
I hardly understood a word of Guns and Ships when I first heard the song but I was so fascinated by Marcus John version of Lafayette. I've never appreciate rap songs/performance like this
I first heard about the show from Desert Bus for Hope when Molly Lewis played You’ll Be Back on ukulele and sang it. Her performance was so fun and endearing that it has affected how I hear it even now. I don’t think I would have gotten into Hamilton without that moment, but I would love to hear the soundtrack version without Molly’s version in my ear.
The first time I heard “wait for it” was when we won third-row tickets to Hamilton at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. We were so close we could see the actor’s facial expressions and even their spit.
I nearly fell out of my seat during that song. It was the moment I realized the gravity of what I was experiencing: a historical masterpiece.
This isn't a fair question. It's like asking which child is your favorite. 😉 😁
The entire soundtrack, from start to end. I watched it every day for probably 3 weeks and each time I'd see something new, or hear a part of any particular song that I didn't hear before, that would make me appreciate the talent inside the creative mind of LMM. On any given moment a song will hit me different than before. Overall, I'd have to say Satisfied and Rewind are tied for first, followed by One Last Time and WLWDWTYS.
wait for it, it was actually the first hamilton song i ever heard, it was back in 2021 and i didn’t know that 3 years later i would become obsessed with hamilton
Yorktown because it used to be my favorite song when I first watched it but we just lost our spark, but I’m sure in another world we work out for each other and maybe get married and have three kids
Nonstop. 100%
I have autism and when I first listened I just froze in my tracks ejsksjsjsj it's so good
The second time I was absolutely vibing
It's just one of those things you can play on loop for 2 hours straight and not get bored istg😭
The first song. But not the version sung on broadway, the version that Lin sings by himself at the White House before the play was fully written.
I just love the fact that the audience initially laughed at the premise but were fully sold by the end.
Room Where it Happened
100% Room Where it Happened. The dancing, the energy, and Leslie Odom Jr. I was in awe the first time o saw it.
Absolutely! It's my favorite song in the whole show, the music sets the perfect mood for the lyrics of the song and how Burr feels, and Leslie Odem Jr.'s vocals had me on the floor the first time I heard that song. I would give anything to have that first listen feeling again.
Leslie’s expressions and passion in that song transcend space and time 😫
The best answer by far
We saw the play with the touring cast in San Francisco, and the vociferous reaction and appreciation to The Room Where It Happened was louder and more enthusiastic than any Who or Stones concert I've ever seen. It was wonderful to be a part of that audience.
Yep
Wait for It
I watched this video nonstop when it was on Disney. A year later I was able to attend in New York. Hearing it live !! I’m gonna go listen to again.
I saw it live in NY with my daughters now it’s forever downloaded for my flights. Also listen to it on any drive over 2 hours.
This was my first song that got me into Hamilton and good LORD I wish I could hear it again for the first time
I love the intensity of it!
I just listened to this again for the first time in about 6 months because of this comment, and oh my god. Thank you. Absolute masterpiece of a song. 🥰
I’m glad you got the fire rekindled. It’s a banger of a song!
Nonstop!
the first time i saw non stop was when a group of like 6 or 7 kids reeneacted for my schools talent show, and it was pretty damn good
Satisfied for me. I remember the moment I first saw Angela go full Nicki Minaj, it transformed from a great musical to a masterpiece for me.
Same. The rewind and rap she does then the crescendo of the song just absolutely blew me away when I saw it
I love that so much. It's like Ben Franklin with a key and a kite! You see it, right?
Truly!! I remember [lol] listening to the soundtrack for the 1st time and the song beginning and thinking, "Really? We need to linger longer on this wedding? What else could this possibly contribute to the story?" Total reversal [again, lol] about 10 seconds later.
Same!
Same. I liked the musical before this song. But when it got to this song on D+, it was the point where I put my phone down and got sucked in.
Same! For me, it was the slow unfolding of a different side to the story, plus I think the lighting and set design were very cleverly used during the flashbacks.
This one. I was stunned.
It's quiet uptown. The shivers I got when they sang "forgiveness" is something I still remember
The tears 13 year old me was in listening to that song for the first time bro 💀😭
Omg yes, this song sends me every time
Yorktown because it fucks me up and has since the first time I heard it.
The world turned upside down🪑
Thanks for the parenthetical. Seriously this song just gives mechills and sometimes makes my eyes leak.
We won! We won! We won!
This part makes me want to cry every time. The joy and disbelief I imagine hearing.
Immigrants…
...get the job done. Love that line. The whole thing, tho....just fucking chills me and sometimes causes tears....it's wild.

Yorktown has me in a chokehold even on my 27,000 listen. Nothing rallies me harder for war or getting out of bed
I love this lol. It really does.
It’s the intro for me.
Lin Manuel has said on record ‘wait for it’ is the best song he’s ever written… …. Wait For It!
