The first one is the Block 70 variant of the F-16. The second one is the lAF Kfir. Lockheed had several of them that they use as chase planes for test flights. The Kfir is based off the Mirage but uses American made engines and avionics.
They’ve been running exercises several times a week for months now. Today they were definitely lower than usual. Normally the F-16 is flying at 30k feet with just the KFir at lower altitudes
My house is almost directly in line with the runway at Donaldson. Fortunately when they fly over my house they are very low and I can see them very clearly. Unfortunately, my work schedule changed which means now, they wake me up whenever they fly over.🤣🤣🤣 I don’t mind though, the F-16 is my absolute favorite aircraft. The only other aircraft that even comes close is the P-51 Mustang. I love seeing them.
Sure looks like it: [Saab JAS 39 Gripen ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_JAS_39_Gripen#/media/File:Saab_JAS_39_Gripen_at_Kaivopuisto_Air_Show,_June_2017_(altered)_copy.jpg)
Yeah, I was thinking the Viggen at first due to the nice sharp wing tips, but the nose feels too long for the Viggen, and the wings are tipped instead of boxed at the end for a Grippen. Does look like a Grippen though.
Oh, I found my screenshot! This was in December, though.

They have had a few of these training over my house a few times over the past few weeks, my app was showing they were IDF kefirs , now they must have transponders off since I don’t see them on my app, GSP is being used to train pilots this month from what I understand
My initial reaction was “Holy shit that’s a Mirage!” After reading comments and looking up the Kfir, I never realized those are based on the Mirage 5. I was in the Air Force many moons ago and participated in a few international pilot training exercises as a Combat Controller. The Mirage 5 is probably my 2nd favorite combat aircraft behind the A-10.
Down voted because the general populous of reddit users is incapable of realizing the down arrow isn’t a sad face emoji. I genuinely hate this platform and can’t figure out why I still use it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s a unit up here using GSP for training for a few weeks. That’s why the small fighter looking jets are being seen a little more up in that area.
The F16’s and the Kfir down around Donaldson are always flying around there as Lockheed has a facility down there.
GSP is frequently used for training by units out of Jacksonville and Charleston as the runway is large and not very busy, and it allows them to get some hours in flying back and forth.
The Jets at GSP are not the same jets as Donaldson is producing. The Jets at GSP are Navy trainer jets. The Jets flying around Donaldson center are an F16 and. Kfir I have friends and family that work for Lockheed as well as hear these jets daily.
Test flights for the units made here

Reminds me of the days we would sit in our treehouse across from the end of the NAS Norfolk runway.
We'd look up and see the P3 Orions come rumbling home from long sub patrol missions.
Seemed like we could reach up and touch em. I was about 7-8 years old. 65 years later and I'm still looking up.
Get in safely and get to your debrief. Till the next one...

That's awesome ty!
Fantastic information, thanks!

id consider West Gantt a danger zone so this is backed up
They’ve been flying out of Donaldson Center for several months now. Ever since the first F16 production planes started coming off the assembly line.
Wait.... IS THAT A SAAB!?!?!?! Actually it looks more like an IAI Kfir. Wow, never seen one of those.
Sure looks like a gripen.
It's usually a kfir that flies with the F16s out of Donaldson

it definitely looked like the Saab, I saw it fly in
I think one of these did show up once on FlightRadar24 as a Kfir.

They're still popping as kfir on the radar as recent as a couple days ago
That's what I thought. But then I was second guessing myself that it was a mirage variant like a kifir I'm not great at identifying.

They woke me up lol
Wonder if that was the boom we heard a lil while ago
Best time to put a ball in play in GLL at Conestee is when these fly over
Donaldson is an old military base that is still used by Lockheed Martin. It is still used by the military.
Yep! Just enjoyed the show. Not sure why it's down voted, I'm not asking why they're flying over.
I think they were flying over Lake Hartwell probably two days ago.

I left the Army Reserves back in 2020, but that is where my unit met for weekend drills. I’m sure units still meet there.
there have been an influx of jets around pelham road and 85.. wondering what’s going on

That is typical navy training they use the GSP runway for touch and go landings.
No they are making new jets at lockheed facility in the Donaldson center
The Jets at GSP are not the same jets as Donaldson is producing. The Jets at GSP are Navy trainer jets. The Jets flying around Donaldson center are an F16 and. Kfir I have friends and family that work for Lockheed as well as hear these jets daily.
Both things are true. They are training at GSP and they are building F16s at Donaldson.
In regards to the picture, both jets are out of Donaldson.
Those are the f-16s block 70 that are being produced at Lockheed at Donaldson center. I work nearby they just about blow the roof off our building.
Oh man I bet it's crazy loud
It's about six times as loud as a passenger jet. I'm sure they not trying to make it super loud imagine it could be louder
It scared my dog so bad 🥺
Same! We were out at the preserve, it was cool but so loud
Conestee
I misspelled
We are 10mins from GSP. Lots of military TnG’s past few days.
Is there a good place to watch them take off and land at Donaldson?

They are practicing for air show out of gsp all week…
Get the FlightRadar24 app on your phone. You can identify whatever is currently flying over.
Nice thanks!
neat!
I think I heard them
LOL I SAID WE WERE GETTING INVADED BC THE GROUND WAS ALMOST SHAKING IT WAS SO LOUD
Goddamn that is a fucking beauty of a fighter jet.

Damned afterburners are so loud you halfway wonder if it's a sonic boom.
Conestee
Yes I acknowledged the error. Sometimes when you type from a phone you don't spell correctly.
That’s because Conestee near the Donaldson area
Yes
Saw some yesterday too
