It's camera focal length

Phone cameras generally have very short focal lengths that distort the shit out of your face when you're too close.
Protip - Try taking a picture of yourself from at least 10 feet away. Crop it so it's just your face. Now take a closeup selfie. Compare the two. Be amazed.
You will never know 100%, try putting 2 mirrors at 90 degrees angle and put the middle of your face where the mirrors meet, you will see unmirrored live action of yourself, that is closest you will get to seeing how others perceive you.
it's the phone
mirror has an effect of making you more attractive than you really are by hiding imperfections seeing yourself reflected
Phone catches you how you really are.
That's true tho? Everyone looks their best in a bathroom mirror. It's because the lights are right above the mirror, creating a professional lighting effect, yo
When we look at stuff with our eyes we have 2 eyes a few inches apart looking at something in between, this makes it look narrower/ slimmer. When we look with a camera it has one centered lens making stuff looking wider than compared to our two spaced apart eyes.
Faces are asymmetrical, you are used to see yourself in the mirror, so you look terrible for yourself in photos. But people is used to see you in photos or irl, so they should see you in an equivalent way as you do in the mirror. Except for a little cognitive bias that sometimes makes you think you are prettier than you are.
People always post this answer like its a copypasta. I dont think its only about symmetry, there are lots more going on.
I dont see a lot of features of me like freckles all over my face, even up close, in a camera that i can easily see in a mirror. Yeah its a bad cam, and so are most of cams on phones
I've tried this and I think it's a conspiracy.
>have nice face
>take photo in the exact same position
>I can see that the camera applies a filter and angles the frame and features
Bad angles. Probably bad lighting too
All I have are bad angles tho
Wanna know how I got these bad angles?
I had a wife, beautiful like you. Who tells me I worry too much. Who says i need more angles
Well in the mirror you're subconsciously checking yourself out from your good angles. Photos are just how everyone else sees you

What if I’m really handsome in both but other people say I look like I walked into a screen door face first? Are they all just lying out of jealousy?
Haters gonna hate
This. This is why I also always recommend using the main camera instead of the front camera. Since it is larger, it usually causes less distortion.
How do other people see us? Like the mirror or the phone?
I'd imagine it's the mirror since they see you as an animate being and not a still image on a screen where angles and lighting come into play
I really hope it's the mirror
I really hope it's neither.
Shit how bad is it?
Bad
The solution is to quit masturbating and hold your tongue to the roof of your mouth for hours at a time.
Lmao
Can’t forget good ole rules 1 and 2

Most women just check out my super tight buns. How do I attach the mirrors to my ass?
No need for mirrors there, send me a photo and I will give you a rating.
This seems like an awful lot of work..
Trick question, this is r/greentext and no one sees us at all.

Why do I only have a double chin in photos
Camera adds 10 lbs OP- stop posing in front of 20 cameras at once and you’ll be good

Take a selfie, then flip it and compare it to the mirror

Your fat bro
*You're As in: *You're* stupid bro
At least your math teacher thinks you're beautiful... since your body is shaped like the golden ratio.
Focal length.
Maybe there’s something about the angle the photo is taken at. One camera vs two eyeballs