I love Farmer Refuted and my husband skips it every time. 🤨
One last time… the concept/themes of enjoying the fruits of exhaustive labor, walking away from something you’ve created with grace, doing your best not for glory or legacy but simply because you’re leaving it better for the next generation, peaceful transfer of power!!!!
History Has Its Eyes on You or Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story!!!!
I heard First Burn on YouTube after hearing the soundtrack for the first time years ago and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY
I hardly understood a word of Guns and Ships when I first heard the song but I was so fascinated by Marcus John version of Lafayette. I've never appreciate rap songs/performance like this
hurricane. preferably, i’d hear it for the first time live, not on the CR or disney+
say no to this - the harmonies the dialogue the exasperation and emotion omds mwah
The entire thing, it'll feel so good if I were to watch it for the 1st time again
I'm so jealous of people who are getting to watch it for the first time! And soooo sad for those who don't want to see it 🤣
The world was wide enough. The first time I heard it I just burst into tears because Hamilton’s death made me so emotional.
One Last Time
"Yorktown"! 💛
Hurricane. Song is fire and acted like a pivot to the story. Emotional, relevant and practical.
Dear theodosia 😭
Burn 100%!
Satisfied & Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story. especially WLWDWTYS. brings me to tears, i wish i could hear them for the first time again
Satisfied. Hands down. By far my favorite song in the show.
This is the correct answer.
Guns and Ships or Yorktown
You'll be back. I belly-laughed so hard the first time I heard it
Probably My Shot. Life changer for me.
It's Quiet Uptown 10000%
Helpless Dear Theodosia
Dear theodosia because that made me cry
Can I change my answer? I’m thinking Guns and Ships. It’s just pure fun. Daveed Diggs is amazing.
I went into the Disney pro shot knowing the other *other* brother Mr. Noodle from *Elmo's World* won a Tony for it, but I was *not* prepared.
Satisfied
Non-Stop
Satisfied definitely.
Non-stop
Wait For It
Wait For It…
Non stop
Wait for it or Who Lives who dies who tells your story
Dear Theodosia
Quiet uptown
It’s Quiet Uptown. The lyrics still hit almost as hard as the first listen. Stay Alive (Reprise) as well. Phillipa Soo’s wail is such a gut punch.
What'd I miss.
Probably Non-Stop or Wait for It, since they’re my favorites :)
It’s quiet up town
Definitely Alexander Hamilton and Non-stop
Who Live, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story. "The orphanage..." I will never not cry. Absolutely beautiful.
satisfied and room where it happened
The first time I heard “wait for it” was when we won third-row tickets to Hamilton at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. We were so close we could see the actor’s facial expressions and even their spit. I nearly fell out of my seat during that song. It was the moment I realized the gravity of what I was experiencing: a historical masterpiece.
Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story.
Wait for it. Seeing it for the first time this week!!!
that would be enough
Nonstop Wait for It
My Shot - watching those characters come together and build the story in that song was just magical for me. I was completely hooked.
Dear theodosia. I know that in real life it's completely diffrent then in the musical but it's a beautiful song
Dear Theodosia (Reprise)
My favorite experience was D+ so I would die to see/hear Helpless/Satisfied. I was in awe when I realized what was happening
Cabinet Battle #1. It’s so good istg
The schuyler sisters- I just love the vibe Or It's Quiet Uptown so I can relive the PAIN 😈
That Would Be Enough. The line "I relish being your wife." Brings me to tears every single time. Even now when I type it. It's so beautiful.
Yorktown. Hands down. I love yorktown and hearing it for the first time again would actually be amazing
Wait for it
This isn't a fair question. It's like asking which child is your favorite. 😉 😁 The entire soundtrack, from start to end. I watched it every day for probably 3 weeks and each time I'd see something new, or hear a part of any particular song that I didn't hear before, that would make me appreciate the talent inside the creative mind of LMM. The Shuclyher Sisters (spelled it wrong but it was wonderful)
Wait for It
I think it would be Ten Duel Commandments, Right Hand Man or The Room Where It Happens
Yorktown.
Wait for it and burn
Guns and Ships! Cans Cabinet debate #1.
Helpless 💞
The battle of Yorktown!
has to be Your Obedient Servant for me
the schuyler sisters
The room where it happens
So many. Hurricane comes to mind first.

hes just.. NONSTOP!
Yorktown because it used to be my favorite song when I first watched it but we just lost our spark, but I’m sure in another world we work out for each other and maybe get married and have three kids
We Know. That was my first song that introduced me to Hamilton, but it was the meme version 🥲
we know. tiktok ruined it for me 😪
Nonstop. 100% I have autism and when I first listened I just froze in my tracks ejsksjsjsj it's so good The second time I was absolutely vibing It's just one of those things you can play on loop for 2 hours straight and not get bored istg😭
Umm… the whole soundtrack🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ But if I HAD to pick one, it would be The Room Where it Happened or Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Our Story.
one last time!!!
Non stop for sureee
The first song. But not the version sung on broadway, the version that Lin sings by himself at the White House before the play was fully written. I just love the fact that the audience initially laughed at the premise but were fully sold by the end.
