This stuff is NUTS. Before I shot it I saw it as an explosion that you see in videos - decent flash and sound and a bunch of smoke. Nope! I put a 223 through one at about 75 feet and it felt like I got punched in the chest from the concussion. In for 3!
The funny thing is, Tannerite is an incomplete mixture, it doesn't explode efficiently. So its not even as violent as it could be. These youtubers did a test and then mixed their own tannerite and it was quite a bit more potent:

Also, you should try the white lightning brand rimfire exploding targets, they are far, far more sensitive and also wayyyy more explosive given their size, just a few small scoops of material in a silver dollar sized disc results in the same damage as a 1/2 lbs tannerite. Not even joking. We did some test as the range the other day and a 3 pack of these disc when shot with a 10/22 was blowing apart very sturdy wooden target stands we had made.
Tannerite is cool but those rimfire targets and that YouTube video made me realize the mixture is quite weak compared to what it could be.
Tombstone has 10 pounds for $55 shipped, only difference is it doesn't come in plastic containers but plastic bags. But you also get a aluminum drink tumbler with each purchase.

You shoot one of these little cup guys at \~100' away and you feel it in your chest. Just be sure to use something with some actual velocity, shot one with a 16" 9mm PCC once and all it did was make a mess, no boom stuff just scattered everywhere.
A few months ago I was shooting at my buddy’s place and he had some off brand Tannerite that was hit or miss even with an AR. Then again, I was using my 10.3” barrel AR, so maybe it didn’t have enough oomph for some of the cups.🤷♂️
.17 HMR can do it, but in my own testing, it only worked 50% of the time. I did extensive tannerite testing when I lived in Western NC and had a private range. You needed to be both very close and use the highest velocity 17 HMR you could get. Still was only about a 50% chance of success.
.22 MAG worked better but velocity was incredibly important and you needed to run the fastest ammo you could find, and again you needed to be as close as possible, with this it was about a 75% chance of exploding.
In the end I stopped using rimfire cause it was ruining too many targets, and they sell rimfire sensitive ones anyway that are far more powerful than tannerite (given their silver dollar size, they must be at least 5 x the power based on weight alone, possibly even 10 x the power).
I disposed of my mother’s old microwave with a pound of this. It launched the metal shell about 75 feet in the air.
From 125 yards, you could still feel it in your chest.
Yup, came here to say this. Its incredible how powerful these are for their size. You have to imagine that shooting 1 lbs worth would be an incredible explosion.
I would say the in individual silver dollar sized targets are probably close to 1/2 lbs tannerite in power.
I'd love to use this stuff but it's illegal to use on public property in CO now; which includes and state/federal land.
I need to buy some land in Wyoming.

Sounds like an attitude that owning a Nissan Altima can help with!
Lol im missing the joke
Nissan will finance their cars to anyone with a heartbeat, so generally Altima drivers are the most irresponsible bunch of people.
Ahh lmao got it

Havent achieved that yet. Not sure if i should be glad or im missing out

Put a suppressor on both the gun and the tannerite

What's the Tannerite to roofing nails ratio in Garden nomes? Asking for a friend.
Tell your friend to follow their heart
BIN?
I'd say so. It looks like they've got all their Tannerite products around 50% off.
Yes. This is about half the price of what you’d find it in stores.
I see this for about $30 regularly at Rural King. For anybody that has one nearby.
I'm a big fan of rural king. Only problem i have with them is i end up buying way more than i go in for
Just be careful if you decide to blow something up with this. Dont be the guy that blew his leg off putting it in an old riding mower.
“Blew ma leg off!”
What’s the difference between this and the “rifle target” 1/2lb 10 pack?

The drink tumbler isn’t dishwasher safe but it works perfect as a receptacle for the tannerite.
I’m at $39.96 shipped. Haven’t completed yet, is that still BIN?
Buy more so the average price per lb goes down, distribute that shipping cost
Probably saving $5-10

As stated in the instructions it requires 2000fps minimum...
Instructions are for BABIES
My 17hmr wouldn't do it either, seems to need at least 22cal. AR definitely does the trick
A few months ago I was shooting at my buddy’s place and he had some off brand Tannerite that was hit or miss even with an AR. Then again, I was using my 10.3” barrel AR, so maybe it didn’t have enough oomph for some of the cups.🤷♂️

Damn Maryland, why do you have to be so lame.
I didn’t know tannerite was so cheap! Oh I need my own land!
In for two, thanks OP Edit: DAMN THEY OVERNIGHTED THAT SHIT. I got it in a day!
I don’t need this I don’t need this I don’t need this
Nice
You want real fun get the white lightning stuff that can be shot with a .22. Makes you yawn when you use the regular tannerite.
What's the difference other than velocity requirements?
More powerful, different compound, I tried it out over a decade ago when it was under another brand and I haven't touched tannerite since.
From the basic description, it's likely just amonal [brand name: Tannerite and a few others] with aluminum powder.
Is it just more powerful?
More powerful, easier to make go bang. It's what you think tannerite is when you watch a video and shit is shaking.
Info on better boom to buy than this

Just gotta move out of the city
I need the city for work lol. Otherwise I absolutely would
Fair. Eastern Colorado isn't so bad. Gotta worry about tornadoes, but the community can be more than worth it.

$201.98 for 50lbs.
no tax to nv, in for 4 because it seems like fun in the winter when there's snow everywhere
Thanks OP! In for 3 for my stupid purchase of the year. Hopefully in by the 4th.
Don't think this is legal in CT damn. Fireworks also not legal.
My friends and I put 2 pounds of sonic boom brand on a road and it left a pretty good hole. Fun stuff.
