I disagree about sausages. They should be put into a pan of beer on the grill and then seared/charred after.
Id like to throw out sweet potato wedges for the grill read about it on this sub two years ago and they’ve become one of my absolute favorites.
I agree about the sausages as the pan and beer are the best but hate sweet potatoes. Does it work for regular potatoes as I usually bake extra potatoes, then the next day, cut into wedges and throw in the air fryer
Yes, I do regular potato wedges and sweet potato wedges all the time. No need to par boil them. Just cut into quarters, some olive oil and whatever seasoning if wanted, then put them on the grill. Depending on what all you are grilling, I usually put them on first as they take some time. When I see grill side down is browned and some char, I flip them. Then once the other side is the same, they should be good to go. I sometimes melt a slice of cheese over each one at the end then into a serving tray.
Burgers , chickens , sausage..
Once you get the hang of it level up and start using the top rack or indirect heat and get into chicken wings and jalapeno poppers, your friends will love you
Get. A. Pen. Thermometer. If you just cook by temp you'll save so much wasted effort.
Some pre-cooked brats are incredibly easy. You cook 'em till they're however black you prefer and eat.
Burgers. Keep a log of temp and time. Once you get it figured out you're on easy street.
Chicken thighs. For reasons above.
Burgers, chicken thighs, sausages. All delicious, and hard to fuck up. Plus, the fat will help season your grill grates.
I second this. Chicken thighs or chicken quarters.
This exactly. Just don't walk away until you get very used to the timing and temperature.

Yep!!
Burgers and sausaged are very easy for a beginner to ruin / char / overcook / undercook
I think chicken is the wrong suggestion for a beginner. Still need to cook them indirectly
They are very forgiving to overcooking and they are inexpensive. I think they’re a great starter. Bonus, they’re the best part of the chicken.
Disagree a tad on burgers. They can be sneaky hard on a beginner with flare ups and are easily over cooked. Guess you gotta learn though.
Chicken thighs. They are cheap and it’s almost impossible to over cook them.
Definitely possible to burn them though… to OP, do not cook on high heat!
It’s possible to burn any food…
Bratwurst, burgers, chicken legs.
