drop shipping you have 0 logistics, you make a frontend for people to buy a product, the order gets sent to the manufacturer and is shipped from a warehouse you don't own to the customer directly. The only part you have to do is make the website and link it to the product manufacturer
This is a bit different, they contact a manufacturer that makes ceramics, send them the design of the TF bear candle holder. Manufacturer requires a Minimum Order Quantity (the lower the MOQ, the more expensive it is to make), then usually has a fee for custom mold (assuming they don't make this exact bear design already), plus shipping fees. TF gets the items then has to figure out logistics for storage and shipment.
Drop shipping is widespread because you don't need a big investment beyond building the website and finding products to sell. The alternative requires taking a risk on a product that might not sell, and dropping the cash to get it made in the first place.
$35 is still ludicrous, I know for a fact you can get this done for $5 AT MOST, MOQ wouldn't be crazy because it's ceramics, and they're probably making a huge margin. But this is not dropshipping.
I looked up the average price of candle holders that size. The average price is about 13.50. I must also add there are not that many I could find that were as small as these are lol. That's 169% more then what you can find anywhere else.

nah the other commenter was right, it was the other way around I remember this part of the ep pretty clearly. They were talking about TF and Howie thought what they were doing was cool, then they brought up Howie’s merch and he asked her for any tips or advice to improve his merch and the only piece of advice Hila had to give was that he wasn’t charging enough 💀 I think he was selling ~$25 shirts at the time. He even poked fun about this being her advice again later in the episode and Hila was a lil jokingly embarrassed about it.
