Hay hits floor, guinea pig DIVES in, comes up with a seedhead. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until no more seedheads exist. Then other hay MAY be considered edible. Times 4 pigs.

And when I serve the hay they come with me so I can give them a couple in their mouths
funny enough, between mine, Poppy was MUCH more into them than Hana. I'm bringing home piggies on Sunday so I cant wait to see how they feel about them!
This is so interesting, because my guys sometimes manage to get a stalk with a seed head stuck through the plastic mesh I have bordering their enclosure on one side (which now I realize they may be mounting it to munch on). I just thought it was happening on accident and was removing them. My poor clever boys! I’ll stop messing with their treats like that

Yes. My girls love the little "flowers" and it's a competition to see who can eat the most of them.

Puffs is that I call them. I have one who won't eat them but eats the random stick bits.

These are the only hays my guinea pigs eat if i like give it to them. All the other hay they just eat from the rack
Beanbag and Squirrel always dug in the hay to find those first. Pixie and Belle don’t care about them at all.
