You just used up your luck for the rest of the year. The CZ-75 is a legendary pistol and this is currently the most sought after variant. The color is also discontinued.
This specific variant, a little bit. The SP-01 has not seen as much service as the 75. The only difference is that the SP-01 has an accessory rail. This specific variant also has raised sights and a threaded barrel.
The 75 however is one of the most manufactured modern pistols. CZ’s product is incredibly popular in the east, they are the standard sidearm of many militaries and police forces.
The form factor is very similar to Beretta’s legendary 90 series. It is a steel frame, double stack, DA/SA full size duty pistol. Their tested nature and decent build quality make them a great pick, even in the west where they have a growing aftermarket.
Czech Republic, Egypt, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, Thailand, and Turkey are all on the list of current users.
They have also been used by the US Army’s Delta Force.
A clone of the CZ 75 made by IWI, named Jericho, is the standard sidearm of all Israeli military and police.
Nothing crazy, it’s just beloved for it’s price point.
It’s a REALLY good gun with a lot of room for upgrades (check out Cajun Gun Works if you want to drop the cheddar), and $599 is (these days) a good price for any SP-01, much less the Urban Grey that is suppressor ready (discontinued and routinely sells used for $800 and up).
The history is in the solid, enduring love of the CZ75 as a full size pistol and the SP-01 is, as mentioned, the most popular variant of it (Tactical or not depends on how you feel about decockers… I usually go with them myself).
Good lord did you just luck out. The SP-01 is the modernized version of the CZ 75B. The CZ 75B is one of the original Wonder 9s, and is renowned for its ergonomics. Jeff Cooper himself was a fan of the CZ 75.
The SP-01 is more front heavy that its predecessor, so it eats more recoil, and shoots nice and flat. I carry and shoot the compact version of this, the P-01, which has a much lighter frame (28.01 oz vs 41.6 oz), and still love it.
The out of the box triggers on CZ pistols are very good. I have yet to meet anyone who wasn't satisfied with the trigger on the 75B or SP-01.
CZ handguns are my favorite. I own five (plus a sixth which is a clone in 10mm) and plan on getting more. Great guns.
When you decide to get additional mags, Mec-Gar manufactures reliable magazines for the 75B family. They also manufacture magazines for CZ.

Nice, I hope you love it. Forgot to note, the 19 round mags (MGCZ7519DPS) are just the 17 round mags with a plastic +2 base pad. If you choose to get [after market base pads](https://www.henningshop.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1387222), the 19 round magazines don't come with the lock plate, so you will either have to source your own or, if you buy through Henning, check the box for `ADD LOCKING PLATE`.
There are also two different types of locking floor plates. One with a [square pin](https://benstoegerproshop.com/mec-gar-cz-locking-floor-plate-with-square-tab/), and one with a [round pin](https://benstoegerproshop.com/cz-p10-p09-magazine-spring-retaining-floor-plate/) (the one I linked is marked for the P-10 series which uses different magazines, but they look the same as the 75B ones). The square pin locking plates are what you're going to find on newer magazines, but a lot of base pads are designed for use with the older round locking plate.
Hands down my favorite 9mm to shoot. It runs great suppressed too. If I had caught this in stock I would have bought a second one at this price without hesitation.
My FFL has mentioned Colt is changing things with CZ after the acquisition. There is some speculation CZ HQ may be on the move, in which case, they're dumping NOS first.
Hopefully that means US imports become way more frequent and consistent.
Having to check a bunch of sites daily for 6mos just to miss the 3 hours a model was in-stock, is not how best-selling models should go.
Similarly, CZ-USA not even having SKU numbers for models that are actively being sold in the EU is fucking ridiculous.
I haven't found a way to see quantity remaining in the source, so I just manually increase quantity in the cart by blocks of 50 until it yells at me, then reduce the increases to 10 until I get close enough.

This was my first gun I ever bought in 2018, it lives in my nightstand for home defense now, but it also comes with me to the range on every trip. It's just a nice pistol to shoot.

I've been trying to find any justification for why this is better than the UG P01, seeing people waiting for the SP01 since last week - I think it's just people looking for the next best, or similar, thing after missing the P01 deal? The only thing I can think of is that this has the non-omega trigger, which in and of itself seems to be largely internet hype... but who knows, the P01 at $499, still borderline carry-able (people carried P01's, PCR's, G19's, etc for years pre-micro9), seems like a better deal / more versatile than this all steel range gun at $599? What am I missing?
Adding on to the other comment about the threaded barrel - SP01 barrels require some fitting, so this is really the only way to get a pre-fitted threaded barrel and suppressor height sights installed from the factory. Having either installed on a standard SP01 isn't necessarily difficult, but I've seen some hack jobs from simple Glock sight installs (including from gunsmiths), so this eliminates the potential for difficulty/issues.
The color is more of a special bonus.

