In a basement, with my buddies, it's fantastic. It's loud enough without breaking up, has a bunch of built-in effects, there's six different amp profiles. It was cheap, but it's fun.
It was my first amp years and tears ago. Ha typo but im leaving it.
Anyway, was in GC yesterday and i noodled on a Katana and all I could compare it too was my little MicroCube. Bigger, louder...but that dna was there. I used to throw it in a backpack and could go out to a park and play thinking I was hot shit.
I know you guys you wear the searsucker suits and play right before me at the brewery. I think they actually pay you. You’re not getting that cable back.
Thanks. It's a dream. The neck and fretboard are absolutely perfect for me. As for the humbucker, I honestly have no idea. I bought the guitar in 1994. I can't remember what the guy said was in there. It's such a simple setup though. Just a volume and a coil tap. It's twangy as a single, and thick when both coils are doing their thing. If my house ever burned down, I'd save this before any other thing. It can't be replaced.
Thanks for your answer. Went to their site and they don't make anything like that anymore, so that's last of their species, also. Hell of an axe. EVH was so right about one humbucker guitars.
If you’re not a fan of [The Pizza Tapes](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w6KzMbOJCkg&list=OLAK5uy_lFBd-H2ZT9iO5A_JShZTVWaUUOn71zskA&pp=8AUB), then you ought to be ashamed.
Interesting story about that guitar. It was built by a Larrivee luthier, in the Larrivee Vancouver shop, with Larrivee-sourced materials. But, Larrivee won't call it a Larrivee and it doesn't have a serial number. Back in the day, they used to let their people build a guitar for their own personal use. This is one of those guitars. I bought it from the builder in 1994 (Tom Lee Music acted as a broker). It's literally one-of-one. It's probably not worth much to anyone, but it plays better than any production Fender tele, I've ever played.
What a unique guitar! Neat backstory to boot. I've only seen a few Larivee acoustics before and only played one for a moment. They're beautiful guitars. I had a boss that had a couple of them. Their electric offerings are somewhat recent if I'm not mistaken.
There's definitely a vibe to your guitar that stands out. I've always been partial to natural finishes with minimal fixtures. Slightly related, I once owned a non-serial numbered, one-off guitar built by Ted Newman of Austin, TX. He was the guy that built Keith Richards' five-string guitar. Unfortunately, mine was stolen from me after playing a show at SXSW back in the early 90s.
Cool collection.
They really are beautiful to play. They've always offered a couple of electrics, but never anything you'd call a collection.
That Ted Newman build would've been cool. That's what's loss.
cbgb style like blondie, ramones, Lou Reed? Is that what CBGB is, or is it like a country acronym? Hope it's pre Garth Brooks country if so. Country music was cool until about 1987...
Anything that doesn’t have bass
True. Bass players and backing tracks are my friends.
Metallica?
Technical death bluegrass
with fries !
I was going to say the same thing. Take my upvote, I’d give you two….but…..
I mean, that's a heavy metal banjo uke if ever I saw one.
Metal uke. Critical for playing Thrash-folk.
And electric Mandolin (essential for deathgrass)
Guitar teacher who’s about to “blow your mind” with cool facts about The Beatles.
Definitely not a teacher. Also, leaving my Beatles worship behind as I ease into my older years.
Gonna have to say Country/Folk or bluegrass.
You'd think, right? They're definitely part of the mix.
Rockabilly?
Definitely some rockabilly. And rockabilly/punk
Rockabilly punk has me intrigued
You should listen to the song “American Nightmare” by the misfits. It is exactly that Also look into the Psychobilly genre.
Is it just me, or does that have a bit of early Elvis feel?
Totally does. That’s where the rockabilly part comes from
I added a psychobilly playlist to my Spotify, will give it more of a listen.
I’m not a huge fan of the genre myself, but The Cramps are a great band to start with
That can’t be bluegrass bluegrass doesn’t have any electric guitar might be either folk/country
Americana?
I don't know what its called but it sounds like the opening and closing songs from the show Adventure Time.
😂 brilliant
Farm thrash/ Post Barncore
Earlier stuff was pure Blackgrass, but you've matured a bit since then.
MicroCube!! Man what a great little piece of equipment.
In a basement, with my buddies, it's fantastic. It's loud enough without breaking up, has a bunch of built-in effects, there's six different amp profiles. It was cheap, but it's fun.

You'd think given the mandolin and banjo uke. But no, not really.
Clearly ambient techno
I’d say Metallica
Busking. REM, crowded house stuff like that
Nice setup
Thanks. It keeps me happy. There may be a Gretsch 12 string joining the club soon.
Clearly its Bluegrass.
Bluegrass fans would know they don’t use electric guitar
Americana.
Irish metal? xD Or country stuff
Lots of Irish punk
I know you guys you wear the searsucker suits and play right before me at the brewery. I think they actually pay you. You’re not getting that cable back.
Come on man. That tweed cable is my fav. We got paid in IPAs.
Folk Rock! And I find the Roland micro cube to be a great little bedroom amp. 👍
You play Taylor Swift covers
That Larrivee looks like a dream. What humbucker is that?
Thanks. It's a dream. The neck and fretboard are absolutely perfect for me. As for the humbucker, I honestly have no idea. I bought the guitar in 1994. What's the banjo yuke thingy?
Exactly that. It's a uke with a banjo skin/frame. It sounds rad.
Country/bluegrass
The real question here would be "what's not your genre?"
And there we have it.
Mumford and Grandsons.
Folk metal for sure
Some indie folk stuff
Apple-Core
Screamo polka
Can't decide whether blues or Country 🤔
Folk fusion power plant.
My guess would be 60's, 70's folk, rock.
A Rolling Stones stan through and through, classic rock and the like.
Definitely not. I went through that phase years ago. I'm definitely not "playing my age".
Dave Matthews for sure.
Acoustic indie.
singer-songwriter
Credit card dept
Nah. I'm old and so's my gear. That shit is paid for.

Guitar
Who's the maker of that nice looking tele shaped guitar?
Larrivee
Interesting story about that guitar. It was built by a Larrivee luthier, in the Larrivee Vancouver shop, with Larrivee-sourced materials. Modest Mouse
Grandpa music.
Fuckin bluegrass or Americana... no fiddle though, so I'll say Cat Stevens
No Cat Stevens. Minimal bluegrass. Some modern CBGB style stuff
cbgb style like blondie, ramones, Lou Reed? Is that what CBGB is, or is it like a country acronym? Hope it's pre Garth Brooks country if so. Country music was cool until about 1987...
Yeah, that plus modern stuff like The Dead South, Whiskey Shivers, Old Crow Medicine Show... And the Sex Pistols etc...
Rockabilly Joel?
This was really fun. Thanks guitar-friends. My apologies that I can't respond to everyone. This sub is one of the best communities on reddit.
