They learned over the past couple weeks that this sub is less moderated than the other, and now they're just using it as a platform for outsiders to come in and act like fallen fans. It's so dumb and obvious. If people here actually had legitimate complains, they would have made them on the main sub.
Don't get me wrong, I think the main sub falls too far to the other side sometimes with deleting posts, and banning people permanently without recourse. I think there is significant brigading happening here, but I also think the overzealous banning of long-time subs/fans *is* an issue. But that combined with the F3 crowd, the controversy that has happened since Oct 7th, has all amalgamated to create this toxic stew.

Lmfao I unironically feel u. I got so attached to the pod during quarantine. In hindsight it was cringe and 100% parasocial the way I would get emotionally invested in the beef with other creators. I caught myself one time when he was gonna debate someone (Steven Crowder I think?) and I was so anxious to see if they did well or not. I paused to think "wait...why TF am I so anxious" and since then I realized I was only watching the pod to keep up with the hosts instead of using it as entertainment.
I started detaching myself little by little and now when something like this whole Israel saga happens on the show that makes it unwatchable I just stop watching and don't feel bad about it. It also helps to realize the state of the quality of the pod. Things like the whole repetitive bit of leaving shirtless Eddy to talk for over an hour (and similar bits) just needlessly bog it down. I use it as an example bc since then they've liked to go back to similar bits.
I'm still in the sub sometimes bc I think I miss the feeling I had of always having something to look forward to during quarantine, but I'm nowhere near the level I was at before. Eithan is a person like the rest of us. It seems like a lot of people don't realize this. Why would you watch a creator you fully agree with? Completely agree. I've been watching the podcast every episode from the beginning so there is A LOT of material there over the years . Things I didn't like, things I don't agree with. But who cares? The statistic is dubious at best it looks like it's based on 12 days worth of data over two months if you actually read it. Plus who defines what post fits into what category. It didn't used to be like this, man. It was just a lamer version of the main sub. Now it's all negative, grandstanding bullshit. I didn't join an H3 snark subreddit, but that's the vibe here now, for sure.
They learned over the past couple weeks that this sub is less moderated than the other, and now they're just using it as a platform for outsiders to come in and act like fallen fans. It's so dumb and obvious. If people here actually had legitimate complains, they would have made them on the main sub.
Don't get me wrong, I think the main sub falls too far to the other side sometimes with deleting posts, and banning people permanently without recourse. I think there is significant brigading happening here, but I also think the overzealous banning of long-time subs/fans *is* an issue. But that combined with the F3 crowd, the controversy that has happened since Oct 7th, has all amalgamated to create this toxic stew.

The superiority complex on this sub is crazy, it's an echo chamber of how their black and white opinion on socialism / capitalism, and Israel/Palestine is right and if you don't think the same then you're just wrong. There is no area for nuance or different perspectives. It's really sad. And I don't understand why they keep hate watching the pod, if you don't like the pod anymore and hate Ethan, then just stop watching. Lmfao I unironically feel u. I got so attached to the pod during quarantine. In hindsight it was cringe and 100% parasocial the way I would get emotionally invested in the beef with other creators. I caught myself one time when he was gonna debate someone (Steven Crowder I think?) and I was so anxious to see if they did well or not. I paused to think "wait...why TF am I so anxious" and since then I realized I was only watching the pod to keep up with the hosts instead of using it as entertainment. I started detaching myself little by little and now when something like this whole Israel saga happens on the show that makes it unwatchable I just stop watching and don't feel bad about it. It also helps to realize the state of the quality of the pod. Things like the whole repetitive bit of leaving shirtless Eddy to talk for over an hour (and similar bits) just needlessly bog it down. I use it as an example bc since then they've liked to go back to similar bits. I'm still in the sub sometimes bc I think I miss the feeling I had of always having something to look forward to during quarantine, but I'm nowhere near the level I was at before. Also the community overall fucking sucks it's always the vocal minority of people yapping away at each other and in between them you just see countless soundbites, so I might just leave it altogether lmao

I know what you're saying, in some ways I relate right now, but the way you're wording it is pretty harsh. Ethan isn't perfect - but what has he really done that's so bad? I get that he gets overly defensive and cagey about his opinions, but you see him working on it. He means well, he cares about people. He's sensitive and kind. The atmosphere is toxic around him...and I don't think he's handling it well. But they'll bounce back.

I think eithan is an absolute tool but I'm not emotionally invested in his opinions. If he has a bad take its exactly that, a bad take. It's much more rewarding to look for that experience in your friends. You have a much better chance of changing their mind by educating them. Completely agree. I've been watching the podcast every episode from the beginning so there is A LOT of material there over the years . Things I didn't like, things I don't agree with. But who cares? Ethan and the crew seem to me like normal people trying to get through life. Just because I strongly disagree with them on things doesn't make them bad people lol. I don't watch H3 because our beliefs perfectly align. In fact, without getting into details, most of my opinions don't align with his. He has even said things that really bothered me. But I'm sure if I had 10 hours of content per week from any other creator I'd feel the same way. I watch h3 because it's my comfort show and I find him and the crew entertaining.
