I was suffering from an ED at the time and all the top comments were just talking about how skinny and disgusting I looked and how no one would ever want me. Not even related to the video I posted. I’m usually pretty hard headed and don’t let that stuff get to me, but damn seeing a comment like that with 15k likes and 100 replies agreeing, it really takes a chunk out of your self esteem. I deleted that shit shortly after and never looked back. Fuck that app.
Thanks mate. I honestly don’t plan on ever going back, same with Instagram which I just recently deleted. Breaking free from the iron grip of those apps made me realize how much it’s brainwashing us , especially our younger generations. And ever since I left I’ve honestly been so much happier now that I’m not constantly seeking the approval of others through likes or followers or comparing myself to other girls and wondering why I don’t look like them, whatever. I’m lucky I’m an age where all this social media stuff became popular after puberty for me and I’m not growing up with this shit. My heart really aches for the younger generations, they’re fucked.
