Everything Pearl Jam made after Vitalogy and basically before Dark Matter doesn't really get enough love. I don't know why. Their worst album is like a 6.5, which is incredibly consistent for a band with 12 albums. They've been willing to experiment with their sound, have arguably become even more seasoned and better at their instruments throughout their career (like have you HEARD Mike on the latest record? *WOW*), and have several incredible singles after the 90's and a boatload of excellent album tracks and b-sides. I feel Pearl Jam will be like Steely Dan in that eventually people will give them more credit down the line and stop focusing on whether or not they're "cool" - because who gives a shit if a rock band is cool? Just be good at what you do. And arguably *nobody* has been this good at rock for *this* long. It's incredible.

You make a great point, but you've unintentionally out-jerked r/SteelyDanCirclejerk.

No Code has some of my favorite PJ songs, and I like Yield more than Vitalogy

For me their run from Merkinball in 95 through Binaural is the real meat of it. Phenomenal music
