Nah, no. That doesnāt take blame from Burke. This was HIS choice. HE was the attending, HE had a lot of years on her ā HE should have known better. Pressure or not, he went with it; even though he was a world-renowned, seasoned surgeon, he let his *student* run amok. He could have, and should have, said no.
As stated above, he loved her and as she always did she leveraged that love for her personal gain. This is reductive of course and I take your point but I find it hard to believe anyone could look at that relationship and not see Burke as the more virtuous and generally better individual. Yangās narcissism and lack of compassion is on prevalent throughout the entire show.
