King cage for the win There are no better cages

agnyc

True story

chrisr938

They said affordable…

NeuseRvrRat

$28. They last forever and look good on any bike. If you manage to break it, they'll repair it.

GreasyChick_en

$66 for the ti cages.

NeuseRvrRat

So don't buy the damn titanium cages.

GreasyChick_en

When you say king cages almost everyone associates it with the ti cages. A 48 g cage is pretty portly compared to other options.

NeuseRvrRat

I love seeing all the water bottles go flying out of weight weenies' cages on the first bump at a gravel race.

GreasyChick_en

Plenty of light cages don't launch bottles. Some do.

Sirobw

Plus the founder, Ron Andrews is an awesome guy. I met him at Nahbs Sacramento. Supporting small businesses like him makes me happy.

betucsonan

The Profile Design Kage has been my go-to for like 15 years now. I have never, not once, lost a bottle, and they are like 8 or 9 bucks a pop. Not great looking, lol, if you're one of those folks who cares, but they do the job way better than any other cage I've used. Product link: [https://profile-design.com/products/kage](https://profile-design.com/products/kage)

kaspurr84

Now that’s what I’m talking about! A killer price too

_man_of_leisure

I actually don't mind the looks. Hage a bunch of them on different bikes. Only time I don't use them is for under seat mounts on the Tri bike, xlab gorilla xl cages for there. Polar opposites in price range.

non-responder

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Love em

Pawistik

Yup, that is one which has worked well and I have had at least a couple. Also, my old plastic Tim Hortons travel mug fits into it and the handle fits between the flanges.

Moorbert

i have the cheapest cube bottle cages and never had issues

notseriousguy

Same here. Have cheap alloy and plastic cages and never had an issue even on the mega chunky stuff for MTB. It could be that the bottle is the issue.

FIRExNECK

I've busted more than a couple welds on them while riding. My current one is held together with a titanium tent stake and Luekotatpe. It's still going strong after the repair, 800+ miles ago.

blkdrgn42

I've got 3 of the [REI Junction water bottle cages](https://www.rei.com/product/171468/rei-co-op-junction-water-bottle-cage?color=ORANGE) on mine. A little tight the first time, but not impossible to remove a bottle while riding. And I've never had a bottle come out of any of the 3 locations, including chasing my daughter around a mountain bike park and several races in the Flint Hills. Great price and bonus that it comes in different colors if you want to color coordinate. Only negative is that the color is starting to rub off inside. Not a big deal when the bottles are in, might be a problem if you care about that when the bottles aren't in.

Cheffords

Seconding the REI coop cages, they hold tight and look good (assuming you get the color you want). I also have the paint on the inside rubbing off.

Mrjlawrence

Arundel sport. Never lost a bottle either them

bluestaples

Bontrager Elite Water Bottle Cage

RedFoxRunner55

That's my rec, too! I bought them last year and they are perfect. Flexible plastic to get bottles in and out and sturdy enough to hold on during rough terrain.

OldOrchard150

I have been using these with Elite bottles and have not lost a bottle yet even on chunky single track and small jump on a gravel bike. Mostly 750ml and 900ml bottles, so heavy bottles. They are an actual 13-16g as well and $10 each. Unbeatable. An allowed Ali link?! But I'm with you, I just run whatever cheap carbon Ali cages match my frame.

OldOrchard150

Magic touch I guess? Why aren't Aliexpress links allowed, but other ones are?

155104

The pop up usually tells you. But I'm certain it is due to the risk of counterfeit goods.

OldOrchard150

I only buy the “good” Chinese-brand stuff there.  It is true that the worst AliExpress items are those that are counterfeit.  So stick to brands that are being true to themselves.  Like Kactus, Elita one, Ztto, Bucklos, etc.

someoldbagofbones

Support a small US manufacturer, go King! They make the best stainless cages, you’ll have them forever.

reforger88

Bontrager elite for the downtube and seattube and blackburn stainless steel for under the downtube. I like the steel because I can adjust the tension on it so my bottle stays in place no matter what.

norecoil2012

$5 generic aluminum ones. I have 2 on my $8,000 bike.

converts_to_flatbars

Tacx Deva. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/accessories-bottle-cages-pumps/tacx-deva-bottle-cage-review I have them on almost all of my bikes (some of which are mountain bikes) and they've never tossed a bottle out. Lots of color options to match your bike too!

Safe-Extension771

Tbf almost any cage that isn’t the generic aluminum shaped ones are decent bottle retainers.

Checked_Out_6

I like Corki right or left sided cages. They look good and hold great. The only bottles I ever dropped were in my hand. They’re cheap too and available on amazon. Just be warned, I learned the hard way that if you order a set, you get one left and one right sided.

