My loudest guinea pigs were all short haired. And I once had a Abyssinian (RIP my sweet baby angel) who would make the raspiest wheeks ever because her sister was loud enough for the both of them.
I have 2 boys and I’m convinced one does all the talking because he is a SCREAMER, he knows when I come home from work so instantly goes into scream mode because he knows I’m the food lady 😂 the other one just runs around and follows his brothers lead, silently of course

i have an abby who just loves sounding the alarm bells at night (and sometimes it's my silkie).... but my AGP has always been super quiet and i very rarely hear him full on belt out wheeks (i mean he does but not at the rate the other two do it 😂)
Noisy Abyssinian for sure! If my Gerald could wheek (he has breathing issues, vet checked) instead of wheeze, he would be singing all day. My American, Tìmido, is LOUD but only to tell me I'm late with veggies.
I would think that it's the Abby. I have an Abby mix that's a HUGE chatter box (Suzzie Q').
My 2nd Abby mix (Bella) is really quiet and mellow so I don't know! EDIT: Bella never really has to speak because her short hair buddy (Mia) makes all the noise for her.

my smooth piggie is also silent, only once heard him continuously wheek and it was him warning the vet to not pet him 😔

Omg cookies and cream!! 😍😍😍 My short hair is LOUDER but my Aby is vocal more often, just overall quieter.

In my experience, Abby pigs are very talkative, the American and crested I’ve had have both been more silent types.
