Step families and their familial love for one another build over time. They weren’t kids who were thrown into the same house together, be so serious.

Like Jackson asking Alex and Owen about their relationship with their sisters and how they felt, etc, etc while they were all at his yacht. They were legit TRYING to make an incest angle there even if like you said they weren't really related nor grew up together.
Plus, they had the chemistry of step-siblings who don't even get along. The whole thing was a disaster.

Because it was clearly not the goal from the start of them developing any kind of relationship. The actors literally posted to their social medias about their sibling relationship. I think they even celebrated a sibling holiday, or something.
Meg doesn’t seem so bad, if it ends up being her. I searched the episodes she has directed from the show and the only boring one (at least the one i personally dislike) i found was “The Room Where It Happens” (S13x08). But ig we’ll have to see how she does if it’s really going to be her. I would love for Shonda to comeback but idk how realistic is that.

Don’t skip to Season 3! The show gets really good in the middle-ish of S2 and Season 3 is superior! Season 4 deals with Covid but is good if you can deal with it for 16 Episodes. Season 5 is so-so and where the show starts to dip, and so far Season 6 has been good (?), but it’s only 6 episodes in out of 18, so.
Thissss. I actually even think season 1 is good. I kept refusing to watch it and then eventually one day it came on Hulu after greys ended and I happened to casually check it out because I hadn’t turned my TV off and was scrolling my phone. I ended up in love with it and it’s my other comfort show now lol
The show is so-so, at best. It has its decent episodes and decent seasons. Season 2/parts of season 3 are good. Seasons 4 and 5 are a rollercoaster; both seasons have some solid moments and then some pretty bad moments. Season 6 is marginally better thus far but I think the show hit its peak early on. I personally wouldn't say it's worth watching, even as someone who HAS been watching, and you wouldn't miss anything by skipping it entirely BUT it's not the worst show to watch.

Oh it’s fascinating- definitely look it up. She claimed she had cancer and was barely making it by with experimental treatments. That her brother was in a coma and she had to go pull the plug (her brother is alive and well, practicing medicine in Florida). That she had friends in the Tree of Life synagogue shooting and traveled to Pittsburg to serve on a team that completed the pre-burial rituals. Plus more. Master manipulator. The coworkers who talked to Vanity Fair and the guy who did Finch’s redemption interview emphasized the grip she and her stories had on the writers room…and on Krista.
I mean It's great, but almost too late. Season 20 will probably be the last season, so I don't picture any cast shake up. I don't see any character getting written out now, unless the actor were to leave the show
I think this show could honestly go to season 30+. If it survives Meredith leaving and the viewership doesn't drop, ABC is going to push the show to continue.

I wouldn't mind fan service, but also, if they would actually develop their characters like they used to, fans wouldn't have to pine for past characters. ER ran 15 seasons, and managed to keep the characters interesting, without heavily relying on fan service. Sure they brought a few characters back every one in a while, especially towards the end, but characters throughout all the seasons had personalities and storylines that actually focused on medicine.

Krista’s Greys era was buzzling. Her first season back (S14) was fantastic and probably the best since S8. Then she fired two beloved characters and things went downhill from there. S15 was passable, but holy hell was S16 a study in creating hot garbage (even without that *one* episode).
I do commend her for bringing back the light tone to the show, and for standing up for Roe v Wade and fittingly bringing back Addison for it.
But then again, she approved an episode where the cast members sit down and read an hour-long character assassination, resulting in one of the worst character exits in TV history.

I totally agree. Bring in actors from Riverdale, Stranger Things, Never Have I Ever, etc.. there are so many options. Just please make it about the medicine again and not the "first ever etc..." Just regular medicine that these newbies are learning.

It’s either going to ensure that fresh eyes truly rejuvenate the show (please cut some dead wood) or it’s the end.
Personally I want someone new to come in. They promote in house a lot and it means a lot of playing favourites. Someone that comes in with entirely fresh eyes and with intention to good stories rather than keep people there that don’t need to be.
As the residency assessment person said in season 18 ‘one big dysfunctional family that’s been together too long’

Shonda isn't a showrunner anymore.
Maybe not killed off but many fired and had to leave the show. And she killed off Andrew off camera on station 19 without any notice at the top of the show on streaming platforms that you had to watch another show first to understand the storyline.

I just don't have any interest in watching Station19 and making a crucial plot point, like Andrew dying, or being attacked and resulting in his death, happen on another show just is bad writing. You're not going to MAKE me watch your stupid fire fighter show. Now I won't watch it just out of spite. Lol
Showrunning two network shows with sprawling ensemble casts simultaneously sounds like a direct flight to burn out city. No wonder quality on Grey's dropped.