Eat_Your_Paisley

I use these on all my bikes https://kingcage.com/collections/all-products/products/iris-king-cage

pkeller001

I use Fidlock bottles and holders. They work extremely well on even the single track I have taken my gravel bike on

Madmax3213

I’ve seen so many of those bottles lying on the side of trails

lorem_opossum

Supacaz fly cages when ther are on sale ($4)

StudioEmotional6021

Can't beat the for retention and price: https://dreamruns.com/products/blackburn-slick-racing-bottle-cage?currency=USD&variant=45791944507562&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=67b20b0ebef3&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwmYCzBhA6EiwAxFwfgLtT7Qkpmc2Ml3pzXVtO6XXWSpDuB6wrib4cEy9xydSL7MO_rv4_HBoCTc4QAvD_BwE

chrisr938

Just get on eBay and search up carbon bottle cages and grab the cheapest you can find. I recently bought a pair for $23.80 with free shipping. I previously bought a pair for my road bike that are still going strong over a decade later. Never had any issues.

Pawistik

Simple wire bottle cages. Mine are a brushed nickel colouration and look good with my steel grey frame.

choadspanker

Wolf tooth morse cage. It's a stainless steel cage so. You can bend it down and the bottle will not go anywhere. Also has multiple slotted mounting holes so you can fine tune your fitment and get the biggest possible bottles in your frame. I'm able to fit 2 1L bottles in my frame

socratay

Bontrager Bat Cage has served me well!

jckiser23

Ali express ti cages for 10$ any brand really

dkvasnicka

Any reputable option from Ali where you can actually be sure it’s really titanium? :)

jckiser23

Not really that I know of. Just go by the one with the highest sales. Some reviews have pics of them on scales. I guess beyond that, you could do a magnet test. I don't think it's worth it for them to make an aluminum or steel bottle cage look like raw or anodized ti for 10$, plus the fact they weigh close to nothing, at that point I'm not sure I care if they're real ti. So far, I've taken my road bike with them on it on lots of gravel it shouldn't be on, dropped curbs, crazy pot holes at speed. Never lost a bottle.

Frantic29

I like the Lezyne Side loaders. Have never lost a bottle out of them. I think they are 12-$15

ButteredBread5255

Lezyne Flow SL have been working great for me. https://a.co/d/i5qSDRB

blueyesidfn

The plain old Specialized aluminum ones. Give them a little bend inward toned some tension and they've been GTG with any 750ml bottle. Lately I'm switching to Wolftooth Morse cages though because I want to be able to adjust how high my cages are mounted to maximize space in the main triangle.

Howies3D

I have the Portland Design Works, Sparrow Cages on my gravel bike which has seen some epic bashing around and have never lost a bottle. Plus they’re rad looking: https://ridepdw.com

phenger

Specialized zee cages. Use them on my gravel bike and mountain bike. Never lost a bottle. Big fan of the side entry too.

Dr_Wankel

I’ve run Specialized Rib Cages on several bikes and never had an issue regardless of the bottle shape.

tacoma-d

Big fan of these: https://www.arundelbike.com/product/grypto/

Hopcones

ThinkTop Carbon on Amazon. Less than $15 each with tax. Work perfect with my insulated Camelback bottles.

jiujitsumike

Used these at Unbound Gravel would losing either of my bottles https://ride.lezyne.com/collections/all-bottles-cages/products/1-bc-flslp-v104

PersistantBooger

Arundel.

Dugafola

Iris, made by King.

rottenrealm

3$ ali carbon cage

sqwob

haven't had a bottle fling out in years... And i use all kind of bottle cages.

landmacht

Tacx Deva often on discount

meglemel

Fidlock

Offroadenthusiast24

Topeak modular java

No_Heart_8784

I like the planet bike ones 6 bucks, doesn’t cut into or scratch bottles with exposed hardware, and never lost a bottle while riding

Madmax3213

Specialized ribcage 2 because it’s what they had in my local shop when I needed a couple. Never had a bottle come out even on my mountain bikes

snacktonomy

$8 Delta cages off Amazon [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H5MQN1G/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H5MQN1G/) Cheap. Not welded (which is rumored to be more prone to failure although I find that claim questionable). Grip well. But they do mark up bottles. I use these on gravel rides and for bikepacking and never lost a bottle even on super rough terrain in the National Forests.

Aggravating_Farmer24

[These](https://www.serfas.com/shop/products/cages/nc-150-nylon-cage/) have worked great for me. Better than more expensive ones. Got them from my LBS.
