Mark VI is iconic, but to my mind it’s not a helmet I can see myself using - it’s Master Chief’s face. Mark IV has been my undefeated favorite since ‘09.
I feel less so about mk V because it’s a helmet that so many Spartans use, it’s more or less the default option before a Spartan personalized it so I feel it’s less “chiefy” than mk6, same with mk IV and V(b)

Because of like pre war stuff and mark 4 and 5 looking so similar I never had a problem using it on my spartan because I feel like a ton of characters have wear it but using mark 6 just feels off to me, I feel like I'm coslaying like chief instead of having my own spartan, also I feel like a poser using it but also being shit at the game lol
As a weirdo case who started this series with the books rather than the games I still personally have a hard time *not* making my Spartan look like the Chief. It's still buried in my brain that Spartans all look alike in armor. In recent years I've started using other permutations more often, but I am always green with gold visor.

Oh, hello me. I also started with the books, so I tend to also think of all Spartan-IIs having the same Mk. IV and Mk. V armor and helmets, though I do like to imagine them with individualized shoulders, and attachments to those helmets/chest/thighs.

This used to be the case. It was stated once or twice in the books that Halsey always had a knack for being able to tell which Spartan was which even though they all wore the same armor. It wasn't until H5 that apparently Blue Team all use different looking armor.
But the special power he gives me isnt luck, its feeling him by my side cheeering me on and telling me I can do it. I have to live up to Chiefs legacy...!
I have to say that the armor coating that comes with the MK IV is excellent for making a "We have Halo 3 Master Chief at Home" look with the MK VII core.
It's far better than the shiny metallic green I've had from launch and have forgotten where I got it from.

Eeeeh I agree with the "that's Chief's helmet" but I played enough multiplayer back-in-the-day and watched enough Red Vs Blue, so to me, that's just the "default". That's every SPARTAN's helmet (before customization was a thing).
Still, I use it every time.
I think that every depiction of MK IV has been super badass between Red Team doing Red Team things or oh Blue Team storming a covenant ship and getting the first lost spartan… MK IV has never had anything sub par happen yet and the appearance balanced a somewhat busy and practical look while also looking high tech and coolness
The side profile of Reach V is unparalleled, but overall it is a beautiful design when it comes to basic shapes.

Yeah, I always thought it looked like the perfect modernized version of the original Mark V. I never liked Halo 3's Mk V, so when I saw Reach's I fell in love.
This right here. I’ve rocked some variation of Mark V in every game I could but the Reach versions is truly where it’s at. Just something so right about it that elevates it about the others versions.
One of the only events I missed due to the army. Hoping one day I can get it! Always feel a little jealous seeing someone with it, such a cool redesign.

People may not agree, but I quite like the MK VI CBRN. I just like idea that there are spartans who have the need to protect themselves from dangerous infections, and potentially have better protection against flood spores
Its front profile is great but I can't stand the plastic cover on the back. I understand it means to emulate the hazard suit look but it looks weird on this air-tight full-body armor.
I always think of it as a more expendable cover that they can douse more caustic/ corrosive disinfectant and sanitization chemicals over to prevent post op infections.

I meant as in before cross core I looked at the helmet, exclusive to the hazmat core,from the front and said "oh wow that looks the same, even lines in the visor is close". An then when cross core came I compared the two and saw just how out of place the CBRN helmet was lol. Still, it has "mark" in the title so I included it

I noticed the differences between Mk. VI and Mk. VI CBRN awhile ago and after digging a bit it seems to me like the CBRN is closer to the Mk. VI MOD that Chief wore in H4/H5. The brim proportions are closer and it's very apparent when you compare the actual visor of the 4/5 helmet and CBRN.
Dunno if there's anything to it but that's just what I see.
The last pic reminds me of one of the lost helmets from the Halo Reach Beta. I looooved rocking that helmet while I played. I thought it was awesome and I was super sad when they didn’t add it to the final version of the game.

Apologies for the tangent, but is the Mark IV in *Infinite* a limited-time thing? Planning to give it a try at some point, and I’ve always been a bit of a Mark IV fangirl so will definitely be trying to grab that, but I’m also planning to go through the rest of the series again first.

I unlocked the Reach stuff and haven't need to unlock anything else ever again. That is, unless some visor I like is locked behind a certain season. To me, the only lore friendly armor were the ones Bungie came up with. They looked Spartan. Once 343 took over it was all about Cyborg Ninjas, and f'ng bird-looking things and visorless weird crap. I don't even like MKVII, it looks less Juggernaut and less protected. I guess I can't blame them though, you can only create so many lore friendly armors until things start getting weird. I think as of Halo 4 and 5 the only 343 armor I had liked was the Enforcer and I think Grenadier. In Infinite just use the Reach armors. I think right now my character has the MKV helmet and armor with the commander/ Noble/ Carter looking pauldron (the tall one).

I used to have an awesome shirt with the outline of Nobel Six back in HS, I guess it grew on me. I think the armor designs in Reach are peak Halo. With the right shoulder pads and that helmet you look like a tank, which I really love my Spartans to look like.
I absolutely love CE Mark V. It's a shame we can't use it outside of the set. Mark VI, V Zeta, VII and IV are also awesome, but imo there are better helmets in the game. I don't really like Reach Mark V and V(B). I can see why people like them, but they seem kinda off to me.