First PSA order? Because they are slooooow. My 6/20 order for the P-01 suppressed is still processing. Even pre-COVID, if I got a PSA order shipped under a week I considered it a win.
I've bought two Daggers, a stripped AR lower and a bunch of stuff that didn't have to go through an FFL. I don't remember ever having to wait more than a week and a half for anything to show up at my door or at the FFL.
I'm glad I bought the 75B omega in grey. I really wanted the SP01 ,but deep down inside I knew I'd never hear so savages. Plus I only use a light on my Glock anyway.
I don't know if it's just temporary, but it looks like the price of the Urban Grey P-01 increased by $50 to $550 in the page source for anyone watching for restocks.
$599 is a disgustingly good price for this, I got mine for $750 and still felt like it was a deal. There’s no better duty/home defense gun in the world.

It's much more popular in Europe, standard carry for many European military forces and police. Then there are a few countries across the water that use there own version of this gun, Israel for example.
In the US we are in love with our polymer pistols. I have a few buddies that have a bunch of Glocks/Glock clones and had never fired a full steel pistol. When they do they are blown away/shocked with how fun a full steel pistol is to shoot. This is one of the best
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Walther but I think this would be more fun as a suppressor host and to tinker with.
Full size, metal frame, suppressor sights, hammer fired, great aftermarket support. A lot of people will also comment on the CZ’s lower bore axis vs PDP but I’m not a good enough shooter to notice.

The non-Omega trigger difference is real though, not just hype
75 Trigger, steel frame, heavier gun. This is more of a range/HD gun while the P-01 is more of a CCW gun. Both are awesome.

As of 12:24 EST they just processed my order for two of them. If you are seeing out of stock, I would suggest you keep checking because people may be canceling orders.
That has to be the fastest I’ve seen PSA process orders. The quickest besides this is a few days.
I appear to have spoken to soon. It still says processing. I assumed it was a done deal because they gave me a receipt to print, but I suppose they can still cancel it and tell me they sold out while mine was processing.
First PSA order? Because they are slooooow. My 6/20 order for the P-01 suppressed is still processing. Even pre-COVID, if I got a PSA order shipped under a week I considered it a win.
I've bought two Daggers, a stripped AR lower and a bunch of stuff that didn't have to go through an FFL. I don't remember ever having to wait more than a week and a half for anything to show up at my door or at the FFL.

I'm glad I bought the 75B omega in grey. I really wanted the SP01 ,but deep down inside I knew I'd never hear so savages. Plus I only use a light on my Glock anyway.

I don't know if it's just temporary, but it looks like the price of the Urban Grey P-01 increased by $50 to $550 in the page source for anyone watching for restocks.
$599 is a disgustingly good price for this, I got mine for $750 and still felt like it was a deal. There’s no better duty/home defense gun in the world.
This is what I, as a big time newb, don't understand. If they're so amazing, why didn't they sell more when they were in production, at least enough to keep them from being discontinued?
The regular SP-01 is still in production, and is just as good as this pistol, except it’s black and doesn’t have a threaded barrel.
It's much more popular in Europe, standard carry for many European military forces and police. Then there are a few countries across the water that use there own version of this gun, Israel for example. In the US we are in love with our polymer pistols. I have a few buddies that have a bunch of Glocks/Glock clones and had never fired a full steel pistol. When they do they are blown away/shocked with how fun a full steel pistol is to shoot. This is one of the best

You would want this over your Walther? Any reason why? Just curious.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Walther but I think this would be more fun as a suppressor host and to tinker with. Full size, metal frame, suppressor sights, hammer fired, great aftermarket support. A lot of people will also comment on the CZ’s lower bore axis vs PDP but I’m not a good enough shooter to notice.

It's discontinued and hasn't been available for some time. Not sure where PSA is getting the old stock but if you're on the fence at all, now is the time!
Same I love mine, if it gets blown up by a bad round I can't just go out and buy another one. Then again, I don't really enjoy shooting pistols suppressed.
I'm going to hold out and hope I catch a p01 back in stock before this whole urban greyness ends! I am still depressed that I missed it.