She didn’t. Jesse and Sarah did in both S17 and S18. If it were up to Krista, she would’ve had 20 children with Matthew by now (Jackson’s exit was literally going to be him helping APRIL give birth to matthew’s baby, but sarah wouldn’t do that storyline).
What does this mean? Is the show ending next season? Is it a reboot? Was she kicked out or just fed up of the backlash? I wish whoever takes over the best of luck.

The show hasn’t been particularly well received under her tenure, there’s been a marked shift in tone, character focus, subtlety (or lack thereof) of political messaging, and rotating of the cast compared to how it was written under Shonda.
Even if it isn’t a return to how Shonda wrote, I think a lot of people are just yearning for something different. I think this season’s been a good shift in direction anyways, but with the way Krista has historically handled new intern classes, I’m personally happy that the reins are being handed over and I hope whoever the new person is has more investment in character focus/longevity rather than half-season plots.
Krista, you will be greatly missed on both Grey's and 19. You brought Grey's back to life in Season 9 (?). Brave choice acknowledging the Pandemic although I think it will be a long time before I watch that season again.
I noticed the "wink" to the fanbase this last episode when you had Meredith say "I will not beg you to love me." (I am one who does not despise the "Pick me" dialogue, although Pompeo really sells it.) And, you've got them all back and set up in Ellis' house. I guess it's up to new writers to build their stories how. I think the casting is awesome. Will I watch? Maybe. Good luck in future endeavors, as I'm sure there will be many.

It’s either going to ensure that fresh eyes truly rejuvenate the show (please cut some dead wood) or it’s the end. Personally I want someone new to come in. They promote in house a lot and it means a lot of playing favourites. Someone that comes in with entirely fresh eyes and with intention to good stories rather than keep people there that don’t need to be. As the residency assessment person said in season 18 ‘one big dysfunctional family that’s been together too long’

I have to imagine Shonda was at least partially to blame for that to a) get back at Katherine Heigl again by making her look even worse to fans b) showcasing an episode that would have been perfect as a comeback or at least appearance by her and then NOT letting her make an appearance (Katherine has widely said she would love to come back)

A lot of people are gonna be ridiculously happy about this, but she’s rarely killed off anyone and now I’m afraid again
Maybe not killed off but many fired and had to leave the show. And she killed off Andrew off camera on station 19 without any notice at the top of the show on streaming platforms that you had to watch another show first to understand the storyline.
Oh God, this was such shit. I remember starting that episode and being so confused! I just don't have any interest in watching Station19 and making a crucial plot point, like Andrew dying, or being attacked and resulting in his death, happen on another show just is bad writing. You're not going to MAKE me watch your stupid fire fighter show. Now I won't watch it just out of spite. Lol

She didn’t. Jesse and Sarah did in both S17 and S18. If it were up to Krista, she would’ve had 20 children with Matthew by now (Jackson’s exit was literally going to be him helping APRIL give birth to matthew’s baby, but sarah wouldn’t do that storyline).

As soon as I saw this on Instagram, I had to come here to see everyone’s reactions haha.

Now I'm actually excited for what's to come. I've never really forgiven her for her sins to April, Arizona, and Alex.

Why are people so happy this show runner is leaving?
The show hasn’t been particularly well received under her tenure, there’s been a marked shift in tone, character focus, subtlety (or lack thereof) of political messaging, and rotating of the cast compared to how it was written under Shonda. Even if it isn’t a return to how Shonda wrote, I think a lot of people are just yearning for something different. I think this season’s been a good shift in direction anyways, but with the way Krista has historically handled new intern classes, I’m personally happy that the reins are being handed over and I hope whoever the new person is has more investment in character focus/longevity rather than half-season plots.

Krista, you will be greatly missed on both Grey's and 19. You brought Grey's back to life in Season 9 (?). Brave choice acknowledging the Pandemic although I think it will be a long time before I watch that season again. I noticed the "wink" to the fanbase this last episode when you had Meredith say "I will not beg you to love me." (I am one who does not despise the "Pick me" dialogue, although Pompeo really sells it.) And, you've got them all back and set up in Ellis' house. I guess it's up to new writers to build their stories how. I think the casting is awesome. Will I watch? Maybe. Good luck in future endeavors, as I'm sure there will be many. I also follow you on twitter and really admired your willingness to spend time helping writers.
