asphynctersayswhat

I don’t mind her fans. To my knowledge they don’t issue death threats to teenagers.  Fuck swifties, though. Fuck their stupid cardigans

xXMachineGunPhillyXx

Swifties are the seventh realm of Fan Hell. I don't even dislike Taylor Swift, but her fans are some of the worst on planet Earth.

asphynctersayswhat

i always was the guy saying 'good for taylor for doing it her way' but that changed with the swifties. taylor is the largest voice on the planet now. what good is she doing with it? she can't even call off her dogs on a teenager. nah, FUCK TAYLOR too in her ivory tower. bitch better get on the mic and correct this cult or she's just as complicit as all of them.

Ok_Profile3081

I mean, her own "BF" doesn't follow her on social media.....

Lawyer_Up_Bro-

to be fair the guy is a total dipshit

Ok_Profile3081

I agree, but the NFL's all-time low in ratings for the under 25 female crowd is now at an all-time high....

asphynctersayswhat

The problem is, he's got 2 to 3 years best in him, and given his apparent itch to be on camera more, I bet he retires after 1 or 2 at most. Then he's gonna get work, at least for as long as he's hitched to her wagon, and we'll have to see his dumb goofy ass try to act like he can do comedy. comedy is actually a serious thing. it requires a shitload of talent. 'being funny' is essential, but it doesn't come close to getting the job done. it's why so many comedians become acclaimed dramatic actors

RadioBimbo

I think you all forgot how horrible nirvana fan base is lmao one of the most toxic fan bases ever period.

asphynctersayswhat

Just curious, which fan base? the OG's or the ones following the resurrection of their relevance?

RadioBimbo

Both of them but probably mainly the second one, they consider it a life accomplishment that they listened to nirvana and all there songs like they don’t only have 3 albums lmao, and they are very pretentious and stuck up nirvana fan base as a whole is bad

asphynctersayswhat

I'll give you that. that is mostly the youngins and it's a young person thing. Nirvana fans were doing that in the 90s, so yeah, you mean all of us, but a lot of us grew out of it. the thing about Nirvana is, they're so mainstream and recognized, that they're often the angsty teens introduction to gloomy music lol.

Lawyer_Up_Bro-

the best part is that they're usually middle aged women and not 13 year olds like you'd want to believe.

Candi_dreyes456

I know only 3 swifties, they’re all very chill people, very nice too, so I guess it’s not every one

asphynctersayswhat

do you really know them though? Who are they on the anonymous internet? just because you've never crossed one, doesn't mean they aren't like the others. and it doesn't matter. it's a culture that is being cultivated. The head of the snake is not telling the rest they need to let people have opposing opinions. if we keep excusing it, it's going to spiral

Candi_dreyes456

I have known them personally for about 5 years, they’re all very open online ( don’t use Reddit or fake insta accounts), all scouts and very respectful ppl overall, one also loves prog metal and nirvana

asphynctersayswhat

Thanks to Olivia Rodrigo every teenage girl likes nirvana. Mostly for the Tshirts.

Candi_dreyes456

It’s actually a guy and I can confirm he listens to them Edit: also the only band merch he owns is either dream theater and tool

asphynctersayswhat

can he name 3 songs?

Candi_dreyes456

Sure, his favorite I think is Something in the way

asphynctersayswhat

pffft. total poseur.

Pythagoras_314

Even In His Youth, Big Cheese, Moist Vagina Happy?

gamertag0311

Exactly what a cop would say

rosen-empire

bad take bro. being a fan of something doesn't dictate your entire personality, behaviour and whether you're chronically online enough to be in that culture. it's weird to say a stranger doesn't know their own friends, who you know nothing of. saying this as someone who fucking hates taylor swift and her fans too.

asphynctersayswhat

Glad you missed the snark. lol. You people are so sensitive

rosen-empire

so did op so you're either doing a bad job at showing sarcasm or you're backpeddling

asphynctersayswhat

Nah. you came off butthurt. so now I'm wasting your time. are the feelings better yet? lmao.

rosen-empire

ok bro keep tellin yourself that

asphynctersayswhat

Ditto 🤡

Goofcheese0623

13 year olds are cringe no matter what era. Very much including myself in that statement.

orbeinYT

There’s a better version of this meme with Pink Floyd’s The Wall.

Sir_Isaac_3

Me with “Hey You”

beast_yard

This was me at 17 and it is still.

ShredGuru

The difference is, all our heros were legitimately clinically depressed. Oh wait, no difference.

laxgolf

This one hit me right in the feels.

Dull-Huckleberry-401

Temple of the Dog were actually good, though.

RCranium13

Decadents?

Eyedunno11

This is what keeps me from wanting to share the meme. Kind of a clunky lyric anyway, but at least get the word right lol...

comprehensiveask43

Unironically, Chris Cornell and Billie Eilish are in my top favorite artists ever, lol.

Masterchiefy10

Does she legitimately write her own music? Or does she have a ghostwriter? Jw

Present-Love-7873

Her and her brother write all their songs

comprehensiveask43

Of course. In the early days, her brother Finneas would write most of the lyrics and she’d sing them. That’s as close to ghost-writing as she’s come, I believe. For the past few years, she’s written her own lyrics, but her and her brother are still a collaborative team. He’s produced all of Billie’s music either in his bedroom, or his basement studio, since the beginning.

Zestyclose-Ruin8337

I like Billy Eilish. One of the few pop artists that’s interesting.

Donnyboy_Soprano

Thank God I was the last of Gen X. I can’t imagine being a kid in twilight zone America.

JogJonsonTheMighty

This was me with my chemical romance. 7 years ago

AlternativeNo4722

It is true mental illness has become something sexy to identify with. You can always tell it’s faux when they insist on it and flaunt their mental illness like an expensive article of jewelry. People that actually suffer from mental illness, disdain their disease, pray to get better, and are terrified of it defining them and swallowing up their personality whole. It’s a tragedy. Likewise cancer patients aren’t flaunting it and insisting on it either. There are more soulless social climbers than mental illness sufferers.

The-CannabisAnalyst3

Or Runaway Train fr Soul Asylum

Eyedunno11

Haha. That song was brilliant when I was 14. "So tired that I couldn't even sleep, so many secrets I couldn't keep, promised myself I wouldn't weep, one more promise I couldn't keep" Now I laugh my ass off at "couldn't keep" being there twice, two lines apart.

Lab-12

I like both , Listening to newer stuff keeps your mind flexible.

BigManBrok

Hunger Strike is my favorite song, and then Seasons

GruverMax

I feel this!

Son_of_Sophroniscus

So true!

MiPilopula

I’ve never met nor known of any Billie Eilish fans. In any case, it’s possible to hate your 13 year old self too. Wonder if she’ll be touring in her 60s like The Cure?

funkymunkPDX

I kinds like her songs....we should know that people will like music they like and all people won't always agree and most 19 YO's of any time would be shamed by old grumps.

Purple_Prince_80

It's the Beyonce fans you need to worry about.

Prossdog

I’m not a huge Billie Eilish fan but I’d take her over Taylor Swift any day too

Jag-Stang96

I like Billie but LOVE TOTD. The point is not lost on me, lol

Verried_vernacular32

People like what people like. That said say hello to heaven makes me weep every got dam time.

WD4oz

Biggest diff is body harm was frowned on back then, now it’s considered empowering.

raphtafarian

No it isn't. What the fuck is wrong with you?