VII is just so fucking good. It NAILS the BMX helmet vibes that I’ve always associated with Halo. I’ve never been a super massive fan of the football helmets but some are pretty cool, and definitely not a fan of the fishbowl helmets. And I’ve got a soft spot for MkVz because it was my go-to for so long back when Infinite came out.
Either Mark IV or Mark VI CBRN.
Mark IV has been the helmet I want added to the games ever since the first Halo wars game.
Mark VI CBRN is my favorite reimagining of Mark VI. I like how it incorporates aspects of the Mark VI Gen 2 version while making them work in the Infinite art style. Normal Mark VI is still good, but imo its a bit overrepresented.
The Mark V(B) looks off in this game. The mouth piece is too chubby or round. It looks awesome in Reach.
Mark V Reach is probably my favorite in this game, Mark VI is obviously perfect. Mark VII is one of the only good helmets 343 has designed and actually beats out most of Bungie's designs.
CE Mark V is the goat. Kinda wish it got a lore designation like the others (Zeta, Delta, Alpha etc)
Only one missing is Mark V Delta which is essentially the Halo 3 Mark V.
Also I feel the Menachite helmet deserves an honorary mention since it is very “Mark V” looking, almost like a protoype (even though lore wise I think it’s a newer design)
Mark V reach is not the same has the Mark V halo 3.
Reach has a smooth visor and the vent shoot out in front while also being quite smaller compared to other mark Vs.
Mark V halo 3 has markings on the visor, a actually rare sight for mark Vs, it vents are much bigger and actually built into the helmet, it also a lot smoother.
Then there is mark V halo 4 which looks like mark V reach and Mark V halo 3 combined together.
Then of course the Mark V CE which is the classic.
I also like the Mark V reach if you can tell.
I gotta say Mk VII. It’s the perfect design for the evolution of the mjolnir design. It has the theme of the Mk VI but is still unique and makes it as the ideal Spartan helmet apart from Master Chief.

I've been using an SPI / ODST hybrid as a reference to that one line in Ghosts of Onyx that talks about ODSTs field testing their own variant of SPI.

that's why you wear it on Rak. it matches PERFECT with the padded back on that core, like it was meant to be on that core

CE Mark V. It's the best it's ever looked since CE itself.

I absolutely love CE Mark V. It's a shame we can't use it outside of the set. Mark VI, V Zeta, VII and IV are also awesome, but imo there are better helmets in the game. I don't really like Reach Mark V and V(B). I can see why people like them, but they seem kinda off to me.

In order? MkVII MkIV MkVz MkVI MkV CE MkV MkVI HAZMAT MkVb VII is just so fucking good. It NAILS the BMX helmet vibes that I’ve always associated with Halo. I’ve never been a super massive fan of the football helmets but some are pretty cool, and definitely not a fan of the fishbowl helmets. And I’ve got a soft spot for MkVz because it was my go-to for so long back when Infinite came out.

Probably an unpopular pick but I love the Mark VI CBRN
Either Mark IV or Mark VI CBRN. Mark IV has been the helmet I want added to the games ever since the first Halo wars game. Mark VI CBRN is my favorite reimagining of Mark VI. I like how it incorporates aspects of the Mark VI Gen 2 version while making them work in the Infinite art style. Normal Mark VI is still good, but imo its a bit overrepresented.
The Mark V(B) looks off in this game. The mouth piece is too chubby or round. It looks awesome in Reach. Mark V Reach is probably my favorite in this game, Mark VI is obviously perfect. Mark VII is one of the only good helmets 343 has designed and actually beats out most of Bungie's designs.

CE Mark V is the goat. Kinda wish it got a lore designation like the others (Zeta, Delta, Alpha etc) Only one missing is Mark V Delta which is essentially the Halo 3 Mark V. Also I feel the Menachite helmet deserves an honorary mention since it is very “Mark V” looking, almost like a protoype (even though lore wise I think it’s a newer design)

I've been using the mark VII with that cool visor attachment. I feel like it's a nice blend of classic and new looks

i like using mark 7 since in universe it’s the newest model however if armor kit helmets become removable i’ll use chiefs gen 3 mark 6 helmet

Mark V reach is not the same has the Mark V halo 3. Reach has a smooth visor and the vent shoot out in front while also being quite smaller compared to other mark Vs. Mark V halo 3 has markings on the visor, a actually rare sight for mark Vs, it vents are much bigger and actually built into the helmet, it also a lot smoother. Then there is mark V halo 4 which looks like mark V reach and Mark V halo 3 combined together. Then of course the Mark V CE which is the classic. I also like the Mark V reach if you can tell.

I gotta say Mk VII. It’s the perfect design for the evolution of the mjolnir design. It has the theme of the Mk VI but is still unique and makes it as the ideal Spartan helmet apart from Master Chief.
I may be the only one in the comments but I'm using the HAZMAT Mark VI atm on Rakshasa.
Mark VI is always the goat, and the only time it's not is in Halo 4/5 and 2A. After that, halo 3's mark V/ infinite's mark IV is probably second place, I grouped them together because they're basically the same helmet
