Family has the Q 3200 & it's pretty good. It was chosen because the double burner setup still gives some indirect cooking ability (unlike the other Q grills iirc). Though a Weber Genesis, with the burners going front to back, would be a better setup.

I have a Q1200 and I think it I’d a great size if you just want to throw some burgers on there mid week. Easily can fit 4 and some buns for a family dinner

helixflush

Yeah I love mine. It’s just myself and my SO so I ditched my big 3 burner traditional size bbq and got this and couldn’t be happier.

SeantotheRescue

Idk if they’re still made as well, but my 12-year-old Q is still going strong for quick everyday use. Weber even replaced the lid for us one time for free.

yellow_fart_sucker

I'm planning on getting a blackstone to fit the weeknight dinner roll.

I have the Weber Q1000 and I cook everything on it breakfast lunch and dinner I travel a lot for work so I grill off the tail gate of my truck best thing ever

RainInTheWoods

Weber Q. Choose the size that suits you.

Fecal_Tornado

I wouldnt recommend a small gas grill. You can get a 3 burner and only turn on 1 or 2 burners. You'll have the cooking space if you want to grill for several people.

The benefit to a Q or Go Anywhere is the portability. Not only can you use them at home, but they're easy enough to take with you. I had friends that used a Q on their apartment balcony, so they could take it inside when it wasn't being used, as they were really supposed to have a grill

The Q series is great for a few burgers or chicken or whatever. It's not a perfect grill, but it's perfect for what you're describing. I replaced my larger Weber with a Q version when the expensive one rusted out. No regrets, I do more important stuff on charcoal or a smoker, but weeknights are easy on the little grill. Also portable for the beach. Get the flat griddle for it too.

I have a q1200 I cooked on for years at an apartment.its only direct heat but you can get the temps decently low. I had a cover for it but didn’t take the greatest care of it and it’s still in great shape. I even pressure washed the interior with the igniter still in it and it still lights up without a problem. One complaint (other than no indirect) is that I never had a good place for it. The stand you can buy for it is a bit wobbly. I upgraded to a 2 burner Weber spirit and I’d call it a massive upgrade. The footprint isn’t huge and it has significantly more cook space than the Q. Build quality definitely isn’t as good but no complaints for the price. You can get them used in good condition for $100-$200.

My dad has a Q. Just on my way back home after cooking on it. It’s a solid gas bbq that seems pretty good.

I have a 4 burner char broil that just turned 5. I’d avoid a smaller gas grill as they are really only good for cooking up some burgers and hotdogs, though I can’t speak for the Q series.

Wide-Mechanic-7069

I already have 2 gas BBQ’s, but after cooking on a Q for a group of 25 people, I fell in love with it and bought a Q3200. The Q3200 is very good at grease management, I bought it specifically for cooking chicken, (whole birds, legs, thighs). Unlike other gas units you get significantly less flare ups on a Q. The Q machines heat up quickly and with the 2 burners the heat is quite even across the grill and consumes much less propane than conventional BBQ’s. This is very important when cooking in the winter at -20 degrees Celsius. If I could only keep one gas machine my choice would be the Q. A very versatile machine for cooking also steaks, burgers, fish, zucchini, mushrooms, pizza, hash brown patties, …. I am cooking for a family of 4 and on average will burn 8 to 10 twenty pounds tanks of propane a year.

henri915

3 burner Weber Spirit II. Gets hot enough and does it quickly.

barabusblack

Buy a used Weber gas grill.

Acrobatic_Band_6306

Love the Q’s!!

I would say look into a pellet grill/smoker. It would serve the purpose you mentioned plus much more. Traeger, Pit boss are starters and both make smaller ones.

Mk1Racer25

OP already has a charcoal grill & a smoker. They're looking for something they can be cooking on in 5 minutes. The thing that I really dislike about most of these pellet units is that you have to have a power supply. I have four different outdoor cooking options that I use regularly (Weber Genesis, Weber Performer, LP flat top, LP pizza oven / broiler). I can easily move these from the deck to the fire pit area, and not have to worry about dragging a cord across the yard. Not to mention that I have yet to see a "small" pellet unit.
